While I agree that her not explaining herself for her disorder is good, IF she truly has ASPD (and they won't…
Yes, but there is a HUGE difference between acting kind to make yourself feel better and acing kind to manipulate others into action you want them to perform or or trigger some kind of reaction, so I don't think these two should be compared.

And while MOST people with various mental disorder get better and shown remorse, as you said it, it does not apply for people with ASPD. Technically they can live a successful life and more or less obey the social norms, but they won't feel things their brain was not meant to feel. I never read of a case of someone with ASPD who felt remorse or learned how to feel remorse. But a lot of them learn how to fake it to gain certain things.

ASPD is vastly different from majority of mental disorders... this is one of the disorders where the person having it does not really mind and sees no fault in their behavior while the most negative impact lands on the society and people around them.

-The fact that Moon Young is unapologetically herself AND has a successful career is BRAVE & BADASS! -The fact…
While I agree that her not explaining herself for her disorder is good, IF she truly has ASPD (and they won't pull stuff like: oh she just has trauma, she never had ASPD so she can be cured), I'm not sure if we can talk about her being kind... It was all calculated and her goal was not to help said people, but to get Kang Tae's attention. She did not kidnapped Kwon Ki Do to make him feel better, she did that coz she knew Kang Tae is on his way to work so he will have to deal with that. She is checking out much she can push until Kang Tae "breaks". Same with "helping" the brother on the book signing event. She didn't help coz she felt bad for the brother. She was asking herself if she should help or not, but her focus was on Kang Tae, not Sang Tae.... The same way she did not help the girl against her father in the beginning episodes because she wanted to protect the girl and felt bad for her, she did it out of anger for the father as it reminded her of her own past trauma...
At least this is how I see it. I never read of any person with ASPD who felt bad or apologetic for their disorder tho. It's kind of written into it. They lack empathy so why would they feel sorry for who they are?

I would settle for “they both are crazy and they'll live happily ever after” BHAHAH XD
"she told me that the only reason she was doing this in the beginning was to solve her own problems" I'm getting my master's degree in clinical psychology in a month, and from what I know: it is true. I never tried to solve my problems by studying psychology (since I was involved in that area since young age and knew it does not work like that), but literally on the first year ALL of our professors said that if this is someone's goal for studying psychology: they should just quit coz it will not happen. Ethics was one of our first classes and we talked deeply about how psychologist cannot treat themselves not people they know (friends/family members).
Yeah, I have nothing more to say, just wanted to add to what you said, coz... sadly it is true.

Kang Tae is in different hospital. He moved back to his hometown and works in the hospital there.

She probably witnessed the death of her mother and her father trying to strangle her... This is enough to create…
With how they present the story, I would say she has both ASPD and PTSD. And while she for sure can get help with PTSD, not much can be done with ASPD... It's hard to tell how much of her behavior is caused by trauma and how much is caused by ASPD. We can see her acting a certain way in her childhood too. What I see tho: she has no problems with her antisocial personality, what bother's her are the trauma related symptoms (insomnia, panic attacks, sleep paralysis). Can she tone down her antisocial behavior in the future? kind of. It won't be her being now nice and empathetic, it will be her acting as if she is, coz that would be more rewarding for her. If she thinks she can gain more from acting nice than doing whatever she wants, she might start doing that. But she will still have ASPD, I'd say she would be even more dangerous and manipulative then.

just a theory BUT I think she calls him out on his "angel" act. How selfless he is and how he is so nice and loving…
yes. He disapproves of her doing whatever she wants, but deep inside he wished he could be as "free" as she is.

Why does she call him a hypocrite?
just a theory BUT I think she calls him out on his "angel" act. How selfless he is and how he is so nice and loving to everyone, when deep inside he probably just want to quit it all and enjoy some life now. Basically she thinks he puts an act. And it kind of makes sense, as in the end of ep, when he looks at Kwon Ki Do just "being so free" he says "should I play with you" (or something along the lines). That';s also why he hugged the brother and had to assure himself that the brother being there is enough for him. He wasn't saying these lines to the brother, he was saying them to himself.

I just want to say one thing: she cannot really improve... If we go realistic over forced happy Disney ending, she will not improve. Most studies suggest that some improvement can be seen if the therapy is implemented in early stages of development (not later than adolescence) but even then it just suggests that the risk for violence can be reduced. Some researchers suggest that very strict and extensive therapy could potentially reduce some symptoms BUT the problem is: why would someone with antisocial personality disorder even deal with therapy like that. Most people with antisocial personality disorder do not see the reason to seek help. Why would they even engage in therapy in the first place?

mental illnesses are not to be romanticized just bc the person having it is successful, beautiful and has a great…
The thing with antisocial personality disorder, many traits who have it have are glamorized by society. I don't see how it's romanticized in the show itself. Everyone around FL is condemning her behavior, no one says it's cute etc. The people who compliment her are the ones who did not see the scope of the acts and do not know she has any disorders. I would agree tho, that viewers are romanticizing her as someone strong and badass when it's not true.

As for "Fix You" it might have done a good job with showing the ugly and realistic side of mental struggles but it did extremely bad job in representing people working in mental health fields. I had to drop it because it was too unethical for me.

I would greatly appreciate if people who defend and like the drama focus on the drama and not start their comments with calling people who criticize it: immature, sensitive, easily judging. You don't see the same pattern of behavior from ones who dislike it. Attacking other people's character and not their criticisms is not cute.

This is not a bad show if you take the racist and pedophile parts of the story. Still, because the people involved…
to explain the age, coz I was confused at first too. In the show she is 19, and ML is 26 when they first meet. In the webtoon she is 17 and he is 27. So they made the age gap smaller in the show.

I'm team Yoo Yeon Joo. She should break up with Dae Hyun and have her awesome life next to Jo Seung Joon. I rather watch romance about them than the main couple...

i mean... I'm just talking from experience haha the theories we all had as we were watching turned out to be more…
I mean we guessed the ending pretty early on...
so when it happened we were like: yeah... we knew.
Also, the white truck of doom was especially funny in this movie, so when it happened and mood or suspense just left the room hahaha

exactly. Imagine if it was a dude smacking girl's face around until her nose bleeds coz she said her boyfriends name in sleep. This scene bothered me soooo bad. More than the high schooler kiss tbh.
