yes, it was an iQiyi B rated drama I think (B is the rating for distribution only dramas. for example, TWD was originally a B drama but they wanted to put their own investment in it so it became A-rated.) and then there were rumors that there were investment problems/the original producer ran away so it was unfinished for a while and then Wanda Pictures finally stepped in this year. (EDIT: I just noticed Wanda is in the booting ceremony board so maybe it was a co-producer who ran away)

they might just need something to fill the schedule lol although Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 3 is coming like next week(?) so I'm not sure why

Bao Hu - the crew is really anti-reuters and the fans are getting into arguments amongst themselves about what's considered "spoilers" so it'll be a dry couple of months in terms of WXY videos (I will try to share what I can on the drama page though, there have been some cute anecdotes from extras sharing their experiences.)

Unveil: Jadewind - rumored to air in February next year (some say Jan is also possible but like, where are the trailers, Youku? all we have so far is one teaser and not even a wrap up special lol.)

Love in Red Dust - Qin Wen is getting a lot of heat lately with people worried that LIRD might get canceled but that seems very unlikely (it might be more accurate to say that drama watchers might boycott it in China because they don't want to support her but she's credited properly as the chief screenwriter this time, which acknowledges the actual writing was done by her team and she has more of an editor role, compared to the improper crediting in Blossoms Shanghai that prompted this scandal.)

Xing Zhi Wan - rumors that it's getting delayed again because it wasn't in Tencent's 2026 list and Yu Zheng only mentioned 2 other dramas he's filming after Shadows of Desire wraps up (to be precise, he said he'll present XZW "later" and that's what fueled the speculation. he did mention it's still under Tencent though so it hasn't changed platforms yet.)

Confession (Gao Bai) - was supposed to start shooting in early December but YZ just said in a livestream that the producer is talking to WXY again and melons are saying it'll start in January instead.

Falling Spring Night - YZ is just bringing this up again to distract from other rumors. it won't be shooting next year. probably not until 2028 even.

oh and a lot of the casting melons people are sharing on twitter and weibo recently are fake, at least they aren't coming from reputable melon owners.

- it seems they're shooting scenes out of the order so most of the hairstyles are wigs (except for the restaurant scene during the first week of shooting.)

- no videos since fans won't post them at the moment but there was a big scene where he had to cross a tall sort of metal bridge in the rain and he's scared of heights so he needed a bit of help/encouragement to climb it at first and was sort of huddled in a corner clutching the railing between takes, but as soon as the director said action he rushed up as if he wasn't afraid at all and did it dozens of times. his assistant was seen preparing cold medicine after.

- I can't find the weibo post anymore (crew might've requested that it be deleted) but they shot a big prison scene and his co-actor praised him for being very attentive of others because of the cold (it was raining again, no wonder he seems to be losing weight although he also mentioned during the Vogue event that he had to lose weight for the role.)

- a couple of extras said that he's very polite and cheerful on set and his lines are really good. extras are also well paid apparently and there are no complaints so far.

iirc Lu Hao Ji Ji is supposed to direct a few episodes in the beginning but the main director is his assistant director in Rebirth.

EDIT: it seems the production crew has become stricter with leaked call sheets to avoid spoilers and WXY fans have agreed not to post spoilery reuters as well. moving the last 2 looks in a spoiler comment below as they can be considered as such (though they only hint at plot points mentioned in the longer synopsis iQiyi released before.)

it's also iQiyi finally offering him these types of scripts. the other iQiyi drama he was rumored to be in contact with reportedly cast Pan Yueming and Hu Xianxu and I also just read that another award winning veteran actress is in the Bao Hu cast (🍉Liu Jia, possibly playing Feng He's mom) so it means he's really in the conversation for serious dramas now and his future isn't limited. Jiayou, Wang Xingyue!

for regional industry awards like this, it's highly dependent on the production company submitting their work for consideration. Yu Zheng has been active in submitting Huanyu's dramas for years (The Double was also nominated last year.) TWD would not have been eligible anyway since the cut-off was for dramas aired until July 1st. hopefully iQiyi/Upcoming Legend submits next year.
