First of all, I am really liking the transitions. Like starting with showing a scene to then changed it into a cinema screen. Or when Lee Je Ha went home and the flashback starts with him as a child passing his adult self in from on the house, some filters put on the film, and then the flashbacks ends with his teenage self passing his adult self in the house. It's just smooth and well incorporated into the scenes and the flow.

I really like both FL characters. There are completely opposite from each other, but both written in a realistic and relatable manner.

Not sure about Lee Je Ha yet, since he is basically cynical emo, but I'm sure he will grew on me. Namkoong Min is so hot tho!

Plot seems predictable, BUT the whole episode one pointed out the cliche and mainstream "what sells" way of thinking as a flaw, so I guess they setting it up as a typical story to turn it 180 as the drama progresses. OR they will go "typical and cliche", but with the idea that there is a value in it, if presented well. There is reason why this stories become popular, because the reach a lot of people and make them invested in the story.

And the way episode 1 ended... goosebumps. Fuck... this drama is going to break me 😭

it's just my pet peeve when dramas don't take their setting seriously. Because this is some "I'm 10 and I'm writing…
I want to be clear - I love the "10 years old fan fic" romance, as long as they don't introduce any serious topics. I feel like stories like that fit full on fantasy more coz then you can ignore all real life limitations 🤣

I had similar issue with The Next Prince (which I dropped) coz while the romance was fun (both main and supporting leads), the whole set up was dumb. Like why is this Asian country so Eurocentric in terms of all the culture and aesthetics? 😅 How is the whole economy based on rare materials? How it even survived when they were basing who the king is on their kid's fencing abilities? < all of that screams "written by a child" 🤡

Meh for me is 5.5-6.5 😅

even if you occasionally stomp on my faves like Godzilla in a hanbok.😂😭 < omg that;s great 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I like your review in every series that you watch, but sometimes you’re a bit harsh — like hello, are you…
it's just my pet peeve when dramas don't take their setting seriously. Because this is some "I'm 10 and I'm writing my first fanfic, I don't know how to do the research so I'm just writing what feels ok" 🥲 That's also the reason I for the past few years skip majority of Korean saeguks and period dramas - they are too modern in approach and use old times just for aesthetics 🙂

But I rather them just use them as aesthetic than trying to actually introduce important topics and then do not actually commit - which is exactly what this drama did. Be a time-travel romantic escape or tackle hard topics and be serious... But personally I dislike when dramas try to balance the two. Kind of like korean rom-coms that are never just rom-com and they often try to also be a crime and mystery show - it almost never works.

As for 7.5 - in my brain it;s not a low rating 😅 There are many dramas I really liked I rated 7.5 (A poem a day, 365 repeat the year, age of youth, Futmalls.com... and honestly maaaaany more). That said, ratings for me are 10000% personal and subjective and I go full on "this feels right" so even if everyone says a drama is a masterpiece and I also think it's objectively good, if I did not vibe with it, I did not vibe with it and that's that 🤡

And thank you for not killing me for the review 😅

I also gave this a 7 (I couldn’t stand to go lower when it was recommended to me even though I said “no dubbing”…
then bam, someone acting nothing like her, zero of her mannerisms or ways of speaking carrying over < this. There was no connection in how the character was portrayed by two actresses... They were simply completely different characters.

Not gonna lie, did not pay attention to dubbing at all. But that's probably coz I was not that invested in the show anyway. My brain worked on like 30% while watching.

I had my doubts about watching this cuz I thought it was like any other expected romance drama but after reading…
now I'm scared 🤣 coz it;s not some masterpiece, but it is a really fun and entertaining and well made rom-com. And that's why I liked it so much. Coz it's not easy to find just a fun rom-com lately. Production team always tries to make them into something "more", when the simple rom-com is literally the best for the genre 🤡

episode 1 is full on comedy, episode 2 tones it done a bit. episode 3 feels less 🤡🤣 and more 😭🤬🔪…
I was quite surprised by episode 1 too. With how the first poster with Bo Gum looked like, I did not expect it to be this silly. It did got a lot better with episode 3 tho 👍🏻

Watched the first half of the first ep, do they ever move out of the silly slapstick-with-not-so-witty-dialogue…
episode 1 is full on comedy,
episode 2 tones it done a bit.
episode 3 feels less 🤡🤣 and more 😭🤬🔪 in terms of audience emotional reaction. It got darker and heavier in tone. I'm sure by episode 4-5 it will be a bit more light anagin, but I doubt with how they currently set up the plot they will go back to a full on police comedy. Not to the extent episode 1 was presented.

