She was the one to suggest taking a break and getting back together when they are "done with things that bother them"... to put his mother dying as something that bothers him was just so low I cannot. But then they framed it as if he did something wrong, he broke up with her and he had to go look for her and apologized and she went: why it took you so long? Girl... you need to grow up a bit.
And I LOVED the first... 15 episodes? And then it all slowed down...
I agree that the friendship between the female characters was amazing!
Great review tho! Lee Kyu Hyung truly aces all his roles!
As a solo performance, I actually liked him the most, and was quite disappointed with Kim Tae Hee. While she aced some scenes, overall the performance fluctuated the most throughout the show.
I do agree that it got messy closer to the end. The introduction of the new exorcist was useless (as the same plot could have been told with the existing characters), the number of ghost and their stories with all of them being barely explored or totally forgotten. They just tried to add to much into a show, that simply did not need it...
great review 👍🏻
For episode 6: He said it to other girls the same way Youngjae told Soi he wants to talk to other girls - coz they don't want to seem rude rejecting everyone. He said that, but he barely finished the sentence and went straight up to talk to Seulgi. He literally ditched all the girls, half of them he never really talked to, and went straight to Seulgi. During that conversation he also said Jungwoo is a good competitor... What could that possibly mean if not that both of them compete against each other for Seulgi. He also told her twice during just that short conversation that he had a great time with her in Paradise.
When they actually talk, it goes great. They assure each other both. But also both of them refuses to actually take the first step and both would rather play push and pull.
None of them is as bad as people claim they are. From how I see it they both actually enjoy the push and pull - if they did not, they would have said conversation, instead of hanging out with other people and making each other jealous. The same way he did not go to talk to her, she did not go to talk to him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it's a two way street and they keep missing each other.
likes the other a little bit more < sure. This is not a case of a little bit, but a lot. Throughout the show it was Jungwoo following Seulgi and doing everything for her, while I don't think she took one proactive stand herself. There is a difference.
The "a bit more" simply does not apply in their situation coz it's more than just a bit.
The idea that the guy has to do everything for the girl is not right. Seulgi and Jinwoo are not partners, and in a healthy relationship, partnership is important. But it's all just Jungwoo doing everything for Seulgi no matter what. How is that better and healthy? For whom? Maybe for Seulgi, for sure not for Jungwoo...
But then this is exactly the story and project one would assume an openly gay director who is also a LGBTQ rights activist would take. This whole show just makes me so happy.
They are slightly changing things from the webtoon, but I actually like the changes.
The kiss on the cheek was meh, I rather they did a small peck on the lips, but I was not that bothered.
But the karaoke scene I liked more here in terms of Seung Hyun and Jong Chan's interaction.
Tho I wish Jong Chan went a bit more strict against the other employees, coz in this version Seung Hyun got bullied and humiliated but no one knows about it, while in webtoon Jong Chan was aware of it
I'm more surprised about the lack of comments about Jinyoung. His and Seulgi's situation is quite similar, yet only one get "analyzed" by fans. Both had 3 people showing interest in them, both like each other the most, both clearly rejected one person, while also keeping the 2nd one close enough without the same level of straightforward rejection.
While with Jinyoung none of the girls truly know how he feels and who he likes. We know, coz we saw him interact with other girls, but they don't see the dates, so they cannot compare it. So Minsu was a true competition in Nadine's eyes, while Soi was not in Seo Eun's eyes.
I an honestly just laughing at Nadine's attempts now. I like her a lot, but damn it's too late for her to do anything 😅
For both sides, I see more people complaining about the haters than the haters themselves ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it's not a unique thing for this comment section, it happens in most comment sections on mdl. People complain about haters between leads, while the actually haters are barely to be found etc.
