I think Kingdom: Legendary War might have set the bar too high πŸ™‚
I think one of the reason was the groups had established colors and they knew what they want to present, while teams in this season are still more or less searching and exploring and it shows.

The chemistry is chemistrying hard! πŸ”₯ Girl is falling and starting to get flirty! 🀣
Her outfits tho, DAMN! I want every one of them 😍

I find it funny how many people are now involved in finding her husband and how many behind the scenes deals are happening 🀑

Want to know more about ML's past for sure. How tragic was it? πŸ™‚

ALSO THAT CAR SCENE πŸ”₯

Actually I'm quite disappointed by the story of ML's parents. If your marriage isn't good for like more than 20…
I don't think it's solved. I think they literally went back to a honeymoon/dating phase. And after that, the reality will hit them again, that they do have quite a lot of differences they need to talk about. Tho I doubt it will be shown 🀣

yall now that sseung's mother has no terminal disease then what was that memorial shown in ep1 for!1?!!? holy…
why everyone thinks it was for anything other than showing ML wants to take fell good projects with good moral value, coz he has idealistic viewpoint? 🀑

Title Love Next Door Spoiler
So, "quick" thoughts on all characters and their relationships after episode 12.

πŸ™‚ First of all Seung Hyo - consistent with his flaws, and I like it. He gets easily swayed by his emotions and has issues controlling himself when it happens. The way he made Seok Ryu's cancer about himself and how hurt he was, the way he made his parents and his mother's accident about himself and how hurt he was. He piles up all the emotions and then let them go in the most inappropriate moment 🀑🀣

A moment I loved from episode 12 - when he set a clear boundary with Seok Ryu in how he does not want to talk about his ex and describe how it was to date her. I like how he was firm about it without turning it against her. He could easily call her out in a bad way, but instead he was really firm about what he wants and does not want to do, instead of commenting on how she acts and how she is.

πŸ₯Ή Seok Ryu - my baby girl. Realistically speaking the plot will be moving away from her now. Focus more on ML and them together. But I loved all that I saw so far. I think she is such a perfect representation of how much damage to a person can parentification during the childhood do. I related to her story on a whole new level, I never related to any other character as much. Hope she will unleard her, honestly speaking pathological ways of always wanting to deal with issues herself.

🀣 Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu - holy fuck how awkward they can get now that they started to date! πŸ™ƒ I love it. But what I loved the most was the last scene, and I mean the conversation not the make out session (which was also great). I like how upfront they were about their current feelings. One feels distant and scared that maybe ML does not see her as a woman, but just as a friend, even after they started to date. One was so nervous after starting dating, after years of waiting and being in one sided crush, he does not know how to act. And to resolve it, all they needed was a chat πŸ™‚

πŸ₯° Mo Eum - here comes the perfect angel. I love her so much! I appreciate how she is able to balance being friends for both Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu, which is not easy. Being close friends with a couple is a fucking superpower. She kept Seung Hyo liking Seok Ryu to herself, she was able to navigate conflicting feelings Seok Ryu had about her jealousy in a way that made it obvious she is supportive of the friend, but also sees the flaws of her actions. Her way with Yeon Du is just SO FUCKING ADORABLE!

πŸ™‚ Dan Ho - all kids deserve dad like Dan Ho. Imagine how amazing the world would be if every father was like Dan Ho. That said, I love how they finally showed his flaw - he is overprotective of his child which strips her away from experiences she should have her age. I like how they are adding more depth to his relationship with his da ughter and to him as a character.

πŸ₯²Mo Eum and Dan Ho - fuck this shit, Dan Ho needs therapy coz he is obviously traumatized by his wife's death and did not deal with it in a healthy manner. If I had to guess, I'd say he does not want to start anything with Mo Eum and asked her to stay away from Yeon Du from now on, is because he wants to protect her from losing mother again. If he never starts, if Mo Eum does not become a mother figure for Yeon Du, there is no fear of losing her, they never had her in the first place 😭 But they are such a perfect little happy family! That camping was just pure happiness and rainbows and they fit together so well 😭 I need Dan Ho to get some therapeutic chat from Seung Hyo, the way Seung Hyo got from him.

🀣 Mi Suk and Geun Sik - the packing for the trip scene was EVERYTHING 🀣 This was such a perfect representation of a typical family. They should already be out, but they are still packing, the husband is all giggling happy, but has no idea where what is, and the wife is screaming at him coz damn dude get it together 🀣🀣 But you can also see love in that interaction. Glad to see them support Seok Ryu now. I like how they are still hesitant about her cooking and not fully on board, but also not fully against.

