I love POJ. But after the episode where they they first sparred by a falls? Went downhill from there for me. The novel made much more sense to me, story wise and for the character development. Felt so betrayed. But i still love it. 😁
This drama though, love the story peogression, character developments. The villains are villains. Then we have the cinematography. They went on location! The desert and the gingko trees. 😁

Madam fu/xie had to live with her husband, that's society's dictates. I think the reason she doesnt want to go to our MC is because she doesnt want them involved anymore with the Fu. She's trying to distance herself and the Fu family because they're just going to cause trouble. She is trying to be brave by first making the steps by divorcing him. She has been planning. Money has been hidden away. But she wants it to be done in a way that society would accept and that would not cause trouble to her daughter. I also agree in one of the comments saying that killing her off was only successful because no one expected it from Fu, who's really the definition of a coward and bully.
