Ren was the best version of Rui. I was never a huge fan of Ren's characters and never got second lead syndrome from him or the drama other version. < THIS! Ren was just so amazing. I was never a fan of the second lead in any other adaptation, but here by the end of the show I only cared about him 🤣

Great review :)

Review Hikaru no Go
The character developments in this drama are amazing. We can see all the character mature and grow, but still have the same core characteristics about them.

Too many times the "character development" means completely changing who the character was at first... Luckily this was not the case here 😊

Review Thirty-Nine
Cha Mi-Jo's character was glamorised to a point that all else gets sidelined. < exactly. There was not balance in how much they showed all the 3 female leads and how they deal with the situation.

"Her lukewarm love story" perfectly describes what happened on screen. I'm honestly so disappointed how much screen time that love line got, when it was the least interesting part of the series and plot.

Review Thirty-Nine
Watching Mi-Jo make Chan-Young’s terminal illness about herself, with large parts of the drama dedicated to her feelings and how Chan-Young’s death is going to affect her felt paternalistic and annoying. < this. It honestly could have been done well, IF they did not pretend like the drama was more than Mi Jo's perspective. They kept acting as if it's about the 3 women, when it was always about Mi Jo and the rest were her side kicks...

I didn't even think about how they did not show the funeral, but you are right. They hinted the scene will happen in episode one, and then never delivered. Same with the car accident. That one I am happy never actually happened, coz I found it rather ridiculous. I was honestly thinking they might kill her in the car accident and try to push the "you never know how much time you have left" type of deal.

Truly a great review! :)

Oh God! Am I dreaming?!😧 One of my favourite reviewers on MDL just commented on my review!!And I read your…
Sometimes dramas are all about the right timing 🤣
I remember I dropped When the Weather Is Fine and then picked it up a year later and loved it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, I think the difference between us is, I had zero expectations. I knew nothing about the webtoon, I liked the cast, but not loved them. I just accepted whatever they gave. And I'd say that's a privilege I had as a viewer, coz I know having expectations might influence the experience a lot...

Glad to know you like my reviews 🥰

Thanks for reading, Kate. 😁I understood Daun emotionally, but I wanted to know a few things like his relationship…
"I wanted to know a few things like his relationship with his parents" From my perspective, that was kind of the point - there was nothing to show because he did not really have a relationship with his parents. For me us knowing his childhood and teenage years was him watching movies alone, and then them showing how he just wants his parents to have dinner with him and go to a trip (really basic things kids want to do with their parents) in that dream, was all I needed to know. But yeah, I think it's just matter of preferences 🤣 It was enough for me, I get others would like to see more (many people mentioned it in their reviews btrw).

I think Reino said it well in the edited part of their comment. With such a short screen time, it would do the show and the issue disservice to talk about the issue of acceptance of same sex couples. There is no way they could fit it into the story with proper care the issue deserves.

That said, i enjoyed reading your review a lot 😊

I really like how they showed different bad parenting issues for both male leads and how it affected them even after they grew up.

Great review as always! 😊

I actually really like how we got far less detail and certain info on Da Un. I think it worked well with that fact he was this closed guy who had issues with opening up to others. That's why only by the end we got to hear his side of it and narration. The moment he opened to Si Won, we got to witness some of it.

But yeah, that's my personal take. Maybe coz i relate to him a lot, and fir sure more than to Si Won, it was easier for me yo read between the lines 🤣

Great review btw 😊

"I loved how, at its core, this was about opening up to someone. Finding a person you can share your insecurities with who won't look at you differently because of it, someone you can comfortably be vulnerable with"

This perfectly describes the show! Great review. Blueming was one of a kind for sure.

The part that actually had me in tears was when Si-won and his mom hug and cry, but then he hear Si-won say that his mom never apologized to him. < that scene was amazing. Filmed in a great way, written amazingly, acted well. Truly hits hard!

Truly great review! :)
It's really nice to see BLs maturing, not only in terms of romantic scenes, but really in terms of its themes. < on point. I appreciate how more and more BLs are telling us more than just a romance story. The characters are interesting individuals, and they are more than just on screen chemistry.

In fact, rather than being cringey, I love how the screenwriters just absorb the clichés like a sponge and turn them into A+ grade comedy. < I mean, I still think it was full of cringe, but the good one. Silly, cute rom-coms always are a bit cringe, but if done well, it adds to the charm.
For sure agree with how the handled the clichés - A+ job.

Last two episodes, especially episode 12 were truly disappointing. Quite a writing mess. The pacing was all over the place.
While I liked the show a lot, I did not like for a lot of reasons others criticize it for. I liked how silly, brainless and easy to follow it was. How I could truly turn my brain off after work and just we entertain with whatever the throw at me 🤣
Chances are, if I watched it at any other time, when I was not as exhausted with what is going on globally, I would not enjoy it as much.

Lee Min Woo and his gf < I actually liked them by the end too. I think them being more on the realistic side with their more mundane relationship issues felt refreshing with all the over the top plots in the drama.

Really good review! I tend to write longer (sometimes essay long lol) reviews, so I am always jealous of people who are being able to express their opinions and thoughts in less words, since it's something I struggle with 🤣

I totally agree that there is earnest, beautiful energy around Sejeong - it's also clearly visible in interviews and variety shows. She is just truly herself.

I was surprised at the maturity of the romance and the funny twist to scenes that I anticipated cliché responses. <- the small twists for the clichés is what made this show so good for me :)

Also, as I am reading review, I see many people were rather disappointed with the last episode (me included). It was quite messy writing and directing wise...
