also have to consider the hard work the staff and the singers have put in for this drama to come together < this I strongly disagree about. This is their job they get paid for, and we are customers that pay for the goods they make (aka dramas). If we don't like the product, we are free to rate it however we want. The same way if I go to a restaurant and get bad food, I won't be like" oh but I'm sure the cook did his best and worked hard.

BUT if someone decides to write a review, they better actually write a review and not just 2 lines about "this drama sucks" without any proper reason.
I actually downvote good reviews too if they just go "this is the best drama" and then either copy random symbols or the same line of text over and over again, because I care for the quality of the reviews on this website.

I might not have enjoyed this show as much as others, but damn I'm going to downvote bullshit low rated reviews that don't really explain their opinions 🤣

If they make the Crown Prince the bad guy (and not him just pretending to trust Jin Mu for whatever elaborate reason) then this show will officially have the worst character writing ever 🤣

CP from the start was never truly scared of Jang Uk's abilities. More like curious? Some rivalry going on, but it was never shown as a truly insecurity that would influence him on any large scale. Pity acts and bets? Sure. Anything that could lead to someone's death or influence the whole kingdom? Nope. Every time there was a serious situation, he has put aside his personal feelings.

Also, the fuck would be trust anything Jin Mu says. It makes no logical sense. He would trust a dude that took part if his mother being more or less tortured for years and kept in prison? Please explain to me how. He knows Jin Mu and the "Queen" were in on this together. It makes no sense he would just team up with Jin Mu.

I hope this is just massive misdirect, and he is acting as if he is trusting Jin Mu to then fuck him up later.

This show honestly proves that short BLs can be good, and the whole "it's a short BL, it's hard to tell everything in the story an present it well" as an excuse for messy plot lines other BLs have is useless.

They started to address Shin Dae Ryuk's case a little bit more in episode 9, and I hope they will dive deep into it, coz as you said, this is not some emo teen boy who overreacts a little bit.

But yeah, the show had great messages, great moments, but it feels like it's all put together with a cheap ducting tape that barely keeps it together.

They literally made no effort to make sure their child is fine after she witnessed her dad almost kill another young teen, his body flew an bloody in front of her eyes. They used the time they should use to spent time on making sure she is not permanently affected by it, on making sure he can avoid legal problems. Maybe I have higher standards for good parenting than this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The only thing that happened was the mom once asked the kid if she is okay, the kid said yes, and that's it.

I mean... I can't talk for others. But from my perspective, I can enjoy how ridiculous and entertaining this show is, while knowing it's "toxic relationship", but I could not do the same with TT because except from the typical romance toxic stuff, it also tried to include in extremely poor manner child sexual assault, gang rape, ptsd and dealing with trauma etc. Too many serious topics were completely mishandled and added only to make the story cheap angst and hot scenes "hotter" and that I cannot support.

But the fast change of heart is exactly why it's unrealistic. People like these two, who did not care about another child potentially dying, are great at finding excuses for their shitty behavior, even if it concerns their own children. Dude would most likely think that not accepting the punishment is actually better for his daughter in the long run. Sure she might feel bad right now, but they will be able to keep the stands of living they have, she will be able to go to university she wants, she won't live as a daughter of a dude that drunk driven and almost killed another kid - or any other bullshit excuse.

IF they showed the parents being TRULY concern about the daughter before the quick change of heart, I would have less issue about it. But they didn't. They showed them as these makjang comical assholes who did not care about anything, but their image.
