It's a sad ending from our perspective, but I think it finally brought him relief. I quite like what they did with his character.

I would say there are traces of it, but characters change so the bromance also turns into something else.

I can feel my brain short-circuiting every time I try to logically grasp the concept of time travel. I’m pretty sure the human brain just isn’t built to understand it. With that being said, this is xianxia, so I'll just roll with it.

It's a perfect ending, beautifully wrapped up. I need a moment to let it all sink in.

Lemme just say this before I start ep. 40: TMS I KNEW DEFENDING YOU WOULD PAY OFF. Such a beautiful character development, I'm so happy with how everything was handled. He's going straight to the top of my 'favourite characters ever' list.

Ah, I see, that makes sense. Personally, I don't care too much about the romance. I do, but I don't find it to be the most important element of the stories. I tend to focus on individual characters and their traits when watching dramas, so if someone interferes in the main leads' relationship, I don't automatically dislike it. We all have different things we focus on, though, which is completely normal.

I do agree that NXY was easier to like. I'll not argue against that. 😂

What 11228 said + Pearl is breaking the rules set by HT, and HT intends to punish her for it. If she continues acting on her love for ZM, there will be consequences. We saw how TMS saved her from HT's punishment multiple times before, so her love for ZM not only defies HT's rules but also puts her life in danger. Aside from feeling jealous and left behind, TMS wants to stop her from harming herself.
The fact that TMS is completely ignoring her wishes and acting hypocritically in the process is another issue.

Well, there's a character in one of the currently airing Chinese dramas who is, in my opinion, utterly despicable, but the actress is beautiful (and the character does have a tragic past) so people love her. All I see on twitter, for example, are appreciation posts about her. The only difference is that she doesn't chase the male lead. That may be the reason why people like her. I despise her tho.

You're not wrong, physical appearance plays a big role. Isn't that the case for female leads too, though? I've seen people thirsting over the least likeable female characters just because they're pretty. Personally, I don't watch dramas where I don't find the male lead attractive. I just don't want to. However, to create a truly likable character, being good-looking isn't enough. There are plenty of handsome actors out there, but people often don't connect with their characters. In my case, I know the formula - he needs to be good-looking AND pitiful, but not a pushover. Give me a character like that and I'm sold, whether he's the male lead or the second male lead.

MXL and ZM tho! 🥵 I really do hope he retains some of this demon spiciness and doesn't completely return to how he was as XXC. 😂

Also, I have to point out how much I love MXL's characterization. I don’t usually talk about female leads, but she really ticks all the right boxes for me. It’s not just that she’s a "strong female character" or that she’s loyal to the male lead, no, it’s about the perfect balance. She loves the male lead, shows it, helps him, and even sacrifices herself for him, but she never loses herself in the process. That moment when she healed TMS really sealed the deal for me. Yes, TMS did something terrible to someone she loves, but he was also her "family" for thousands of years, and now she remembers all of that. The boundaries are clear and she won’t let them be crossed, but she also honors her past. She's strong, yet feminine and gentle. She can hold her own, but she also allows herself to be led. Sun Zhen Ni was a great choice for this role. She possesses both the innocence and the allure needed to bring out all of MXL's characteristics.

It would have been a good rule if he had been able to enforce it/create truly emotionless tools. As someone already pointed out tho, his creations are flawed. TMS still claims to be heartless and emotionless, but everything he does shows us that he’s far from it.

OMG! From the moment we were introduced to that sect of monks, I already loved them. And the fact that Xuan Xin is Feng Yao's not-so-dead brother? IT'S MAKING ME SO HAPPY! That was such a great surprise.

I really love our second couple. I care about them more now that we've seen their past lives. Hopefully they'll get their happy ending.
It’s been said a hundred times already, but A'Bao is just so CUTE! I loved her interaction with TMS, he neither smells nor stinks, lol.

Now, Demon Lord ZM. I feel bad for him. Imagine being betrayed by everyone you cared about, sealed away, and tortured for the next 10 000 years. Then, when you finally think you're free, you realize that one part of yourself, the naive part, made sure you can’t seek revenge after your release. LOL. In that light, it was hilarious when that Snow City guy came and talked about how humanity needs his help. That must’ve really touched a sore spot for him! It’s also interesting how ZM has XXC’s memories but views that part of his soul as a separate entity. I had originally thought that they would merge and influence each other more.

I really can't find a single thing to dislike about this drama. It's so good!

He definitely ruffled some feathers, that's for sure. 🤣

Okay, after watching episode 35, I think it’s safe to say that no matter what TMS does, I won’t hate him, LMAO. He’s so interesting. Yes, the main couple is nice, and their love is beautiful, but honestly, everything exciting in this drama happens because of NXY/TMS. And also, he already suffered for 10 000 years. I wouldn't wish further suffering on anyone, let alone him.

I have a few observations and questions regarding episode 35. That contract TMS gave to A'Zhu, was it really supposed to transfer ZM’s harm to her, and it only failed because ZM saw through her? And also, what Hao Tian said in the previous episodes, if TMS hadn’t ruined everything, ZM was just supposed to be a human vessel and a way for HT to 'reset' the world anyway? I really hope they’ll elaborate on that. People praise ZM for giving humans their spiritual powers, but I honestly don’t care about humans. They ended up being just as bad as the Divine Clan, abusing their powers against the Spirit Clan and acting all righteous. ZM was a great person in the past, and also as XXC, but my sympathy for the human race ends with him. They deserve nothing. TMS was right about humans repaying kindness with hatred and Yan’s death proved it.

All in all, this episode was really good. I LOVED the part when she returned to the heavenly realm and started killing everyone, and how unphased TMS was. He didn’t care at all, LOL. Also, the music in the background was amazing. And the scene where she jumps and TMS reaches out to catch her was b e a u t i f u l. Now, I can’t wait to see her reunion with Demon Lord ZM!

Where’s my TMS protection squad? I feel like it could get busy after today’s episodes. 🤣 I still haven’t seen them, but I can feel the hostility. My boy must have been naughty.

BTW, there are two new episodes today? I thought we would get only 1.
