This scene perfectly represents them - one does not do shit because he overthinks everything, and the other does not do shit, coz he does not understand there is shit he needs to react to, coz there is nothing in that brain 🤣

I am sorry, but the whole second half of the episode I went "the fuck did you smoke, are you high" coz even considering finding a razor in the food you yourself made as just "bad luck" is fucking wild, coz bad lack is something that can happen in the realm of normal experience, FINDING A FUCKING RAZOR IN YOUR FOOD IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN JUST "HAPPEN" 🤡

One of the moment that pissed me off was when Chan Young started to "complain" how he does not really know a lot about Heesu, and how Heesu never says anything and I'm like -HAVE YOU EVER EVEN ASKED HIM ANYTHING. Like... people usually do not open up about themselves to people who show zero interest in the first place.

I'm actually not that mad about Ji Yi's frustration, because it was valid. At the end of the day she became a victim of Seung Won's lie and his lie was negatively impacting her life. Personally I think she had all the right to be pissed about it. It's not like she was saying you need to tell him you don;t like him AND that you like him. He did not hace to confess to his feeling, just say that he does not like her. That's it.

capitalizing on the appeal of the source material < this is what annoys me the most. It';s basically saving money on promotion since the source material is popular, and then gaining profits while disrespecting the audience that generated the profit in the first place.

Like, I can understand introducing straight couple as SIDE couple. It does not matter how dedicated the production team is if no one wants to throw money at them to actually make the show BUT for fuck sake, keep them as a side couple. Like - they are there to fill the space, make the story more "believable" - as in the leads do not exist in their own bubble, but there are people around them who also seem like real people that have their own thing going on. But it should NEVER feel like the overshadow the main story. And that's how so many people felt with this show. I honestly got annoyed how not only romance wise, but as individual characters the straight ones had more going on and their story seemed more completed with them not only having the love line, but also their own separate stories.

you know what's worse? They literally decided that the footsteps will be THE ONLY SOUND for the opening scene. No music, not even any ambient noise lol

Yeah but I think they went step too far. I was honestly not mad about them adding straight couple as a way to make it more approachable for wider audience. The original webtoon did not have the straight couple, so adding it as a side couple is already changing the source material a lot. But then they not only added straight couple, but also at least for some episode gave it more focus than the main lead (like even outside of Heesu's romance, some episodes had less of him alone than the straight couple).

If you need to go this far, just do not adapt the gay webtoons, make your own straight youth drama with gay side coupe.

The adaptation was mostly based on vibes and not the source material < oh my fucking god this is so fitting 🔥

It's honestly sad. I don't get why they won't just make their original youth dramas if they want to focus on the straight characters, why adapt original BL stories 😭

I am convinced that romance in nor romance focused dramas is always FUCKING BEST.

I am living for I Yeong and Koo Do Won 🔥 that fucing elevator scene? The tension, and the realistic soft angst with what he said after stepping out of it. But also that scene in the 4th year residents area - how he was pretending to sleep, but also you can fucking see how conflicted he is.

But also the last part of the episode, poor girl... and then we get to see I Young also breaking down because of her mother's death and the memories.

Damn this was such a good episode. 1h 20 minutes, but feels so short 😭
I love the slice of life vibe.

One of better perfectomance I saw this year. Was planning to skip The Prisoner of Beauty coz I'm not the biggest fan of Liu Yu Ning, but I might check it out for her.

Her crying scenes were AMAZING! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

And so the drama ended. And the last 6 episodes were all over the place.

I am not even joking, there was one moment in one of the last episodes when I honestly thought they were trolling me.
They just gave me a conclusion to a completely different show with different themes and tone 🤣

Still Ban Xia was FUCKING GREAT. One of the best FLs I have seen this year, if not the best. She was so real, relatable, emotionally strong and adorable 😭

If I had to retitle this story, it would be "ChanYoung and his love story in Class 2...featuring Heesu" < bosh not both of us starting the reviews in a similar way 🤣🤣

very time there was a heart-fluttering moment or a genuinely sweet interaction between them, the drama in the next episode would abruptly cut away to the other couple. < this! It was like they were baiting us with good episodes to follow up with straights playing tennis and guitar 🤡
