Yeah, many civilizations around the world had legends of a Great Flood, so some historians believe there must have been an event in the past that sparked those widespread stories. It's an interesting theory.
It's not xianxia, but there is one fantasy Korean drama that actually did a great job at mixing real history and fantasy. It's Arthdal Chronicles. The way they merged real historical processes and fictional fantasy storyline is amazing!
Wang Hedi devoured this role! His performance balanced the right mix of humor/silliness and intensity, and he excelled in the emotional scenes as well. It was simply flawless!
I can't say that I enjoyed the ending and the final revelation, but the last 5 episodes in general were amazing. I could taste the sweetness of his revenge, it was so satisfying. And before that, the part when he injured that Silver Gong dude was also amazing.
In the beginning I didn't want to watch it because it's comedy, but I'm glad I changed my mind.
I really enjoy this comment section! There's no nonsense & excessive thirsting over actors and most comments focus on the plot and characterisation/character development. It's great reading everyone's thoughts. I watched three currently airing dramas and this is the only comment section I actually like visiting. 😂

I really love the love story between Yan and Qingyang. I find them to be much more interesting than their reincarnated versions who were pretty bland. Also, Yan is such a cutie, a miserable cutie. Completely my type!

Well, it's just a backstory. By the time we see them as characters, FL can already love, and 2ML also questions everything, is attached to FL and obviously feels *something*. I find it extremely interesting, but to each their own.
As for Ashes of Love, I already have it in my PTW list, but somehow I always pick something else to watch. The Last Immortal didn't really catch my attention, but I may check it out.

I'm the biggest TMS apologist! 🤣 Yeah, I agree with that. A lot of people watch these dramas for romance, so any external interference is often met with hostility. It doesn’t help that TMS is trying to emulate romantic love, even though he doesn’t fully understand it. He only knows that Pearl promised they'd always be together, and suddenly she's refusing to stay with him and is willing to die for love that he sees as fleeting. Honestly, him not trying to interfere would feel even weirder in my opinion.

They can't see colors, taste things, or feel emotions, all to remain impartial. Over time, they begin questioning their own existence and in the end FL even 'learns' to love, which becomes the source of all their troubles.

It's more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it.

I like how they’re showing us their past. It makes it easier to understand ZM’s feelings of betrayal and even his quest to annihilate the deities. That decision couldn't have been made lightly, so I really appreciate that they’re showing us the backstory.
