I’m on the 17th episode and the sister is damn annoying. She’s ready to ditch her parents, brother, and home country because of a man whom she doesn’t even know much and who has made it clear that he won’t ever love her just because of some second-rate background story.

So it has the fake (contract) marriage that gradually turns into real love trope?

It seems marriage will mark the culmination of their love story in the drama, instead of being the beginning as it was in the webtoon.

For real? Or is it supposed to be some plan? Because if it is true, they’re surely going astray from the source.

True, there were many things with which they could fill up the runtime, but sadly, they went with a formulaic triangle. I guess they believe that the audience will find it “boring” if they don’t introduce the triangles, jealousy moments, noble idiocy, last-minute breakups, etc.

That’s surprising because I thought majority is repugnant to these triangles. I see floods of comments under the dramas talking how they dislike the triangle and whatnot. I guess those who like these triangles don’t comment much or maybe I haven’t just come across them.

But they must know audience doesn’t like it, right? Or do they not care if it’s positive or negative engagement, as long as there is any engagement with the show?

I just wonder why writers squeeze these triangles in despite knowing viewers don’t really like them. Is it only because that’s an easy way to make twelve hours of content rather than fine tuning the plot?

So everyone is getting their redemption arc in the end.

I honestly hope Mi Ran ends up with the nice guy she met on the blind date, because she basically just dodged a bullet. But looking at her reaction and her so-called “realisation” that she only loves the SML, it seems like she’s still going to go back and get shot anyway.

Technically, she got pregnant before he became her boss, but obviously people who want to drag her won’t care about details like that. And honestly, that team leader has always had some weird personal grudge against everyone in the team, so it’s not surprising she tried to corner the FL and force her to talk about her pregnancy in the meeting.

As for the SIL’s motivation behind the revenge, yeah, I’ve just stopped using my brain for that part. No sane person is going to spend years trying to take revenge on the family of a husband who literally died in an accident. I can understand her being angry right after it happened, but even after years? That’s just not believable. At this point she’s a villain only because the writer needed a villain, so they just slapped the label on her.

And honestly, the disclaimer at the start, “This drama has no relation to reality, and if it does, it’s purely coincidental,” is so true.

Just wait, he’ll soon become obsessed with the SFL too, once the FL is married.

The webtoon is my favourite in the romance genre, and I’d been waiting for its live adaptation since it was announced. But wow, they changed everything, and not in a good way. Honestly, it could just be its own drama; no need to call it an adaptation. Just change the character names and the title, and no one would even know it’s based on the webtoon.
