Thank you!! I totally agree, all three girls have major flaws and emotional issues and trauma, so why is it only…
The friends befriending Ji Gu for Ji Yeon is from Ji Yeon's perspective. Something she assumed, but we cannot be sure it's true, as she is not a reliable narrator. and EVEN IF it was 100% and NONE of her male friends gave a fuck about Ji Gu, it is not an excuse for what Ji Yeon did ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ In situation like that you TELL your friends about your suspicions and worries. She should have talked to Ji Gu and NOT patronize her and check out her friends without giving Ji Gu any context of why she is even doing it.

I never said Ji Gu said Ji Yeon stole her crushes. Taking away someone's friends might be worse than taking away their boyfriends. Since the boyfriend can be "excused" by physical attraction - she is prettier than me. It's just a small aspect of who a person is. While is your friend drops you for someone else, it might give you the impression you as a whole, as a person are not good enough.

When my sister went on a romantic walk with the guy I liked, I was annoyed, that's it. when one day MY friends came to my house and told me to my face they are here to visit my sister - that hurt.

Ji Gu felt inferior to Ji Yeon about her femininity, not that she changed because of that. I worded it wrong and messed up there, my bad. This also shows the complete lack of communication between them as friends tho. Coz from what they showed Ji Yeon was not really aware of the inferiority Ji Gu felt. This whole scene showed how flawed and not stable their friendship is. As if they never ever talked about the issues they have with each other. Which I find ridiculous.

My issue was how egocentric and patronizing Ji Yeon was. She thought she knew what is best for Ji Gu. She did not give her a chance to learn her own lessons. She did not talk to her about her worries but instead acted the way she found fitted without thinning about the consequences her actions might have.

Honestly, my biggest issue with everything that happened in episode 10 is how for me the friendship between the 3 of them starts to make little to no sense for me, because it seems like there was complete lack of any proper honest talks and communications for 10+ years and they just swept everything under the rug and hoped for the best. And I don't think the writer can fix it in 2 episodes. So for me episode 10 not only ruined Ji Yeon's character (personally, she is the type of an egocentric person I cannot stand), but also ruined the friendship the girls had.

For me ignorance about the effects of your actions just show how egocentric Ji Yeon is. And for me this is a friendship dealbreaker. If someone is this unaware how toxic their behavior is. I simply could not be friends with someone like that. I can't talk for anyone else, but for me what they showed about Ji Yeon in episode 10 makes her the type of person I would avoid like a fire.

Everyone flaws are different, but they are not equally bad - said different consequences matter. For example someone getting extremely shy in new places and someone showing aggressive behavior when frustrated - they are not on the same level. If your flaws limit you, it's your choice to either work on them or not. If your flaws hurt others, it should be your responsibility to work on then. This is how I see it. Of course the girls never addressing Ji Yeon's actions in the past is for me ridiculous and I'm curious what would happened if Ji Gu confronted Ji Yeon in the university times. But I also feel like they would simply stop being friends at that point. Their bond was not as strong as it is now, so the friendship would simply fall apart.

I overall do not understand THIS LEVEL of lack of communication in their friendship. On all sides.

As for Ji Gu's mom - no redemption for her either. Both the mom and Ji Yeon and Ji Gu's past story told me one thing - the writer complete fails in showing growth in the character their wrote. The mom still acts like salty teenager in front of Ji Gu while missing her. Now we know Ji Yeon p[resented painfully toxic behavior for years and nothing was done about it and they never even talked about it.

IF Ji Yeon gets a proper psychological help in the show, I will be able to move on from the years of fuck up. If they try to fix it with one "honest conversation" I will lower my final rating for season 2, coz that's a level of ridiculousness I cannot take. Dropping such a massive bomb and character flaw 2 episodes before the show ends is just ridiculous coz you barely have time to give it a proper closure.

The thing is, the initial part I was replying to was not whenever Ji Yeon can be redeemed but this: "Thank you!! I totally agree, all three girls have major flaws and emotional issues and trauma, so why is it only Jiyeon getting the hate?"

why is she the only one getting hate? Because only her way of coping with her trauma and behavior had this level of negative impact on the other girls and the friendship. And it's not just the viewers who think that, the characters also think that. So Hee said that this time Ji Yeon was the one that did something wrong and she cannot stand on her side. So if the best friend of 10+ years sees Ji Yeon as the one to blame for the situation, how can the viewers not. The characters themselves told us that this is different than anything that happened to them ever and not just a flaw on the level that everyone has.

