I rewatched Kieta Hatsukoi twice after ep 2 of this dropped, and now after watching ep 3, the urge to drop this is strong π I love GeminiFourth, but sadly not in this. Can't add more to the comments 'cause everything has been said by everyone else. Might give ep 4 a chance if I remember to.
So many sponsors but where did their budget go? The lighting and colour, the bgm, the cinematography and the pacing.... Especially can't get over how loud the bgm (that sounds like arcade game ost) is, it's almost drowning out their voices in ep 1. Also, what's with the singing in ep 2? Original but out of pocket with the dubbed-over music π Somebody in the comments pointed out that the mains have too much rizz comparatively to the og characters and I agree, it's throwing me off. I loved GeminiFourth in MSP and feel that show has such high rewatch value. Can't say the same for this one so far. I'll still watch it out of my love for the cast, but my expectations for the show are now humbled.
Time to re-watch BL Drama ni Shuen ni narimashita cause they did the same exact story but in 3 episodes (and it's actually cute and funny). I usually LOVE slow burn, but like, if it has actual plot (a good example would be The Untamed). I'll still watch the last ep on 1.25-1.5x speed but I'll sadly forget about this drama in a week.
This turned from "cute slowburn" to "when is something happening?". I wanted to like it so much cause the first couple of episodes were wholesome, it could have easily become a comfort show, but alas it's episode 8 and we're fully onboard the cliche tropes train (and cliches could be repeated really well, like in "If it's with you" - short, cliche but adorable). Where's the rewatch value in this series??
This was so simple but so good - thaiBL should take notes π But then, the actors really outshined with the chemistry and eye-contact (especially Kim Jin Woo).
Sun is super irritating. She has known all along that Ongsa is insecure, shy and an introvert. She had no right…
I couldn't have written a comment better than this. Sun is so infuriating, and the show is trying really hard to make it seem like Ongsa was the problem (whilst her being afraid to come out is a very real and valid fear; not everyone's parents are accepting). Additionally, Ton is getting on my nerves - never apologized to Aylin and made her bullying experience about himself, and then can't accept rejection from Charoen. This series showed promise, and now I'm wondering how they can salvage the ending.
I watched Blue Boys first so I watched this with apprehension, but it turned out fluffy and cute :) The acting is a bit stiff/amateur, but the chemistry is there.
How have I slept on this for so long? Goes onto my "feel-good re-watch" list β¨ I've never been in love but I bet it feels the same as watching this show.
Similar plot to BL Drama no shuen ni narimashita (which I loved), hopefully I come to like this one as well - although I'm not liking either of the characters yet (the personalities are still a little weak). Will have to wait and see I guess.
Nihon movie was too all over the place for me, but without it I wouldn't have the context for World movie. Loved this one. (How to make an early 00s comedy drama? Add ghost baseball arc hahaha)
