She was sending a message to the Ukrainian people, so perhaps that is why she only mentioned them. Your logic is terribly flawed because nothing would ever get done if everyone has to mention everyone and everything they think and feel every time they want to deal with anyone. She was probably watching the news, and wanted to help, so that is what she did. I am sure she has helped many more people than what is even made public. Do you go to the store to buy tomatoes and feel you need to buy every single type of tomato that exists? If you do not, does that mean you are a bad person? Of course not. Is every married person terrible because they do not love everyone else the same way? Of course not. None of that is a double standard, it is personal choice. She wanted to donate to a cause. Should she not if she is not going to donate to every single cause out there? You also act as if those countries you mentioned receive no attention or help at all when that simply is not true. If you really want to help those other countries, then try using the truth and show compassion and understanding rather than going negative. If you are jealous that she made mention of Ukraine, you need to get over that and focus on doing something that helps those other countries you mentioned.
This is a site for Asian drama lovers. I shudder to think how discussions are playing out in other forums, sites, school, the workplace, and at home. There has been several times that articles here have caused the discussion to devolve into something less constructive. I do wish some of these articles would disable comments, or at least have admins take more notice and delete comments that go against the terms of use here.
If I do not know anything about geopolitics, how do you explain Estonia and Latvia, members of NATO since 2004 that border Russia? I guess you just forgot about them. Your thoughts and opinions are like a sieve leaking all over the place. You seem to be confused, confounded, conflating, just a bunch of cons. I have no problems engaging you in conversation if you can at least meet me halfway in terms of intelligence and understanding, but I am doing all of the heavy lifting here. Help me help you.
I usually like to be the voice of reason and know that there is more than one side to a story, but the stuff you are saying does not make sense. You seem to be very angry and misguided. If I had to offer a simple take on the current situation, I would say that Putin is using Russia to bully Ukraine in order to time travel back to a Soviet era that has long been gone. But it (and the world) is much more complex than that. Most of us here can give a hot (and usually uninformed) take about what is going on, and slink off into anonymity. I give Lee Young Ae a lot of respect for making a statement, putting her name on it, and putting her money where her mouth is. That is how you make a difference.
Well the only thing that I will say is the letter says Korea like it’s not a separated country. She lives in…
That is not saying much since the official name is the Republic of Korea. A web search could have told you that. She is Korean, and the Korea she lives in is independent (which I take as her wish that Ukraine remains independent too).
I fear any sort of logic would be either wasted or lost on that dangerously inflammatory and questionable comment. I have come across several of your comments here, and I will at least say they are consistent.
such a beautiful gesture. 💙💛 not enough Korean (and Asian) celebrities have spoken out about Russia's invasion,…
It might be disappointing, but not that surprising. It seems the Asian entertainment industry does not encourage or reward celebrities who take stances in general.
I’m sooooo happy Jiang Yue told off Jing Jing’s husband for faking the adultery just because he was going…
Thank you. I appreciate that you took the time to read and comment. You seem very nice, and I am not just saying that because you love my comment. We seem to be getting close... to the end of the drama. For all the good and the bad, I have enjoyed it overall. I hope it goes out on a high (love) note.
When I first saw this post, I knew someone was going to try to use it, and not just appreciate it for what it is. When you type something and try to be political or simply clever, and it does not work, you should either stand by your words with facts, or apologize for them. You were actually critical of the actress, and Just not the act or even perceived double standard. You do not even know the lady, but neither do I. If I had to guess, I do think your comment would upset her, yet she would probably understand and generously accept your apology. I do not mean to say that you should have to prove everything you say before you say it. We should be clear that opinions are not truths, but they should have some basis in fact. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence either. There are also many wars, conflicts, disputes, acts of terrorism, and governmental instabilities around the world in the past, present, and future. Should we have to comment on everything for one comment to be accepted?

It is a romantic comedy, so I like to comment with that in mind. About the resolution of Jing Jing and her husband... I just did not like it. Regardless of how I felt about it, that part of the story just seemed hollow. I like Jing Jing (I like Simona Wang too), but the drama did nothing to make me care for Mr. Jing Jing (see I do not even know his name), nor did I feel invested in how their marriage turns out. A story has to draw me in and make me care, or no matter how great it is, I will never feel it.
I think the most glaring weakness of the drama is that it revolves around a love app (Love Note), a love genius…
I have been known to be pretty insightful from time to time. I agree with you too. They also provide an outlet to express our feelings, even ones we do not want others to know. Some prank or silly scene you watch can have you in laughter the rest of the day that started sour. Or some sweet romantic scene can make you melt even when it seems love is missing from the world. A character can suffer a loss and grieve and you immediately recall an instance in your own life and find your heart hurting. The world can use a lot more happy, fluffy ones, as I get plenty of melodrama from just walking out the door or watching the news.