I watch episode 3 again and at this point I don’t now if min ju-young is good or bad or what he is
Definitely bad. Based on everything they showed it's clear he used other people to get away with his own crimes. On the gas station the way the suggested Gyeong Il was not the first one to go to prison for him. Hanna's father's case was obviously also related to him. How he now looks into Hanna because she might have seen the case file. He is the evil mastermind.

The way episode 1 was borderline sitcom and now episode 3 leaves me with 😭🤬😭
Also, I totally want Park Bo Gum to play a character similar to Oh Jung Se's here 🤡

Not gonna lie tho, I do not fine Min Ju Yeong that compelling as a villain. He seems to take a lot of risks for someone who apparently puts a lot of work to minimalize and remove the risks 🤣

Bo Gum is just 🔥

Plot wise, Min Ju Yeong clearly got a lot of people into prison/framed for his crimes, and that would include Han Na's father. Quite excited for the dynamics between him and Dong Ju.

Somehow the characters didn't work out for me as well, though I loved the baby and his mother. He was so cute…
I do think the characters were there to narrate and show other stories of the other characters and I'm not quite mad about it. There was no big massive character development, but some subtle changes in approach and perspective as they interacted with more people. But I do think it would work better as a slice of life and sitcom 🤣

They should have been honest and just say it was a sitcom 🤡 All the complains would not be there is the genre was set correctly. This borderline caricature of personalities etc are typical for sitcom, but when someone views the show as just rom-com they expect something more grounded in reality.

anyway, yeah... misbranding for sure 🥲

Second episode was so much better than the first one.
But I'm I getting more into the drama
or more into Bo Gum? 🤣

To be fair, been a fan for 10 years already. 1/3rd of my life. He is my weakness 🥲

"Casting wise… you do not put the stronger actress to first portrayal the character that will be replaced by…
Putting aside that one is better than other skills wise, I think what bothered me more is the complete disconnect between how one and the other portrayed the character. Made me feel like they did not even have a short chat about how both of them understood the character and how she should be showed during the drama.

What’s more, I honestly did not care that much about the “big picture”. Separate cases were interesting,…
I think after first 2-3 episodes I just overall expected something more dynamic both from the characters and the plot. But it was such a steady pace and leads did not develop nor changed at all...

Title Leap Day Spoiler
Logic is not really this show strength I agree on that lmao. From what I understood both Day and Night's moms were…
Even if you "induce" the delivery, getting it EXACTLY at 12am and 12pm is still close to impossible 🤣 " It's a bit of a stretch, but not impossible." it's not like specific details are impossible, but the sum of all these things is close to impossible.

Maybe that's the day for the curse to spread? Both get cursed, but curing will only cure one. But curing yourself will also lead to two more people getting cursed. So from 2 people, if they decide to cure themselves, 4 more will be cursed.

Title Leap Day Spoiler
Logic really stopped happening or what?

So 2 ways to "get" Leap day:
1. Naturally born with it.
2. Getting it transmitted onto you.

But somehow Day and Night are both? Coz when Kittiphop was explaining it he said Night and Day got it in the natural way being born 12AM and 12PM on Leap Day. But Doc said he transmitted it onto Night? So which one is it? Or they are overly complicating it, when it's just one way to be cursed but for some reason they are giving two.

Also... the cure for it is literally less realistic to happen than the leap day cure itself. You want to tell me he found 2 pregnant ladies in one hospital, due on the same day. Somehow he was the one to deliver both babies at the EXACT time he needed as if he can force a baby to come out at the exact time. Like... I am sorry, but what 🤣

You have perfectly captured what I felt about the drama. Your review has also helped me reframe how I thought…
After first two episodes I was kind of expecting a big character development, but then around half way through I started to understand we won't get it. And I think to some extent that made me enjoy the drama more 😅

This is fictional country. Emmaly is blending in Thai and other various cultures royalty and more. ☺️
Put aside Thai then and create a fictional culture that is a mix of different Asian cultures. So it make sense for that geographical setting. There is exactly zero reasons except for aesthetics for it to be this European
