I mean sure the crushes were there as a consequence of Da Eum, but personally I thought other plotlines were either more important or more interesting and could have used that time instead. And then... one romance is fine. Let the manager and the assistant director be the cute side couple but except for main romance we had 3 relationships going on, and I feel like that's too much.
Also, I agree on the paragraph about Seo Yeong and Jeong U and I would much rather see more of them in depth, by cutting out one of the side romances from the crew. I just don't see how this drama needed 4 separate love lines 🤡
The stylist is to some extent basically a female version of Je Ha in terms of her thoughts on love and how it changes.. her plotline does not really brings anything new to the picture.
I think these two can lead to only one type of an ending.
Tho for me it was more bitter-sweet than tragic
That moment when they were deciding seats and we got a last minute twists was on brand for Mnet tho 🤣
Highlights:
🔥Park Dong Gyu existence
🔥Daegu Chingu - his performance is what we all love about these shows.
🔥Lee Sang Weon's adlib 🤣
🔥Them not really showing the bad performance (except for like 2, but they were also entertaining lol)
🔥How the "kids" aka 15s are ACTUALLY fucking good. Usually the kids are cute and cute only and I want them gone after episode 1. This time it's different.
🔥Yeom Ye Chan/Kim Tae Jo is a comedy goals duet.
Screenshot shows my rankings. Not always matching the judges lol

About why I gave Lee Sang Weon 2 stars... you can REALLY hear they cleaned his voice post production. This like metallic/robotic sound. And here's the thing - it does not even mean he did bad, you cannot fucking tell how he did, you can just hear they fixed whatever imperfections there were. I get they probably did coz they did not want to fuck him over since even if he was good Lee Rion was so fucking great, but now I cannot even judge how well he actually did....
They also did Swi Ching Wi dirty. If it was not for his solo dancing I'd give him 2 stars too. Like they literally showed him only say "oh ah yeah" during the performance - like dude can be tone deaf as far as I know hahaha
Controversial All Star from me: Kang Woo Jin (for the vibes omg love him).
But he was probably one of the most charming and natural on stage. That is his asset. Just as the judges said - it does not matter how much skill you have when you do not have the charm basically to sell it, if you seem too desperate. Kim Geon Wu was that for me - it was a clean and good performance, but damn it was boring because i did not feel like he himsefl even enjoyed performing 🤡
Anyway, cannot wait for the C performances! 🔥
Not gonna lie, I was scared the episodes will be completely depressing, but I'm glad they were able to perfectly balance the lighter a bit more comedic moments with all that angst and pain 🥲
Props to Pyo Ji Ho. He failed me in first two episodes, but he kept winning me since then. Truly a great guy. Wish him the best. Probably he will end up with the class president 🤣🤣
If I had to guess the ending, Seong A's adoptive mother will die scarifying herself to help/save Seong A 😭
Also yes, I am awful, but can he be possessed for a little bit? Coz damn he hot when he evil 🔥🙂🔥
The Sunset is basically Da Eum's life. When Da Eum said that the sunset is about to end so he needs to run - he knew it was not about the sunset at all. That's when he understood that there is no point in waiting, that their time is limited. That he cannot hesitate and wait, or he will miss it, he will miss Da Eum 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I don't even if her motivation matters at all, because the ones that were wrong from the start were Da Eum and Je Ha about hiding her illness. Objectively speaking everyone involved in the production has the right to know about Da Eum's medical condition.
I think Seo yeong could’ve been a great sfl if she had just continued being kind to Daeum, while being a cool character who knows how to deal with her feelings. < she would be boring. She would be a perfect support for Da Eum having no individuality. Right now she is interesting and complex. On one had she likes Da Eum, on the other hand she is jealous of her. Which leads to contradicting feelings she does not always know how to handle. Basically you are saying you want her to be perfect, mature, collected, kind, supportive with zero flaws. That's... bad writing 🙂 As of now she did nothing to validate people making her a villain of the whole story. But that's how people resent her in the comments ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The reason I enjoy this show is for the fact I actually see validity in everyone's actions based on their personal situation. It makes the whole scenario so much more complex and interesting to follow. Saying everyone is just jealous nasty bitch and poor Da Eum can do no wrong is literally insulting to the script of the drama 🙂
Why people want to turn interesting complexity into a simple black and white scenario so bad?