First - why did you assume I was angry? I don't tend to get that emotional about fictional stories. That use of caps in the last comment was not suppose to show my angry, but just emphasize a fact on the matter.

As for the drama.

Ruining someone's friendship by dating all of their friends also ruins their confidence. It does not only apply to romantic interests.

Her mom died far past the time the attachment forms between kids and their parents so the idea she was not able to develop secure attachment style is false.

Quoting good things one person did to excuse being toxic for years is not a way to go. This is going to be extremely exaggerated comparison, but it fits on a smaller scale for this situation: abusive husbands also are often good EXCEPT for that one thing they do negatively aka abuse their partners. It all comes down to what can you put up with. For me what Ji Yeon did would be a deal breaker no matter how amazing and perfect of a person she might have been. For me it's not measuring if on average a person is a good friend. There are behaviors I cannot look past.

You keep focusing on this one situation that happened in episode 10, but for me the bigger issues is all the past situations. The idea that since they knew each other, Ji Yeon ruined every friendship with a guy Ji Gu had. The fact she made it impossible for Ji Gu to learn her lessons and her patronizing view on how she was trying to help her. Someone in comment below also pointed it out: if this Mr. Nice Paper situation was the first time something like that happened, if it was Ji Yeon's reaction to the fear of losing Ji Gu - I could look past that. I would understand it and see how her reaction, while completely out if line, would be reasonable from her perspective. But this is not just one time event. It's years of the same behavior.

Unless in the last episodes writer will send her ass to therapy, I will not see her as redeemable. If they will try to "fix" it with one honest talk and crying in each other arms and talking about how much they love each other and they are basically like a family. I was able to ignore the "staying in the woods as an after cancer treatment" stuff, but 2 bullshit resolution to serious issues in one show would be too much. The writer made it too much of a problem for a quick fix.

That said, whatever the characters will do - good for them. Does not mean I, as I viewer need to sympathize or understand and forgive Ji Yeon. You were in her shoes, I was in similar to Ji Gu. Tho I was younger (early to mid teens) - my sister flirted and dated most of my male friends and I know what this can do to someone, and I did not even have any underlying confidence issues like Ji Gu did. The idea that you as yourself are never enough and your friend (in my case my sister) can and most likely will take away anyone from your life. I mean, even So Hee said she at some pointed stopped introducing her boyfriends to Ji Yeon.

The big issue is not that one Mr. Nice Paper situation, but years of the same bullshit.

There is a difference between getting too emotional at times (like So Hee), not being always open about your emotions and fears (like Ji Gu) and ruining your friends self confidence for 10+ years and not making it possible for her to have a normal experiences like dating and getting rejected at times and learning from it, by seducing each and every guy that ever shows up in her life, and then to make a joke about her lack of experience and how "manly" she is and how so many girls had crush on her in front of a guy she likes, while also being one of the reasons she became more manly since she always questioned her femininity compared to her friend WHO TOOK AWAY ALL THE GUYS THAT WERE EVER IN HER LIFE.

Sorry, but there are flaws and there is being a complete dick for years ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It LITERALLY changes nothing even if Ji Gu is gay and Ji Yeon still acted like a dick both in the past and in…
I think in the past it was a bit different, because they were her male friends, and potential boyfriends. But here, Ji Yeon flirted with the guy Ji Gu actually was interested in. Like, that was line that should have never been crossed, and I feel like both Ji Gu and So Hee thought Ji Yeon would never cross.

They should have talked about it earlier, but still, Ji Yeon's behavior is only on her.

It LITERALLY changes nothing even if Ji Gu is gay and Ji Yeon still acted like a dick both in the past and in the present. How fucking patronizing of her. It is literally not her place to do so. Also... if they do put this twist at the end I will call it a trash writing. Because Ji Yeon already gave an explanation to her behavior, so now the writing taking it back for the twist at the end would annoy me. There is a massive difference between between "she had no experience with guys so I wanted to protect her" and "I knew she was gay and did not want her to force herself into a straight relationship". Ji Yeon already gave the 1st explanation.

But as I said, whenever it's exactly how they said it till now or your theory - Ji Yeon is still a massive asshole, egocentric and selfish in her behavior and completely incapable of seeing things from someone else's perspective.