That arc was just poorly conceived and executed. Noble idiocy in romantic comedies are par for the course, but usually the ones involved are not genuinely married and in love with each other. I struggle with the message the writer was trying to send. I do not want to hurt you, so I will not tell you only to tell you that I will hurt you because I want to? Or I do not want to drag you down with me, so we can be dragged down separately? Even the resolution came quick with no real consequences. I would have much rather they stayed as a couple, we never see him but she still helps the FL and company, and they can put the time and effort they spent on their relationship into something else. We could have had the FL get kidnapped by a crazy bitter app user and then the ML could have used his Wing Chun skills to save her. He can sing, play the piano, ride a motorbike, and fly a helicopter, so why not?

I think that is what I like about fluffy dramas the most. I do not think those romantic or heroic moments could happen if characters were normal. Or at least would not have the same effect on the viewer. For as frustrating as drama characters can be with their angst and misunderstandings, they are capable of moments that draw you back into their story. For good and bad. Nervously hobbling out of a hospital bed due to jealousy, then calmly landing a helicopter in an emergency? It seems impossible for that to be the same person, but that is who the ML is.

Perhaps I have watched too many 24 episode fluffy Chinese romantic comedies that he barely registers on the clown scale as far as MLs go. The hospital hobble to spy on the FL was definitely clown worthy. I do think he is about as unbelievable as you can get as far as "super" MLs in dramas of this type. Smart, handsome, champion bike racer, sings, helicopter pilot, etc... In spite of all that, he does manage to be down to earth in a charming way, and (like you said) becomes a better version of himself. It was a little shocking to see happen when usually a drama would milk something like the youthful racer/mature CEO plot for much longer, and with much more angst than seen here. Almost every trope in the drama has a mild spin on it. I think that is another reason why I like it. If a drama needs these types of tropes (I am not saying they do), at least they are mild and not wild. In my mind, I picture a lifetime of lovable suffering for Xu Ning Yuan at the hands of Li Yan Ran. I do appreciate the post episode scenes. It is one of the better parts of the drama. I think viewers should not be getting dating advice from a drama, or any advice for that matter.
FL.. a wrack of emotions, two-timing ( thats what she herself and 2FL said ! )What a let down.. ML and 2ML being…
I think the most glaring weakness of the drama is that it revolves around a love app (Love Note), a love genius (Qian Jing Jing), and a romance master (Gu Jia Xin), when pretty much everyone in the drama is just as confused and inept in love as everyone else. It is also what fuels the comedy in rom-com. The FL is not two-timing, she is just overwhelmed and confused dealing with her own feelings. The ML is a bit silly at times, but that is his youthful nature. The SML is just too wooden for me to think he is anything but boring. A clown might be a step up. I do think the obsessive female in the male lead's life trope is used way too often, and usually she is so out of character that she can poison a whole drama. In Why Women Love, at least Li Ran Yan is a milder version who develops (eventually). I do think the main selling point of the drama is the chemistry (I suppose visuals too, but you can say that for most dramas) of the actors, then the romance of the main couple.
Started out good but I'm dropping it at EP 19. I literally just waited for them to be together lol I feel no connection…
Congratulations! For vast majority of us, the drama ends on its terms (last episode or so bad you cannot continue), but you chose to leave on your own terms (your own happy ending). I wish I could have done that for Monthly Magazine Home.
He stalked her several times. Just because she likes him does not mean he can do whatever he wants and think that he can get away with it. Several times, he exhibited behaviors that were at the very least annoying to Zhao Jiang Yue, and at their worst, disrespecting to her. Was he some lecherous creep? No. Should she have called the cops? No. I do think it is just an outdated dramatic tool used much too often though. Both Gu Jia Xin and Li Yan Ran have shown they are good people who made some passionate missteps. They should be fairly judged and penalized for them, but not defined by them. Thankfully he is not perfect, but this drama has done just about everything possible to make him so.
At first, i liked the FL. She was strong, confident and was focused on her job. Now, (i'm at 21 episode) she looks…
I think it was written to emphasize the perceived threat of the guest (if you mean Anna). Part awkward, part possessive, part dismissive, part closeness.
I think they both followed instead of being lead on by her. And I see nothing wrong with keeping score, as we…
Thanks for your very astute comment. I am not saying that because you agree with me, but more so because you are right. The whole idea of a dating app by a tech company filled with people who were either naive or inept at love and relationships, coupled with a spokesperson who gave out questionable advice and found herself in a situation that her love "genius" could not deal with, is not lost on me. An overall poor concept that really did not do much except to magnify the fact that the main couple and their chemistry was the reason to keep watching. Like you, I thought it was pretty obvious how the scorecard situation was going to turn out, and it was totally in line with the FL. It was really hammered home when she spoke about her childhood and striving to be the best.