The only person Seoyoung has ACTUALLY wronged is Jeongwoo. < this. If people were annoyed at her for this, I would be 100% fine with it. Because here there are no excuses.
People have conflicting feelings and she is a great representation of that. On one hand she is jealous of how Je Ha treats Da Eum. On the other hand she also actually likes Da Eum. She does not know how to act and what to do because she has no real idea of what is going on.
Like when was she even bullying Da Eum? Because she refuses to turn a blind eye to what's going on? We see Da Eum as a victim of this situation because we know exactly what is going on. The characters don't. All they know is a rooking actress won a leading role against many more experienced actresses, is extremely close to the director and the whole production is set to accommodate her. In this case, everyone has the right to demand answers.
The fact is - everyone was deceived by Je Ha and Da Eum. They were wrong about not telling everyone involved about Da Eum's situation. While I understand why they didn't, it does not make it right. Everyone involved has the right to chose if they want to be part of it knowing the risks.
I think people see everyone way too black and white when not one character here is as pure as we want to think, Da Eum included. Personally that's what makes this drama fun to watch, because I can analyze the situation from the different perspective and see the valid points everyone has.
Her motivation in accepting the role does not really matter that much to be honest. Would she risk it and get involved if she knew the truth from the start? He did not manipulated nor lied to Je Ha about accepting the role. Everyone knew she got involved in the movie because it was directed by him. On the other hand Je Ha and Da Eum are in fact lying to everyone involved. That's the difference here. She is rather clear about her mothations, they are the ones being dishonest.
And my comment was not about her questioning their romantic feelings - that I don't think she should get involved in any way. But her questioning Da Eum's health - that's what the ending scene was focused on. And that she has all the right to be informed about.
Je Ha might be director and has a lot of control over casting, he also has a responsibility to inform everyone who he tries to get involved about potential risks associated with his casting choices. Which he did not do. It's not an indie school project Je Ha and Da Eum are making. It's a film production with a decent budget, investors, crew etc. And everyone is blindsided about what they got themselves into.
Je Ha and Da Eum do not just risk their own time etc, they are putting a lot of people in risk.
But then the way he tried to hide the smile when she invited him to eat with her and Eun Ho 😭
they are so painful to watch. When they were sitting in the movie theatre and Da Eum was imagining how their movie will be received and wondering about the future - will it bomb, or will it be successful, how it will affect them... When she knows she won't be there to witness it all. But Je Ha just goes along and tells her: let's find out together. Which gives me "let's face the future together, whatever it might be" 😭 but the way his words just made her sad and scared, because she still knows what the future holds for her... The way this time he took a step forward, but she was the one to take a step back.
Pushing forward when he was "rejecting" her was easy, because she could feel the sense of fulfilment from giving her best, without needing to actually face the reality that they cannot be happy together in the future. But now that in that scene he did not reject her, it all became way too real.
"Will you believe everything I will tell you right now?" AND THEY CUT THE SCENE AND WE SEE HIM LEAVE OMFG I CANNOT 😅
I got so into the episode I forgot to write my reactions lol Anyway, shit's going down at the end.
Do I think Da Eum and Je Ha are selfish for trying to make this movie together? Yes. Do I think Da Eum has the right to act selfish here? Yes. Do I think people need to cater to her selfish wants just because she is dying? No. What they are doing is honestly extremely unfair towards the whole production team. And this is why I like Chae Seo Yeong tbh. She does not want to harm Da Eum, she helped her many times. But as of now she is not willing to risk it all for Da Eum either, and it makes sense and she should not be expected to. I'm honestly extremely curious where her arc will lead.
It might seem annoying how busybody she is, but I do think she has all the right to know the truth. Everyone involved in the movie has the right to know...
