This is going to be I think my last comment hereI am so happy that the reviews are getting positive again, it…
I am so happy that the reviews are getting positive again < there are literally only 14 reviews below 8, and at least half of them are either dropped or "on-going" so one one truly pays attention to them. The point is, the reviews were never majority negative in the first place 🙃

Also, putting everyone into the category of "hate train", when some people had valid criticisms is a bit ridiculous. I'm not calling people crazy bias fans for liking the show, would appreciate if fans were as nice and not put everyone in the same box either. People have different tastes - your 10 might be someone's 1, and someone's 10 might be your 1. There is no hate train going. Just some people liking it, and some people disliking it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The supporting relationship in Korean BoF is one of a few things that adaptation did well. Honestly, their story was so much more interesting than the main plot 🤣 It's one of the reasons I was a bit disappointed with Thai ver. coz that plot line started to slowly disappear and led to nowhere.

I feel like they tried to rebrand it while also keeping all majority of the tropes that just did not fit the more realistic approach from the beginning episode... so at the end it was neither ridiculous entertainment nor the new fresh and realistic version of the story 🙃

Great review, was fun reading it :)

I think feelings are a lot more complex and irrational than that. But my criticism would be that the main couple was pretty unconvincing. < true. I feel like the spent too much time disappointing each other, screaming at each other and overall having rather negative interactions compared to the few good ones. And I completely agree with the siblings vibes they gave.

Dear Kate,I read your review and comments on the others reviews too and could see how much you liked Thymes mom.…
I hated the mom, but I was also quite impressed, so I ended up loving her 🤣

I agree that they aced the acting. Honestly speaking, I was surprised how well Bright did as Thyme. Still, my favorite cast member was Thyme's mother. DAMN, she was scary.

I also enjoyed how we had more F4 as friends scenes. Not gonna lie, I barely remember any other version that Korean, but that one mostly focused on rivalry between ML and SML, and we did not really get that much of these 4 being actually friends. So that was for sure a nice change in the Thai ver, :)

Great review! :)

Ren's fire alarm scene was shot so well! Visually stunning. I rewatched it 3 times when I was watching that episode. Production wise, I have to say, they did everything they could to make this drama visually appealing.

ps. realistically speaking, there is no such a thing as objective rating of any art form, since there are no general objective standards 🙂 Especially on mdl 🤣
Chan_xo Apr 10, 2022
Thyme's mother was so well cast! I honestly think it's the only adaptation where she truly felt scary and I believed she could do all these things and be such a force in Thyme's life to control him like that.

I think the sow did huge disservice to itself with last... 3-4 episodes? They kept making Thyme go back to his old self every time something bad happened, and it just made me not believe in his character development. I mean, f4 had t literally kidnap him and tell him how his actions while managing the company are wrong... If this still needs to be explained to him in episode 15... I don't believe he turned good 🙃

That said, it was nice to read your review. I might have not liked it as much, but I'm glad many people had such a blast watching.

Ren was the best version of Rui. I was never a huge fan of Ren's characters and never got second lead syndrome from him or the drama other version. < THIS! Ren was just so amazing. I was never a fan of the second lead in any other adaptation, but here by the end of the show I only cared about him 🤣

Great review :)

The character developments in this drama are amazing. We can see all the character mature and grow, but still have the same core characteristics about them.

Too many times the "character development" means completely changing who the character was at first... Luckily this was not the case here 😊

Cha Mi-Jo's character was glamorised to a point that all else gets sidelined. < exactly. There was not balance in how much they showed all the 3 female leads and how they deal with the situation.

"Her lukewarm love story" perfectly describes what happened on screen. I'm honestly so disappointed how much screen time that love line got, when it was the least interesting part of the series and plot.

Review Thirty-Nine
Watching Mi-Jo make Chan-Young’s terminal illness about herself, with large parts of the drama dedicated to her feelings and how Chan-Young’s death is going to affect her felt paternalistic and annoying. < this. It honestly could have been done well, IF they did not pretend like the drama was more than Mi Jo's perspective. They kept acting as if it's about the 3 women, when it was always about Mi Jo and the rest were her side kicks...

I didn't even think about how they did not show the funeral, but you are right. They hinted the scene will happen in episode one, and then never delivered. Same with the car accident. That one I am happy never actually happened, coz I found it rather ridiculous. I was honestly thinking they might kill her in the car accident and try to push the "you never know how much time you have left" type of deal.

Truly a great review! :)

Oh God! Am I dreaming?!😧 One of my favourite reviewers on MDL just commented on my review!!And I read your…
Sometimes dramas are all about the right timing 🤣
I remember I dropped When the Weather Is Fine and then picked it up a year later and loved it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, I think the difference between us is, I had zero expectations. I knew nothing about the webtoon, I liked the cast, but not loved them. I just accepted whatever they gave. And I'd say that's a privilege I had as a viewer, coz I know having expectations might influence the experience a lot...

Glad to know you like my reviews 🥰

Thanks for reading, Kate. 😁I understood Daun emotionally, but I wanted to know a few things like his relationship…
"I wanted to know a few things like his relationship with his parents" From my perspective, that was kind of the point - there was nothing to show because he did not really have a relationship with his parents. For me us knowing his childhood and teenage years was him watching movies alone, and then them showing how he just wants his parents to have dinner with him and go to a trip (really basic things kids want to do with their parents) in that dream, was all I needed to know. But yeah, I think it's just matter of preferences 🤣 It was enough for me, I get others would like to see more (many people mentioned it in their reviews btrw).

I think Reino said it well in the edited part of their comment. With such a short screen time, it would do the show and the issue disservice to talk about the issue of acceptance of same sex couples. There is no way they could fit it into the story with proper care the issue deserves.

That said, i enjoyed reading your review a lot 😊

I really like how they showed different bad parenting issues for both male leads and how it affected them even after they grew up.

Great review as always! 😊

I actually really like how we got far less detail and certain info on Da Un. I think it worked well with that fact he was this closed guy who had issues with opening up to others. That's why only by the end we got to hear his side of it and narration. The moment he opened to Si Won, we got to witness some of it.

But yeah, that's my personal take. Maybe coz i relate to him a lot, and fir sure more than to Si Won, it was easier for me yo read between the lines 🤣

Great review btw 😊

"I loved how, at its core, this was about opening up to someone. Finding a person you can share your insecurities with who won't look at you differently because of it, someone you can comfortably be vulnerable with"

This perfectly describes the show! Great review. Blueming was one of a kind for sure.

The part that actually had me in tears was when Si-won and his mom hug and cry, but then he hear Si-won say that his mom never apologized to him. < that scene was amazing. Filmed in a great way, written amazingly, acted well. Truly hits hard!
