Exactly. I don’t understand why people find it hard to believe that someone who doesn’t love anyone on a personal level would still not want to see the entire world destroyed and reset. He’s a being with reason, and given that, it was only a matter of time before he started defying a tyrant who treats everyone like puppets.

He basically came to terms with everything, abandoned the whole revenge plan, saved the world together with CP and TMS, then willingly allowed himself to be sealed for another 10 000 years and in the current timeline he got a happy ending with MXL. He's basically merged with XXC/returned to his original personality.

Fans of the original work aren't happy, I personally couldn't have wished for a better ending. 😂

Well yeah, but when you say he went to sleep and will never awaken again it sounds so gloomy. 😂 I took it as him coming to terms with everything that happened, choosing to forgive and just naturally returning to his original ZM/XXC personality/merging.

But basically, we both think the same, just phrasing it differently.

They worked with their past selves to kill HT. Once they succeeded, their past selves had to reenact everything that happened the first time in order to preserve the future where HT was killed. To ensure this, ZM willingly agreed to be sealed again for the next 10 000 years, while CP followed the same path as before. In the current timeline DL ZM merged with XXC, and MXL inherited CP's memories and they got their happy ending. That's how I understood it.

Wait, what? Isn't he the one now? Only demons can make that tree bloom, and he also has XXC's memories?

He was trapped there for the next 10 000 years, same as the first time, because they had to make sure everything that happened before happens again. However, in the current timeline he is free (because 10 000 years have passed), and the person MXL meets in the last scene is DL ZM who 'merged' with XXC.

Why are fandoms always full of brainless idiots! 💀

I hope he gets more leading roles in the future, he's too talented to always play a 2ML/supporting character.

It's a sad ending from our perspective, but I think it finally brought him relief. I quite like what they did with his character.

I would say there are traces of it, but characters change so the bromance also turns into something else.

I can feel my brain short-circuiting every time I try to logically grasp the concept of time travel. I’m pretty sure the human brain just isn’t built to understand it. With that being said, this is xianxia, so I'll just roll with it.

It's a perfect ending, beautifully wrapped up. I need a moment to let it all sink in.

Lemme just say this before I start ep. 40: TMS I KNEW DEFENDING YOU WOULD PAY OFF. Such a beautiful character development, I'm so happy with how everything was handled. He's going straight to the top of my 'favourite characters ever' list.

Ah, I see, that makes sense. Personally, I don't care too much about the romance. I do, but I don't find it to be the most important element of the stories. I tend to focus on individual characters and their traits when watching dramas, so if someone interferes in the main leads' relationship, I don't automatically dislike it. We all have different things we focus on, though, which is completely normal.

I do agree that NXY was easier to like. I'll not argue against that. 😂

What 11228 said + Pearl is breaking the rules set by HT, and HT intends to punish her for it. If she continues acting on her love for ZM, there will be consequences. We saw how TMS saved her from HT's punishment multiple times before, so her love for ZM not only defies HT's rules but also puts her life in danger. Aside from feeling jealous and left behind, TMS wants to stop her from harming herself.
The fact that TMS is completely ignoring her wishes and acting hypocritically in the process is another issue.
