I need someone to explain to me the rules of elimination of Signal Song Placement coz I am confused as fuck. Not gonna lie, I was not paying that much attention when they were explaining the rules since I'm not voting anyway, but after seeing so many C group contestants being eliminated, it's just confusing.

We had judges placement and viewers right? The jugest was obvious, all shown. How were viewers putting them into specific categories? Was it just based on views? How were they calculated into categories? How much impact had judges placement over viewers placement? As you can clearly see, I am 100% confused what happened

it was just so not fitting the characters and the mood of the drama 🥲
Them making the revelation more organic and more of a progress was for sure smart choice.

The whole Ferris wheel scene proved she was a human and a vile one! < this. Tho there is one thing I wanted to see, her giving a small smirk in that slow-mo fall. Like bitch wanted to give one last trauma to Misa and that smirk would be the cherry on top of her psychotic behavior.

I loved the last scene between Misa and Reina. I loved how Misa said, that maybe if they both let themselves go and cut the friendship earlier they both would be more happy. I think there is some truth about it. Like, it had so much more emotional depth than whatever Korean version tried to present 🥲

She made me wonder if she ever considered Misa as her friend. < she was the type of person would would rather make sure her "friend" suffers with her, rather than making sure they are happy. And since suffering is all she knew, that's what she made FL feel too 🥲

For audition part the outfits are most likely not provided by mnet, but they trainees and the companies themselves. At least this is how these shows usually did it, unless something changed.

Also... did she steal the baby ghost as her fake deity? But didn't they say you cannot communicate with baby ghost so it would literally not work for her 😅

💚How he put him into comfy pajamas and prepared clothes for him for the next day
💚The way he was not pushing after what happened, just slightly flirty, but keeping the proper "distance"
💚Bringing him sweets to work coz Docs busy
💚I'm not even mad he followed Doc to the bar, coz it was obviously because he saw how he was in a bad mood and shit might do down bad.
💚 Then when he saw he was drinking WAY too much he stopped him (which I don't give a fuck about "he is a grown ass man so he can decide how much he drinks. If I saw someone I care for and know drink alone that much, I'd step in too).
💚 He took him home and did not try ANYTHING, just took care of him,
💚 HE FUKCING PUT HIS HANDS UP SO DOC CAN PUKE INTO THEM (he did not at the end, but damn he was willing to catch his puke... 😭😭😭 that's love)
💚 again, got him into comfy clean clothes so he can rest.
💚 When Doc was clearly starting to have a bad trip saying he needs to make him apologize, he just hugged him and kept apologizing.
💚 He then prepared him a fucking breakfast for the next day.
💚 He did not tease him like an asshole or belittled him, it was just so fucking domestic.

I AM IN FUCKING LOVE WITH THIS MAN.
AND HE IS SO HOT I WANT TO CRY 🥲

especially when, despite his best efforts, people still die. < some of these people truly were determined to die 🥲 thinking about these old folks who decided to go back to collapsing building 🙂

(I learned to ignore it, more on par with the stylist for sure—just pretend it ain’t there even though you are very aware it is because that is so much easier). < well well well, that's also my coping mechanism about family drama 🙂

Namgoong Min had a number of shitty projects in the past, and then slowly he started to pick better scripts and now I honestly trust his choices and I'd pick a drama just coz he is in it (like Our Movies lol Even tho melodramas are not exactly my genre lol).

I LOVED Hot Stove League! Gave it 9.5/10 🤣

Not ever exaggeration and over the top plots are truly makjang. I also differentiate between "low-key fancy makjang" and just makjang. Like The Penthouse is just makjang. SKY Castle is fancy makjang 🤡

how did you end up starting this right when it began airing? < mostly coz of the cast? I trusted that Namkoong Min will scar my soul meaningfully 🤡

especially since it's a common set up for a manga adaptation characters. < yeah this is kind of how I see it and would use the term. Coz with just "cold but actually warm" than it's like 70% of rom-com leads and the term is kind of meaningless 🤡

The definition of makjang google gives me fits my understanding: "a subgenre known for its over-the-top, melodramatic, and often absurd plots, extreme character actions, and high levels of conflict." for me makjang is far end of overdramatization. Like, The Penthouse is a clear case of makjang. I'd say the lack of realism is a big part of it for me - it;s so dramatic, so over the top, shit goes down every few second and each new revelation tops the previous one.

You know what's funny? I'm one of the people who never watch anything I know will end on a tragedy 🤡 I'm fine if I pick something and they will surprise me with a sad ending (I'm not fine, but I cope lol), but I never willingly start something that I know for a fact has a sad ending 🤣 And now that I think about it, it might be why I liked the ending more than you 😅

Also, I am pretty sure her dying is not a spoiler. First tag is literally "terminal illness" and the description clearly states the illness in incurable 👍🏻

Namgoong Min’s performance is a masterclass in subtlety and restraint. He imbues Lee Jeha with a stoicism that’s soft and quiet rather than cold < this 💯 Maybe I have a different understanding of "tsundere" - more exaggerated than it should be, but I would not put Je Ha in that category (taking about tags here).

The point is that classic sentiments communicated well can still have a meaningful impact. < this too 💯 I think one of the reasons I stay away from tragic stories now is the fact... they just don't make them the same way. I feel like melodramas now are borderline makjangs - there is no balance, just pain and sometimes it;s just a trauma porn.

because while they had a legitimate purpose, that purpose could have been fulfilled with a bit less focus < again 💯 agree. I also think the romance between the stylist and photography director was unnecessary. They kind of followed the same patterns that leads did, but genres swapped and no illness - she was cynical about love, he was sentimental and believed in it.

this drama does have some annoyingly blatant product placement. > oh god. I was fine with most of it until the fucking hand warmers for the scene between Da Eum and Jae In 🤡 Like damn... I found that scene to be really important and meaningful, but to start it with a fucking PPL? 🙂
