Haha, anyway, if you happen to watch this one, please let me know whether it includes any of those dreaded tropes, and if it does, how intense they are. Thanks so much in advance! 😀
Haha, same here. It’s honestly knackering going through all those breakups and awkward, pining eye-meets that feel so forced. If only they’d just be honest with each other, or at least let things cool down before jumping straight to the breakup decree. And like you said, the worst part is all the hiding stuff and then doing the whole noble-idiocy dance.
And damn, I hate those jealousy tropes, lol. The writers are like, ‘Oh, how do we show the viewers that he or she loves them deeply?’ Just throw in a few dates or dances with the second lead and voilà, sudden realisation of love.
Pulling the story along without those tropes would take some seriously high-level screenwriting, which is why we hardly see dramas like that. Most shows end up falling back on love triangles, breakups, and similar devices. It’s the “easier” way to keep the plot moving and stretch the content across 12 to 16 episodes. 🥲
Yes, for once I’d love a drama without childhood trauma or destiny-grade connections, no hovering third or fourth wheels, no problems that could be solved if people just opened their mouths, and please, spare me the noble-idiocy break-ups. Is that really too much to ask for?
It’s been pretty cold here lately, so I’m hoping this drama turns into something nice to watch after sunset, with a cup of tea. Does anyone know if it’ll have any lingering love triangles or last-minute break-ups driven by the classic “I’ll leave you because I love you” sacrificial idiocy?
I’m really curious about what made the nephew fall for her. He shows an almost endless patience and devotion, even in the face of harsh treatment and the cold shoulder. It has to be something pretty extraordinary, and I really hope it’s not just the usual trope of a few sweet words said when he was feeling low.
Saw the preview for ep 15 and 16, a typical trope of c drama which I don’t like where ML pushing FL away because…
Everyone’s talking about revenge, and I’m a bit confused. I thought he was just trying to figure out who was really behind the accident, not take revenge on PZ. To me, it seemed like he just wanted nothing to do with him. Did I miss something?
Damn, this is the part I’m least looking forward to. I just hope it doesn’t turn into some long, messy angst and miscommunication.
And isn’t this guy Zhuling’s boss? Like, doesn’t he have way too much time to keep meddling, even in the game that’s supposed to be the leads’ safe haven? 😭

Two miscommunications? Damn! 😭