I still was not able to understand what her reasoning was....Ngl she did really mess it up
in the past she tried to test the dudes, to see if they would drop Ji Gu for her, coz if they would, they were trash from the start. She thought she was protecting Ji Gu (bullshit if you ask me).

in the present she saw from the start Mr Nice Paper is different and that Ji Gu is honestly interested, so she was scared is she starts dating him the friendship would fall apart (as she said: both her and So Hee, even if they date and have less time for each other, they always come back, but with Ji Gu she thought she would be gone for good). aka egocentric and selfish...

Han Ji Yeon fucked up, big time, for years and the bullshit reasoning they tried to give behind her action just pissed me off even more. I'm not sure I could be friends with someone so egocentric tbh... her mentality is one a different level of seeing everything only from her own perspective and not giving fuck about how it might affect others...

The CGI and fights are awful. Why? Because they completely fucked up the cgi models for actors. They are awful. The more still moments of the monster are fine, but put any motion to this shit and it crumbles 😅Monster is not even bad, but when they apply it to cgi Van or Johan i cannot. Also, some scenes i don't get making cgi models that look shitty and not stunt doubles...The editing is an issue two. Sometimes the movement continuation is off.

That said, it's still fun. It's silly and over the top, feels unfinished, but has high entertainment value.

I realized it after reading your comment and totally agree that both are the type of person who likes playing…
no one has real feelings for each other in this show. They might feel attracted to each other, but they did not spend enough time together to develop anything deeper hahaha and for sure both these two are attracted to each other.

some truths (in my opinion)
On Single’s Inferno Season 2 Jan 6, 2023
some truths (in my opinion)

1. No one is here to find a partner and relationship. Sure, it might be additional point, but the main goal of all contestants is to promote themselves, their business and have some summer fun. That's why everyone goes after the person that makes them feel the butterflies the most, and no one that would make the best long-lasting partner. They are being more realistic about it than most viewers lol

2. Seulgi is not evil, she is not objectively boring. People who question why so many guys like her must be blind. All of these contestants are extremely good looking and have quite a large following on social media. They are used to people chasing them around. So when we have Seulgi who does not really do it, fits perfectly into the cute-sexy popular type of a girls (cute face sexy body) and mastered the "through the eyelashes peeking" look - of course dudes are interested. Are those reasons shallow? Sure. The fuck did you expect tho from a show that puts people on the island for 7 days to date each other😂 You won't get a michelin star meal from McDonalds.

3. As much as I like Se Joong, Hanbin and Nadine, asking why no one picks them is also ridiculous. They are awful in fitting the format of this show. Se Joong feels like gave up day one, Hanbin was too focus at the beginning on cooking, while others were flirting and getting to know each other, and Nadine was busy bonding and chatting with girls 😅None of them were proactive enough at first, and tried to join the race half way through...

4. Jung Woo is not a perfect partner in any objective standards. You might find him perfect, good for you. But many would find him suffocating. I would not want a puppy that is willing to give up everything for me. In long term relationship, shit like that leads to resentment.

5. Soi is not a manipulative and obsessive bish. In newest episode she proved all she needed is a honest answer and not someone lying to her face. Yes, I agree that if she had a bit more self-respect, she should just drop Youngjae the first time he told her he wants to talk with everyone, but then only focusing on Seo Eun.

6. Yongjae was not uncomfortable about Soi liking him, but about the fact he had to reject her. Ma dude, sure it is uncomfortable to reject someone who likes you, but damn lying to her face and refusing to give an answer is a dick move. Who knows how it would all end up if he rejected her in a honest manner during their first conversation. Maybe she would be ready to move on when Sejun showed up.

7. I have no idea what the fuck is Dongwoo even doing in this show 😂

8. Jin Young is not acting like a player just because he is not following Seulgi like a puppy just like Jungwoo. People be like - he has 4 girls following him. Does he tho? Se Joong likes him but does nothing to approach him. He rejected Minsu openly after she did not get the initial hint. He is kind of interested in Nadine so he reacts well in her approaching him, but the only girl he shows active interest in (like approaching to chat) is Seulgi. When Seulgi stays in Inferno, he says he would rather stay in inferno. Both Seulgi and Jinyoung suck at openly expressing their feelings to each other, but make it obvious outside of it. None of them are playerr or act like players for having people attracted to them. I don't think it's only his job to reassure Seulgi, while she tells him in his face how staying in inferno with Jungowo was so good 😅 They both need to get their shit together, stop playing games and push and pull and just stick to each other.

Why it's a guy who needs to assure her, and not another way around? While introducing themselves Seulgi clearly…
and she has 3 guys going after her and spends most of her time in inferno with one of the guys that has been going after her from day one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ either both need to reassure each other or neither has to.
