I just watched this YouTube vid https://youtu.be/Lg-gIUOk4ps And they translated the convo between YWY and Xinger…
I remember Yan Xun proposing twice, once after his betrothal to the Lan Princess (I think, could have been his engagement of Princess Chun, they go by different names in the novel) and if I remember it correctly his asks her to set aside the marriage issue (his to the princess and his to her) for now until and just stay with him, until they're free. This was early in the novel before the rebellion.
The second time was after the rebellion, and Yu Wen Yue steps up his efforts to get her to leave Yan Xun. Just before she becomes completely disillusioned by YX and discovered the extent of his broken promises, he gives her a engagement ring that she wears (I think they're replacing this ring which the jade pendant as his token to her in the series).
My comment kept getting truncated so here's the rest of my previous comment related to YWY's private…
I think they do use some of Yue Wen Yu later (in the novel) moments about
Chu Qiao in the series, its' just that the director has made the moments either come earlier in the series like when Yue Wen Yu stands up to his grandfather about why he can't move on and forget her.
Or changed the context in a small way like the conversation between him and the 7th Prince when the Prince tries to pair him up with Chun'er, and they talk about the class difference and how she loves Yan Xun not him.
But the sweetest moment between YWY and CQ in the novel, is at the end when she goes 'home' and because the years of hardship and war she no longer liked feeling the cold, and realized he had built a paradise for her that was warm year round. It reminded her of a ancient emperor building similar palace from his empress as a monument of his love for her.
Dang it, I'm running out of Lin Gengxin things to watch. I've already watched all his movies. And I…
Have you tried Drama Go Go ? He's not the lead, but there is a kissing scene between him and one of the leads ;)
I've started battling PA withdraw with The Eternal Love on the weekends, it's pokes fun at PA the novel, as well as a few other time travelling/body switching rebirth novels. And by the time this one is done, The King's Woman with Dilraba Dilmurat and Vin Zhang, will be airing, which will keep me going until Tribes and Empires has the return of Duo Shawn on my screen.
After catching up on the new comments that posted since yesterday, I realized that we've past 2000 posts.…
I was thinking more along the line to organize the topics on the comment board, like threads for:
Shippers Yu Wen Yue vs Yan Xun
Novel vs Series - Did That Really Happen in the Novel?
Who is Chu Qiao and her forgotten background
Season 2 - Did they really stop filming half way into the story?
Why is the TV station spoiling our weekends by only releasing M-Th.

Anyone other then me thinks this is maybe why MDL introduced the new Discussion Area?
Question for Novel Readers - Is this (ep 50) the part in the novel that Chu Qiao gets cornered (I think the title…
I feel like the series is combining events to shorten the story timewise. They might even combine her two years in the mountians after YWY dies, with her staying in Liang before Yan Bei attacks.
But yes i think market place part is before she reunites with YX and he gives her the ring afterwards and he's happy when she puts it on because she told him about the mod custom about egagement rings, only for her to find out hes been lying about killing innocent a little later. And that leads to the split and frozen lake.
(Sooo.... many edits for spelling for such a short post)
Is this (ep 50) the part in the novel that Chu Qiao gets cornered (I think the title was market place) and at the last minute YWY saves her. Only for her to go back to YX again, because in her mind the 10 years she spent with YX couldn't compare to YWY? Then she confronts YX about his lying to her about killing innocent people?
I'm trying to place the event timewise in the novel to see how much story is left. If it is then we have the frozen lake fight, and then the last battle where she defend Liang against Yan Bei.
I just found this clip on YT, can't make out a single word they're saying but at the end (1:35) you see CQ and YWY wearing red outfits. Can someone translate this? Is this a actual still or is it something they photoshopped since CQ is wearing silver bells in it?
If it's a actual pic of the series, then season 2 won't be the last half of story, but more like NIF's season 2, following a completely different set of character's with a different story.
I'm lowkey kind of thankful that this drama is ending in August because I have to get myself together for…
Unless you signed up for summer sessions like me, then you drink alot of caffine and catch up on homework during lunch breaks at work, only to end up reading the comments MD, while figuring out how to study for finals and watch the last eps when they're both on the same day.
I am about to rip my heart out waiting for Xing'er to finally finally finally return to Yuwen Yue and fight…
I don't think its all ZLY CQ is a pretty reserved person in the novel, and rarely has emotional moments beyond anger and fustration, it more towards the last volume she starts showing more of her softer side.
ZLY isn't great when it comes to the arrogance that CQ has when it comes to military matters or dealing with YWY. but considering they changed her background for the series it makes sense since she doesn't have the previous lifetime's worth of knowledge and skills or modern personality.
I was really hoping that the lake scene would happen this week, because than I'll know that they didn't…
Maybe the battle when she squared off against YX to defend Liang? Unless the writer have change how they meet again after the lake thing, and decided to combine the 2 events. It the only way I can think of that they'll be able to fit the next 4 years worth of novel stuff into 12 eps.
I just went to the unsubbed TV version EP 50 (I couldn't stand that the Uncut Eng Sub version cut off right…
I think it's translates out to something like 'I'll say the one I like', there's no real english equivalent to it that i can think of.
But the best scene to when they're in bed and CQ asks the little kid (can't recall his name) why he isn't sleeping. And he replies "I use to sleep with Father and Mother, until Father said I was to big and should go to bed on my own. At night Father said there are things only he and mother can do together and I wouldn't see them all night. Do you 2 need to go do things too?" That the part YWY chokes on the water.
