What makes me the most angry is... it's just a dumb method of evaluation of skills... 68 people dancing at the same time? You won't see shit! Like, it's unfair no matter how you look at it, and while it;s true the whole industry is unfair, the judges themselves should objectively evaluate the skills of the trainees, and the "luck" should play as little of a role as possible. You cannot objectively evaluate shit when you need to judge 68 people at the same time during performance that lasts 3 minutes and 27 seconds. The whole evaluation is just unprofessional in all aspect.
I guess it depends on where they will lead by the end.
Kind of want them to NOT end up together.
Do Hoe has way too many issues right now, he needs to figure his shit out first.
Previous episodes I was pissed at Ju Yeong for keeping in contact with Do Hoe's dad and basically being like a new son to him. This episode I am pissed with Do Hoe coz damn dude's behavior is toxic as fuck...
Being an idol does not mean you stop being a human with hardships... Instead of saying that they knew what they sign up for, how about actually addressing how fucked up the industry is and how it should be changed? Just because something currently is a norm does not mean is should be and it's correct.
The way we are blind to bad things happening around us in hope for improvement. The way we trust wrong people, because we don't really have a choice.
Like... yes I was frustrated with the child, but it's not like the adults did any better... And it's not like any of them had many other options to choose from.
however, I find it interesting that he demanded this benefit for himself instead of his teammate because he was so successful beforehand. < as i said... water song had honestly ONE main part and the rest was all support, while in fire the parts were more even. It makes sense to use it for water performance. That's why the other team that was 1st and could pick their parts ALSO wanted to use it for water.
As for lifting the shirt... ALL of them were showing the barely existing skinny abs, I just found it so funny π€£
Also... as they themselves said - Fire song had more evenly distributed parts, while Water was Part 3 and the boys...
Also seeing jow everyone in her family has no issue punish people in professional setting for personal matters... I would place my bets on her potentially doing the same
It had some fun comedic moments that I really enjoy. Comedy is subjective, a lot of people loved the dildo scene, I found it offensive. But I did like some of the more dry humor from few scenes.
The biggest issue for most groups here is - they don't really have the identity to show Β―\_(γ)_/Β― Or the one given by their agency does not even fit them.
Perfect example - Younite. Outside of the show they are more bubbly and refreshing and it honestly does not match them. This round was their weakest performance. This show is a great opportunity to re-establish their identity. Personally I think the dark concept first the best. I don't mean dark sexy shit, I mean dark leaning into horror, shit like vixx voodoo doll.
8Turn... except for their first performance in round one, I don't remember anything from them πAt the same time that performance in round one is my 3rd favorite one from the whole show. I feel like every next round they tried to do more and more and they get lost in their own ideas... And whatever they want to show becomes unclear.
Cravity are The Boyz of this season becased on the creativity π Talk To Me performance was SO GOOD. I like how they can utilize simple props in various way (this round with the cube for example). At the same time, no idea if it's just me, but they seem like the favorites of the production team π
Oneus is Oneus, they are THE seniors in the team, they know what they want to show and how to show it. Mad Max themed performance WAS GREAT, they knew exactly what their strengths are and how to use them. Hwan Woong is obviously ace of aces in the show...
Tempest... sadly just forgettable. I honestly do not have anything to say coz nothing stands out and that's the biggest issue.
The CrewOne aka the dance team πKind of all over the place. They said it themselves - after their performances what you think is: they are good at dancing... that's it.
The New Six - poor babies. I HONESTLY believe they are fucked coz they are under PSY's company. He is GREAT at giving creative freedom to his artists and it works... for fucking established artists. It does not work for a rookie groups. These just seem like they lack support and directions. I actually love The Next Six's music and I do think they musically wise have a specific and established identity, but who cares when they cannot really present it well coz they don't get enough help and support from the company. And it does real like that - them kids being left alone to figure shit out.

Outside of the groups and their performance, what a shitty camera work they have this time and the editing team also has no fucking idea what they are doing. No idea what the fuck happened, but they fail to highlight the good aspects of the performances so bad, it's sad. In majority cases I would suggest just watching the FullCam version mnet uploads.
Also, not the biggest fan of the whole ace shit. Just make a separate fucking show to pick ace of aces among idols for fuck sake. Most teams are not in the business long enough to figure out the proper balance between highlighting the aces, but making sure the other members do not seem like just a background. They focus what too fucking much on the aces, or too little. It does not work more often than not. And it makes the whole voting/elimination system a fucking mess. Which I also still don;t get.
The audience is DEAD π₯² None of them enjoys the performances... the shit we see in the ep is one thing, how stiff and with barely any reactions we see in these one take full cam versions is another... I am honestly amazed with all these groups being able to deliver such an energetic performances with audience like that. π€‘
I actually love how at times pathetic the ML was hahahah Good to see him play a realistic dude you can actually meet, compared to all them flawless MLs he did in the past π€‘
I totally agree the romance was great. I loved the initial friendship, loved when they got together, but I do think the transition itself was... lacking a bit?
Been ages since I related to a character as much as I did to Seok Ryu. This drama was legit like a therapy for me.
The way it exposed all my pathological ways of thinking, insecurities, fears and internal struggles was scary, but so beautiful.
This ain't even a romance for me. Slice of life is so much more fitting. Personal struggles and the family setting were just as important as the romance here and I honestly probably loved these aspect more.
I lived not only for the leads, but also the supporting characters and their stories. ML's parents? One of my fav romances this year π
Honestly, I think I wrote all my thoughts in the review (hopefully spoiler free... I tried), so you can read that. I'm too tired to rewrite it for the post π
