They rushed the ending < true. The last episode was quite disappointing in that aspect. the drama ended and I was like: that's it?

It's a fun watch, easy to follow and not anxiety inducing because of the trials and tribulations of the characters. < I think this is exactly why me and other people liked it so much and rated it rather high. I think we are all just exhausted with the current global situation, and with the trend of all the thriller, psychological dark dramas in the pasy year (which i also love), this just felt right for the given time :)

Personally i enjoyed this drama a lot, but i was also in a mood for a silly thing like that.
Still i agree with many points. Min Gue did not deliver with his performance for sure, and that last episode was quite disappointing. You summer it up well "But the ending was weak and unsatisfying, it just fizzled out without any real impact".

I think it's truly an achievement for a drama to follow so many tropes and cliches and yet still feel so refreshing.
Great review ☺️

The cousin was amazing, she was my favorite supporting character. She was so over the top, but in such a funny way, it was hard not to love her.
I totally agree on the last episode - rather disappointing compared to all the previous ones :(

I am genuinely so blown away by how well done all of the K-Drama cliches were in this series. < this worked coz they kept adding small (and sometimes bigger lol) twists to these tropes, so it still got that sentimental value, but felt more fresh hahaha

Special shout out to Kim Min Gue's dimple who deserves its own credit for being a valuable part of the cast. < truth 🀣

Thanks Kate 😁 Yep, the last episode was 'meh'
Yeah. I didn't hate it, but I for sure expected a better conclusion for the show.

While I personally enjoyed the show and rated it rather highly for a rom-com, I still agree with many of your points. I think it just start airing in the right time for me, when I was truly in a mood for a silly rom-com that would help me relax a bit after work :)

Review Business Proposal Spoiler
Having both Tae-moo's grandfather and Young-Seo's father disapprove of their children's relationship was a bit too much < AGREED! Honestly, when we were first played and saw the dinner where Young Seo's dad accepts their relationship, I was so happy. I thought yet again they set up a trope to break it later. But this one time they followed the well known formula, and I was a bit disappointed...

Damn, this was fun and refreshing format for a review!
The usage of a time skip. I do not mind this trope, however it feels a bit of a cop-out. < completely agree. Honestly, the whole last episode was rather disappointing for me...

It's tropey, sure, but the drama executed it so well! < this line sums it up pretty well. Honestly, there is nothing wrong with cliches and using well known tropes in dramas and movies, it's all about the execution of them :)

Review The Light in Your Eyes Spoiler
but I can't say whether that's because of the writing or my feelings towards Alzheimer's after experiencing it through my grandmother. < similar situation here. I' always hesitant with dramas that talk about dementia, because it's a sensitive subject to me.

But the choice of whether or not to watch it should be theirs to make. < completely agree. The subject is too serious for some people to just go blindly watch the show without being warned before. Luckily I knew there will be some kind of plot twist when I started watching it, and after episode 3 I was fairly sure FL has a dementia and is actually old from the start of the show. Thanks to that, I was prepared for my theory to be proven and not as affected by the big reveal.

Review The Light in Your Eyes Spoiler
The story itself was phenomenal, you cannot predict anything < this makes me sad. I think I would loved the show if I did not suspect the dementia from like episode 3. Because of that, the reveal just did not hit me at all, I was ready for it.

I think this is my favorite performance from Nam Joo Hyuk from all the titles I saw him in.

However, it gets to a point where that I think the constant barrage of melodrama honestly detracts from the message, and borders on comical (unintentionally) at times. < exactly. To be honestly there was so much angst, melo and sadness, the closing narration in the last episode just did not do it for me. It felt flat after all that suffering the characters went through.

"the slow pace of life shown reflects the actual message from the series - life is quite mundane and ordinary most days, but we must find the beauty and meaning from it where we can." < really like how you summed it up with this line.

Nam Joo-hyuk did sooooo well in this role. I'm honestly not crazy about him, and the first time I liked his acting and role was in 2521, but after watching this right after, I think he truly aced the role.

"While 12 episodes is short I felt they should have condensed it further to 8 and I would have probably appreciated the story more. " < I have to agree. There were some scenes and plot lines that were either unnecessarily detailed or overall unnecessary. I think the show would flow a little bit better if it was shorter.

"The romance didn't feel fleshed out enough and I struggled to route for the characters." I did not even think about it myself, but now reading it in your review... it make sense and I agree. I get that we observed the romance as just part of the memories she still has mixed with reality she created, but it was not grounded enough. Their romance, be it past, the fantasy she created, or just memories, a big part of her journey, but it seemed really underdeveloped.
