Great and detailed review :)

Personally, the reason why I can't see the female detective part of the plot as minor thing is the fact she was not in the original work the show is based on, which shows the story could have been told without her. so the sloppy writing of her character and her investigation bothers me more, coz they could just... not include her.

I totally agree on how amazingly well the flashbacks were incorporated. It's truly not an easy job with not make the timeline confusing, and the past scene not seem random, but the drama managed to tell extremely cohesive story both for the past and present timeline, and it all truly felt connected.

the switches and transitions between the past and the present were very smooth and easy to understand < this! Most dramas really don't know how to present flashbacks in a proper way, they just cut into them and then back to present timeline and it just does now flow well, but here they aced the transitions!

"If someone actually, preferably a psychologist, had explained to the policeman and the viewers about the far-reaching effects of being subjected to violence, about trauma, about PTSD, etc" > I get that. Personally I dislike this type if narration, that things are explained to viewers by dialogue and exposition, coz it makes me think the writers treat me like an idiot who cannot put things together myself and read between the lines, BUT I get that for a lot of viewers, with drama dealing with such a heavy subject, scene like that could be useful/helpful.

so you expect a FL character who is a cop to be weak and fragile and lean into ML? lool
I expect FL who wants to be a detective to use her brain and not jump to conclusions. Like, I don't even think she can't legally arrest him so the heck was that scene? She took evidence from the freaking crime scene, pretty sure they can't even use that in the court anymore, coz any layer would question the validity of it.

I don't want weak and fragile, I want someone with a brain.

I'm shocked they killed both guys... Jong suk did bad ... but he was a child and made a very stupid decision..…
Jong suk was literally fine with almost killing an innocent girl in coma to get info he needed to kill Kyung min 🤣 He truly grew into a monster and there was no coming back for him - he had to die. The female detective would try to expose him, then he would go after her etc.

Great review!
"The uniqueness of the story is that it doesn’t refer to these events passively, as something that happened in the past, but as something that started in the past and is still progressing. " < So true. I think they did an amazing job connecting the flashbacks and the present time scenes in a way that made them a continuation and not separate plot lines with a big time gap between.

Do you know this users main acc?
no, but no one who just comes across mdl by an accident knows right away how to write a review etc. It's a typical case of a side account - they made it today, have no info on the profile, no show on the list and just one 1/10 review.

I started it out of boredom and I'm glad I did. 2nd episode was entertaining and had some good comedic scenes.…
I mean... I have not seen the eps, but let people complain and point out things they deem as important.

One could say you got triggered about people getting triggered 🙂

When no one is in fact triggered. Everyone just complains about things that annoy them or they disagree with. They about representation about Africa, you about their comments.

I don't understand many comments here. Why such an ending if there is no season 2 ? That's not because a season…
If majority of the audience is confused and majority of the questions presented in the show were not answered by the last episode, it's just bad writing. Not lack of neurons in the viewers brain.

The production team is obviously not sure if there will be 2nd season. If they were, they would announce it right away. So setting up this kind of ending when you are not sure you can deliver 2nd season to explain anything about the plot is just bullshit for me.

Let's not deceive ourselves. The bullying plot and revenge is the main stuff there is worth to watch. I just mostly…
it does not need that much screen time tho.
I also heard Kang Jin Ah is not even in the animated version so it's obviously not that needed to make the story whole and complete and give the viewers all the necessary info ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"A "shitty" drama that entertains me is going to get a higher rating from me than a "good" drama that bores me." < not always the case with me, but damn I rate to that sentence with a few titles I rated high, even tho logically speaking I knew they ain't it 🤣

Great review :) Honestly speaking, IF they from the start said it will have more than once season, I might have rated higher, but since they presented it as a solo project with not even hints of possible 2nd season during the promotion, I judge it as such 🙃

They needed to be honest first. Shame!Let's say it's the real ending... Wow! So good mess. Best worst ending.
I hate when companies make a show with the idea of it having 2nd season, so they don't give a proper ending, BUT they don't announce the 2nd season, because it will only happen if the show gets enough attention.

If you want to play it safe, you gotta make sure if you can't deliver that 2nd season, the ending of season 1 is still at least a little bit satisfying,...

If from the start they said it will have more seasons, I would be fine-ish with what I got. I still believe one season should give some answers, and introduce new question, but here we only got more and more questions.

Since there was no info about 2nd season, I take it as a stand-alone production, and damn it sucks. It had non-existing ending. I cannot help it, I feel disappointed and robbed of my time 🤣

Hwang Kyung Min is the killer. We know it from episode 1 tbh.
As for the wife, for now they said she tried to killer herself and him, and that's canon unless they give a plot twists in last 2 episodes.

It's just the way you framed with words him killing his best friend as "making bad decision" while calling bullied too evil to be real did not quite sit right with me. I might have read too much into your comment, it just felt like you were excusing his bad actions, while condemning harshly the actions of bullies, when with proper framing they were all both victims and perpetrators and results of the toxic environment they grew up in.
The true evil was the teacher tho.

by that logic the bullies in his class were also victims of abuse since they were bullied and beaten up by the upper classmates. If we excuse him killing Cheolie coz he was bullied badly, we should excuse technically less severe actions (aka bullying others) as a result of them trying to survive in the toxic environment after being bullied themselves.

Pretty sure majority of the current abusers were victims of abuse themselves. One can be victim and perpetrator at the same time. While he needs help dealing with his past trauma, he needs to pay for his past actions too - be it even symbolic by admitting to what he did at least to the victim's family and getting suspended from work for messing up the investigation and getting involved in the investigation even after all his severe lacks of judgements based on his past traumas.
