I think I've only watched his costume dramas, and i dont think pda in their society is encouraged, esp they're in the upper class. Or if not upper class, he's usually a ruthless and untouchable general or a leader. especially in this drama (as others have commented) he's a bit of romantically or emotionally constipated 😅😁. Also, this is enemies to lovers and slow burn, you really cannot expect pda.
Once they confessed they hug more and are cuddly, though mostly in private. I guess they are still pda but 'private display of affection' 😁
Love like the galaxy and blossom for the intense general MLs and intelligent FLs. Also Blossom in adversity. Big on family dynamics too. Destined for a marriage of convenience/arranged marriage, and growing respect and love for each other. New Life Begins is also the same trope.
So. Ep 18, where we see WS so dense to all of XQ's attempts for a romantic moment. Is he just in denial? Doesnt seem so. I see his actions and tone to other women's advances as cold and dismissive. Or maybe he's reallly just dense and unware?
So im rewatching, and manman completely fell for WS when he defended her during the wheat seeds fiasco. So when did WS? I mean they definitely admire and respect each other, but he hasnt really fallen yet (by ep 16) i think. It was slow for WS and more of the spending day by day with her. And i can't seem to pinpoint it yet.
Im just watching ep30. I was crying during the exchange b/w XQ and her cousin. I can see both of their sides. And i guess you choose what's more important and what you can live with or not regret. XQ's heartbreak when she said she's forcing him to go to war for her. 😭
And then WS pov, where he's missing her.
I also think it's good that this wei guard (forgot his name. Pls dont let him die) was the one that came with her. He seems to be the one that hated the Qiaos the most.

I think he also have an inkling abt her mark, he did say that when he first saw her that it couldnt just be the mark that allowed her to become a 'noble'. Also, LY may like or even fall in love with her (esp since shes someone who can empathize with him), but he's not going to trust her. They both love power more. But if I'm wrong that would be more interesting. 😁
