PLEASE NO SPOILERS - I just have a general question. On WeTv there are 40 episodes but Netflix has 43 episodes?…
Some episodes on WeTV are longer (around 1h30min) so Netflix split those and got 3 additional episodes. There is no difference between Netflix and WeTV version tho.
I'm on ep 14, and I'm on the verge of dropping it. I watched this because of XZ but I couldn't stand the fl and…
If you expect and want something like TTOTM you can drop it, I've watched both and they are very different. This is slow-burn and even when they accept the feelings they have for each other their relationship won't be anything like relationship in TTEOTM, Shi Ying is just complete opposite of Tantai Jin and Zhu Yan is still young and 'innocent' and nothing like Ye Xiwu.
As for TLP, the story will get more interesting once they leave the mountain, and I did enjoy the slow-burn of their relationship and steadfastness of Shi Ying's character, but like I said, don't expect it to be like TTEOTM.
What does "mainstream project" even mean in that context?
Hmm, not sure how I feel about that on personal level. But if that's his choice and direction in which he wants to go I'll try to follow. We'll see what scripts he picks next.
I can't wait for it to finish airing so I can start watching, I've learned my lesson when it comes to watching currently airing shows. Synopsis sounds great so I'm excited.
Not to bash this drama BUT it seems like Xiao Zhan took on the role of Lan Zhan in this drama. It doesn't suit…
Identifying an actor with one of his roles is just silly and detrimental to the actor. XZ is not WWX, and WWX has nothing to do with his personality, nor does he define XZ's acting abilities.
Getting out of the wedding before would implicate her family and the entire Crimson Clan because the Azure Clan…
I've been defending her here for days 🤣, because, while yes, she does a lot of things that cause problems to others, she never actually acts mindlessly and impulsively. The problem is that she just doesn't know what's actually happening around her because other characters either hide things from her, or openly lie to her. It'll happen in later episodes too so I think it's good to sometimes put yourself in her shoes and think about how world looks from her perspective. That way she'll be less annoying I think.
I'm FINALLY back to where the drama started. So she really put all of those people in danger just to get out of…
Getting out of the wedding before would implicate her family and the entire Crimson Clan because the Azure Clan set their eyes on them and they held the power in capital. She couldn't ask Shi Ying for help because he so "nicely" congratulated her on her wedding and washed his hands of her (at least it looked like that to her). Her new husband's family wanted to turn her into an obedient puppet (literally) they could use for political purposes so she did well running away anyway.
If she faked her death before (aside from it being harder and probably dangerous for her clan anyway, in case it was revealed) the story couldn't progress without them finding out about her mother in law's conspiracy and her connection to Azure Clan.
Like yeah, Zhu Yan would ruffle less feathers but there would be no story.
What is the reason for antis (?) to downrate this drama od Douban? I just saw the rating and it baffled me. Btw, I'm not here to provoke, I'm planning on watching this and just got curious after seeing it on twitter.
Is this connected to the first part in a way that they somehow find out they knew each other in their past life? Like, is the whole reincarnation part significant to the story or it can be viewed as two separate dramas with the same leads?
Thank you! You’re the first person I’ve seen that actually understands Zhu Yan. I myself love Shi Ying too…
I also like Zhao Lusi and her acting, she probably could've carried it out, but I also like seeing a fresh new face like Ren Min who can act and looks the age. In the end I think casting choice for this one was done right.
Happy ending? Feel free to give spoilers for context
It's an open ending. ML dies (? sacrifices himself and turns into a bunch of petals), but something happens in the last scene that makes it look like he has returned, so some people consider it a happy ending (me included).
Thank you! You’re the first person I’ve seen that actually understands Zhu Yan. I myself love Shi Ying too…
Yeah, I don't know either. I don't know many Chinese actresses (except the really popular ones here on MDL, and none of them would fit in my opinion). I remember someone mentioning one of the Bai sisters (when the drama started airing) but I can't imagine them in this role either.

Right. It really irks me when people criticize her character without even trying to put themselves in her shoes. You don't have to like her or her actions but you have to admit she's not just annoying and stubborn for the sake of being annoying and stubborn. There is a logic behind most of her actions. And she also quickly forgives SY despite him KILLING her friend because she's reasonable and understands why he did what he did. When I think about it her adult life isn't that happy (she loses Zhi Yuan, then SY uses her to kill himself, she uses half of her lifespan to bring him back to life & then has to leave him again, they reunite but she loses both of her parents, after that loses both ZY and SY AGAIN (none of it being her fault) and people still have no understanding and sympathy for her. SMH.
I feel like many people who give ZY shit would be talking differently if she was played by some other popular actress but that's a whole other story >.>
I'm rewatching some episodes and I just have to say how much I love Zhu Yan's reaction to Shi Ying's attack on Zhi Yuan. Like - yes, you are my master, I love you and you have the obligation to stop the war and save the kingdom BUT I will not let you kill my friend. I just love how determined she was in standing up to someone she romantically loves in order to save her friend. Also, the clash between them was so visually beautiful!
A lot of people view things from Shi Ying's perspective and therefore find her annoying and meddlesome, but as I see it, she's such a good character.
Thank you! I'm almost done with TTEOTM and these two you mentioned are my priority for now. I'm looking forward to seeing more of his acting. *excited*
I suggest:Love is sweet - It definitely acts like a healing and buffer for all the heartbreaks and suffering that…
Thank you! I'll check them out. Still mulling over Broker because it sounds good, but the rating is bad. Anyway, I already have my hands full with the 4 already mentioned so Broker can wait.

Thanks for the explanation btw!
