I just realized, maybe one of the reasons he's not leaving yet, is because he doesnt want to confront the possibility that it was his uncle that tried to kill him.
After his parents died, it was his uncle that took care of him for better or worse.
Besides being severely injured, he was also emotionally vulnerable.
It makes more sense that he has opened further to the 2 kind and loving orphaned sisters.
