I actually like the ending of the drama better than the manga because it shows that Otomo is willing to make an exception for Imagase and actually wait for someone instead of randomly filling his gaps with anybody. It needs to show that Otomo is not given an easy way out with Imagase running back to his arms. It also highlights that Otomo never truly loved anyone because if he did, he wouldn't have cheated at every opportunity he gets. Otomo breaking off ties with the director's daughter shows that he is no longer to cover up his loneliness or for the sake of appearances, just with anybody. Otomo has to learn that love is not easily bestowed but earned.

That is why I never ask for season 2 of any shows (even it's not BL). Because most sequels are bad and even ruin the coupling for me. Only acceptable sequels for me are mostly Western Movie Franchises.

That one I somehow believed after viewing countless youtube videos of makeup transformations that can turn totally one person to look drastically different. So it could be entirely possible or maybe I'm just

Am I the only one who keeps thinking throughout the drama: where in the world Joo Gyung gets the money for her (what looks to be expensive) cosmetics, beauty tools, and also fashionable clothes? She only started using them AFTER the family lost money and had to move, and it doesn't look like she's working anywhere.

Oh I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, but I'm pretty sure that I'm entitled to my own opinion. I did say in my review that it maybe just me. Not everyone will like the same thing or the same movie for that matter. And thank you for wishing me to find people in my life worth sacrificing for, I will make sure to tell my children that.

Dramas have ratings too as well as TV shows. For some reason, Viki rates LGBT content as R or NC-17.

Now let's head to the ending. I've read some people are disappointed about it because it's not your run-of-the-mill HEA where they run off to the sunset, professing undying love. This isn't how the real world works. An ambiguous ending IS okay and frankly, more realistic. Neither party are pressuring each other to do something they're not comfortable with, and that is also okay.

That's better than a tragic ending, IMHO, that one or both protagonists end up dying, separated or marrying a beard just to conform to a heteronormative narrative. Honestly, I think the drama would have also made more of an impact if they ended it 8 minutes earlier, where we see them in a montage of what could be an alternate ending. But that's just me.

I'm okay actually not having a second season, especially if it's objective is just to tie loose ends, or "to give them the happy ending that they deserve" because HEA isn't really an HEA --- it's just we do not see what happens after. We don't see what happens after Cinderella marries the prince, we don't see her with dark circles under her eyes, arguing with her husband whose turn is it to change the baby's diapers, slathering cream to hide her stretch marks and sore nipples. We don't see what happens when Snow White gets crow's feet and no amount of kale juice will stop her aging process and spiral into dementia for having to take care of seven grown men plus her husband. We don't see Belle having to conceal the marks on her back after a rough session in bed, even after she said that she has a headache and not in the mood.

As human beings whose instincts are to see two people being in love be together, of course we desire HEA. But when dopamine levels drop and reality kicks in, it's how these characters deal with whatever life throws at them that matters.

I had to admit that I wasn't so keen on watching this drama, because after watching that other much-lauded BL drama, apparently the best offering from the Philippines, I thought nothing could beat it. Don't get me wrong the other drama was good, and mostly carried on the shoulders of two young amazing actors, but there was such a copious amount of "Baby" that I couldn't help but cringe.

Anyway, back to the story, for some reason, this came up on my radar. I was just praying that it wasn't as cheesy as plenty of BL dramas are, or dramas in general, (I'm lactose intolerant after all) but boy, I'm so engaged with the story, especially the witty script (I quite loved Sue's dialogue and wished I spoke as eloquently as she does and still manage to come off as casual).

Though Vlad's sister may seem overbearing, she's just looking out for his best interest. And
I especially loved how the drama doesn't push down a heavy "you have to come out" agenda, because coming to terms with one's sexuality is after all a personal journey that you can't measure against others. Some may take time more than others but that is okay.

I loved how this show tackles misconceptions about gay culture, for example, that speech between Vlad and Karl about gay being a euphemism and how, just because someone doesn't look "gay," doesn't mean they aren't and their sexuality, less valid. And on the flip side, the dramadoesn't "punish" people who can't accept their own identity, because after all, this is a personal choice. While it's true that you can't forcibly pull someone out of the closet, you can't also push them back in.

(Next comment about the ending in the reply as spoiler)

If they had put this on YouTube its popularity would have skyrocketed. It's a travesty that this show has been…
@rob andres Exactly! If the setup was even moderately reasonable, more international fans would be able to access this and therefore, more exposure. As I mentioned somewhere else:

I am willing to pay for titles in order to support the LGBTQ community but if I were to pay over $50 Canadian dollars for 5 episodes, I better be owning them and not only renting. I paid for quite a few Strong Berry titles ...paid extra to own them than rent. I even paid for almost $15 for a TharnType special but at least I can watch it still after 30 days. There should be an option to rent or buy. Maybe like $3 to $5 each episode to rent and $10 t $15 to buy so at least more people would be watching on official sites and willing to swallow the cost and also prevents others to go on non-official streaming sites where they can watch for free.

ITSAY has the potential to become as popular as 2gether, if not more, if they make the drama available to everyone for free. Perhaps the production company wanted to recoup some money by using a pay-per-view business model, but they don't realize that making the series easily accessible using official links will drive more viewers to their official site and that will counts towards their ratings and therefore attract more sponsors who will bankroll the stars and to an extent the production company, thereby feeding their next project, namely the 2nd part of ITSAY.

Now, because of their steep rental pricing, people outside of Thailand are kinda forced to go to free sites to watch this. By the way, Vimeo lets creators set up both buy and rent options, it's just they didn't choose to do so. But why???? Imagine a drama with 10 episodes, I would have to pay over a hundred dollars just to watch it in 30 days?? Not even my Disney+ subscription cost that much an entire year and I could watch 1000s of titles. Hopefully, they would make more sense when they release the 2nd part in March as it is sad if this amazing drama doesn't get the exposure and recognition it truly deserves.

Great example how drama ratings on MDL don't say it all. This is much much much better than many of the dramas…
Exactly!!!!!! And it could be true vice versa, I didn't take to liking some of the 9+ dramas (maybe the theme isn't just my cup of tea but yes) - and I am sorry, why, why, why TV specials (especially gearing towards concerts) are even included. This is called My Drama list (to an extent movies) and not my My Music List. Just IMHO.

They have a chance to have a happy ending. And sometimes, all we need is a chance.
Exactly. It's more realistic considering the time and place, and even now that same-sex marriage is legalized in Taiwan, there are still some pockets of traditionalism and social stigma remaining (you could say this even in the most liberal of countries), but at least it's a step in a right direction. (Seeing how change, though late, is better than never).

All in all though, it's great to see BL in Korea made more "mainstream" and these actors are up for it and their management/company aren't as afraid to let their artists star in a BL drama or worried how that may affect their reputation negatively.

I hope that BL isn't just a fad right now and this isn't just a jump in a bandwagon as we need more LGBT representation. I know it's still a long way for countries in Asia to catch up with the more liberated Western or European countries but it's amazing to see strides made in Thailand and Taiwan before, and now Korea, Philippines and China (sorry if I missed others as I watched offerings so far only from these countries, doesn't mean there aren't any in others). All these small ripples can lead to bigger waves that can affect change. Kudos!
I was prepared to drop this series because nothing happened in the first half. Gave it a chance since it's a short drama and wasn't as bad as the another BL I dropped at the first go (despite waiting 6 yrs for it). Anyway, the last half isn't so bad but definitely rushed. If the pacing of the drama was spread more evenly, I think I would enjoy it more. Not as good as "Where your eyes linger" but a tad better than "Mr. Heart" only because of the songs and their harmonization together.