🀑 Hye Suk and Gyeong Jong - what a clownery 🀣 Good to know she does not have dementia. I think too much trauma can ruin drama, we had enough so far πŸ₯² I also knew she ic not cheating and the moment the "confrontation scene" happened, I knew the other dude was gay. He was so nonchalant about the whole situation because he knew there was exactly 0% there would be anything between him and Hye Suk. I love how after years of basically emotional separation, they are back to cute dating era 😭 I was so invested in this marriage!

πŸ™„ Dong Jin is such a useless character. He existed in the story just for Seok Ryu's sake tbh. To show how unfair she was treated as a child compared to her brother. But there is nothing interesting about his character as individual. Man child who is a huge liability.

😠 Na Yun, I was rooting for you to be a healthy fangirl with a crush, but how she rejected Seok Ryu's call was like - damn girl, such a pity bitch behavior. Get back in line please. Which is sad, coz she was doing so well so far...

Overall, I am happy we entered the fluff era. I'm all for it. I need them now to focus on Dan Ho and Mo Eum. We have the whole big deal of him dealing with the unresolved fears, Mo Eum and her conflict of picking between staying for Dan Ho and Yeon Du and leaving for her dream project/job. If Dan Ho accepted her feelings, it would be an obvious choice, but now that she was not only turned down, but literally had emotional door slammed on her face, she might reconsider, even for the sake of clearing her head and dealing her feelings.

yeah but not everyone who voices frustration about any aspect of the drama is a troll and ignorant person. I literally added "family" as a genre for this drama on mdl so people will get it's not just a rom-com and it's not categorized as just a rom-com anywhere. This drama currently sits as 10/10 for me in my head and I'm loving it, does not change the fact some character piss me off with what they are doing, but that's is literally the beauty this show - it has well written and complex characters with real flaws that will piss viewers off if they hit the right nerve.

I wrote mostly rant post on feeds that had 1K + words after episode 10. I loved episode 10 🀣 I loved how annoyed and frustrated it made me, and how I had to pause every 3-5 minutes to write down all the thoughts I was having. Sometimes ranting about character comes from deeply connecting to the show and relating some aspects of it. You give emotional reaction, because the drama was good enough to even bring that emotional reaction out.

The way you just dropped "here we go again" honestly sounded like a reply to a hater or a troll that is about to start shit unnecesarily and it rubbed me the wrong way.

I scrolled down about 2 days of comments to make sure it's not something many people brought into conversation, otherwise I would reply to them instead of making new comment. I had covid, was not here on Sunday to see majority of the comments. Was able to watch the episode yesterday and wanted to write a short comment about something that evoked strong emotions in me to see if anyone shared the same feelings or is willing to share their opinion.

I mean... he did all the self-reflection already and sees how his reaction was wrong, so Mo Eum does not have to tell him that anymore, but still... took him a bit to get there πŸ™‚

I don't hate Seung Hyo, he just pissed me off in this episode big time. If I had a friend like him, I would have one real chat with him and how he should see psychologist to deal with his issues instead of projecting them on people around him so next time he won't have to say "I was not angry at you, I was angry with myself" 🀣

I get where he is coming from, I find it childish egocentric and ridiculous πŸ™‚

But that's also what this drama does great - all the characters have real flaws. Not bullshit quirky tiny flaws that are barely flaws, but actual flaws that negatively affect their lives and their relationships. It's just his flaws personally piss me off more than flaws of other characters 🀣

Sure. The drama needs to move forward. It's just 16 episodes, not real life when they can take however long they want to smoothly transition from some aspects to another. Does not change the fact him ignoring her for a year and then yelling at her was clownery behavior as fuck 🀣

Not gonna lie I find it fascinating how 2 people who were the most angry and yelled at her the most and guilty tripped her the most were him, after he ghosted her for a year, when she was contacting him as she was being sick. And her mother with her perfect example of neglectful parenting.

But two people who did nothing/less wrong (the dad, i think they established well he showed more support towards FL, and was a bit less biased towards the son; and Mo Eum who tried to contact FL in US and when she could not, she asked ML to check on her) were the ones who showed more care and support after finding out πŸ™‚

yeah after yelling at her 3 times and guilty tripping her for not telling him she was sick 🀑
When he was the one who ignored her when she was trying to contact him when she was sick... I don't know. For me one apology would not be enough 🀣

He literally ignored all her calls and messages for over a year 🀑 This is so wild for me I cannot πŸ™‚

its look weird but u gotta when the parents make such req obv < that depends on parents and perspective, I think they made it rather clear and obvious FL's mom cared more about FL's career than seeing her or talking with her. So FL could easily not facetime them for the time of the treatment.

I don't facetime anyone πŸ™‚ It's just weird. I just make a normal call.

And you can EASILY hide it all with just phone calls. She has PERFECT excuse of being overachiever at work to make the phone calls short as fuck saying she is busy with work. My mom had a normal phone convo with me day after her surgery. Keep it short and you cannot know just from the voice.
