I started it in the middle when it was airing but now I am in ep 24 & can't seem to finish it πIt is so slow…
Now I see what is happening around those episodes. I checked Netflix. There are some cute scenes ahead. Keep watching. If you pause too long in a drama you lose the momentum and interest. This happened to me with some dramas and I never went back to finish them. After ep 24 in TPR there are some good parts. The last 5 episodes have some parts I found draggy only because I was tired of some of the characters. But PeiRong makes it all worth it.
It happens. It just means you didn't get into PeiRong. I loved PWX and LR. I loved the way he loved her and allowed…
I understand. It has taken me a long time to want to watch Are You the One. The first half of the first episode is so boring and slow but I read it takes 4 episodes to pick up and I really want to watch it so I pushed myself along.
Jin Mai has excellent speech deliverance. She makes is sound so natural.
Esther Yu has a childlike voice that is her real voice. But she can modulate it according to her character such as in Love Between Fairy and the Devil. I enjoy her in all roles. When she acts cute, she is cute. There is an older actress that tries to act cute because she has a chubby baby face look but she makes me cringe. So it depends on how we as viewers see them.

It happens. It just means you didn't get into PeiRong. I loved PWX and LR. I loved the way he loved her and allowed her to make decisions but stepped in when needed to steer her on the right path. I loved their old married couple vibe. I loved PWX for being so adorable and yet so intelligent and commanding. ZLH was amazing as PWX and Jin Mai was wonderful and a pleasure to watch. She is a talented actress who does not overact. I love her natural style. I find it hard to move on from TPR and have only rewatched some old favorites. Now I am about to get into Are You the One. I don't quite remember what happened around ep 24 but if you skipped to the end you missed out on some great PeiRong scenes. The last few episodes were not the best due to too much focus on Consort R and her family as well as too much of SRQ, but there were some great scenes with PWX that I keep rewatching. Sometimes if you stall watching a drama you lose interest. This has happened to me with some dramas that had a long break before the next episode. But with TPR, I kept rewatching my favorite scenes while I wait.
Hopefully, your next drama will be better for you!
It'll all make sense in a bit. This is going to focus more on the love story, but there is a political backbone…
Thank you. I have been reading some of the reviews and it seems it will get better in a few more episodes. Wang Chu Ran is pleasure to watch. I have only see the ML in I Know I Love You and I like his style.
I am just starting this and your review is helpful. I am having a hard time getting into it but I really enjoy watching Wang Chu Ran. Don't believe the criticism about Fireworks of My Heart. She was great in that. I enjoyed FOMH.
I keep trying to watch this because I enjoy watching the leads. But it is so slow and I get distracted. Your review answered my question about the slow start so now I know I have to push through to ep 4. Thank you!
I am also not sure as to why she thinks she is married. I am only in the middle of ep 1 and found it confusing.
Okay, thanks. One min she was talking to a nanny then the next something happened to her and she called the ML honey. This is is why i wondered if she had a husband. Maybe I missed something. I was distracted for a few mins.
I am sure this will be great. I just started. Episode 1 is not too exciting. I will keep watching but usually there is something interesting to keep me hooked. I don't even understand what is happening. Is the FL married to someone else?
Glad to see the great comments. I haven't watch a new drama since TPR so going to start this one later today. Wang Chu Ran has been great in all the dramas I have seen her so looking forward to this.
One of the best lines from this drama takes place in episode 39 and it is delivered by the ML: PWX in response…
I was too focused on PeiRong to notice SRQ. I understand how you feel but fortunately, I found myself loving PeiRong too much to feel affected by any attempt the producer made to romanticize him. I wouldn't have noticed it in the first half if people had not kept talking about him. The scene where SRQ saved LR twirling down the cliff made me roll my eyes, and I was nowhere as upset as others because I didn't buy into it. The scene was too ridiculous and I felt sure LR loved PWX. On my next rewatch I will fast-forward through SRQ. Now I know his secret, I don't need to watch him. I also found him annoying but not to the point I hated him. Unfortunately, so many did and downrated this drama.
ZLH and Jin Mai was amazing in this. I love this couple. I enjoyed watching them. I loved their bickering. I loved PWX's love for LR and how he allowed her to be herself while cautioning her where he saw fit. I loved that LR acted tough but showed how she needed PWX and felt insecure that he might leave or she might not always have him in her life. There was no doubt in my mind that LR loved PWX. I cannot tell you how many times I watched PeiRong scenes. PWX has the best lines. He made me sigh...π
Rather than downrating this drama because of anger toward the producer and the emphasis on SRQ, I rated TPR a 10 because I felt PeiRong. I rewatched the episodes every day while waiting for the next. Someone here commented that she loved TPR more on second watch because she skipped SRQ scenes. And again, I have to say, one reason I enjoyed TPR so much is that SRQ and the producer's to romanticize him did not get to me. I can see from your comments you enjoyed PWX. Perhaps in time you can rewatch and skip SRQ 's scenes and find yourself enjoying it so much more.
