I'm not, but it's also true as quotes in studies, that East Asian men have less thick facial hair, it grows slower, later etc. Hyperfocusing on the fact they don't have facial hair and don't like men enough is just weird. Them not showing facial hair is the same as actors having overall "perfect" skin on screen. Having wrinkles, blemishes, dark circles - all natural normal things, but we don't see them in shows. Nothing about shows in realistic. All these people have make up on, hair perfectly done, as idols to go on painfully restrictive diets to be this slim. Being this pressed about the not showing facial hair I find weird.

I don't think this conversation leads to anything,. I mean you expect teenage boys to "look like adults". You hyperfocus on the facial hair aspect. Maybe I am weird not seeing teens as proper adults and men.

I would agree that often they cast way too young actors for older roles and then make them look even younger with make up, so we get "CEO" that looks like he just graduated high school, BUT this drama is LITERALLY not the case. They are supposed to be young teen boys, not adult men. If you want your leads to look like men, not teens, watch dramas about adults not teenage boys.

As such, I expect my romantic leads to look like adults as well. < I would advice you then to not watch high school romance 👍🏻

And again, this discussion would make more sense under a show about GROWN UP MEN, not teenage boys. They cast guys who look the proper age. Damn, even in my country most 18 years old teens would not be able to grow a beard and had close to zero facial hair. They fit the characters. Them casting guys who have full on obvious facial hair would literally be less realistic in terms of the characters' age.

You don't see any "black dots" even for most actors in their 30' and 40'. Beards are not exactly popular in Korea. I honestly don't think it's that deep, and I honestly hope people don't spend too much time wondering whenever idols had or did not have erections and how many times. That's weird.

At the end of the day these guys are playing teenage boys, not a grown up men ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They look the proper age for the roles. If you look at the high school year book photos from idols (since these are easily accessible on the internet), this is literally how highschoolers (on the better looking side) look like in Korea.

Many idols do laser hair removal so often you would not see any on the face even with close ups. And these guys are idols.

Now that I summed up the dynamics of the show, to the thoughts about episode 2 - love how they downplaying everything that happened in episode 1 and the fake SA accusation 🤡
After episode 1 I wanted the show to explore Tae Hyun more because I was curious what kind of "explanation" for his behavior they will give, but at some point I started to be more interested in Da Yeol coz this child makes even less sense 😅
also, the drama is A LOT MORE CHILL with the "bullying" compared to the webtoon.

If someone tackles serious issues, they need to make sure the idea is conveyed in a proper way. Since so many people see what Tae Hyun did and is doing as a playfully and funny and not that serious, the production team obviously failed to make it "a serious real story" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh that's why I said it makes sense for the character, but not for the romance part lol Coz that explanation is solid, why he keeps pushing and why he is such a dick to Da Yeol - they do explain it well. But it still makes no sense why Da Yeol starts to have feelings for Tae Hyun. The webtoon explains Tae Hyun well, but for Da Yeol it's just - because it is what it is lol

Like... they try to explain his behavior, and I do think they did a decent job and it does make sense from the perspective of the character, BUT for me that explanation ruins the romance and for me this should never happen 😅

"bully with sad back story" < this is because Heart was not really bullying. He used Li Ming to get away from trouble because he also thought it will not cause much harm to Li Ming, he also did not do anything wrong towards Li Ming after. While Tae Hyun is literally so entertained about making Da Yeol feel uncomfortable, angry and frustrated.

I read the whole webtoon yesterday and... the story is a bit juveniles tbh. I feel like nothing is taken truly as seriously as it should.

We have to assume he LOOKS at least 37 unless Wen would be so casual about Jim potentially being a teenage dad for Li Ming (since he assumed he might be his son). He referred to himself as being almost 40. Almost 40 does not mean 35. It means 38-39. No one says they almost a certain age if they have more than 2 years before they reach it. Earth does not look 38. It's that simple ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ the idea that all these people in their late 20' and early 30' would be calling Jim Uncle when he is just 35 makes the show look dumb. And the emphasis on how "old" he is, when he is just 35. You either have a miscast for Earth, or the show being ridiculous trying to tell everyone how "old" of a man this 35 years old dude is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ both cases - not good. And Earth does not look 35 anyway.

(also lets check on Earth after 5 years and see if he will too old? I'm sure he'd still look as young and good as now) < that's because he is an ACTOR who takes a lot of cares about his looks, uses products to make sure his face is A+ condition etc. 😂 comparing how he will look like in his mid 30' to a guy who does not take care of his looks and does manual work for good 10 hours a day is just not correct.

I think the neighbor has some spiritual powers etc, that's why whatever happened did not affect her, and she saw how Dome was a different person. But for other "normal" people, literally took over the life and presence of the old Dome even in people's minds and memories.
