I am open to Kdrama suggestions. I have watched a few. I really like What's Wrong With Secretary Kim. I didn't think I would like Strong Woman Bo...(cannot remember the name) but I did! But I enjoyed them but will not rewatch. I am waiting for My Lovely Liar to finish so I can watch. I have heard really good things.

Watched that too and rewatched. Even so, there is something in L&P. I guess i will just have to keep rewatching.

Heart-wrenching is the word for it. I literally had anxiety know what was coming up in ep 22/23. I know why he did it, but I wish he would have cared more that he was going to hurt the love of his life. In HL, the Sang Zhi's family was not as rigid as the one in L&P. Sang Zhi however, got her back up as soon as they questioned her relationship with JIaxu out of concern for her future. They said it was not that they didn't like him, they didn't want her to have to go through a tough life due to his problems. In L&P, the mother did not want her to be with Li Xun because she did feel he was good enough by status or character for her daughter.
I have not been able to get into any of the shows on my list these past few days and I am almost tempted to start on L&P again.

Yes! On a side note, I also see that Sang Zhi did this for Jiaxu in HL in a less intense scale because the show focused more on the relationship than the underlying details. I am just adding this in.
In L&P, the way she went to get a job knowing he would show up...loved it!

I know what you are saying. But in HL, I saw depth in Jiaxu's character. I thought about all he had to endure due to his father's actions and how he must have suffered with going to school and taking care of his mother and his father. He worked several jobs to pay off his debts. And yet he smiled all the time. His character is as deep as we care to look into it. Yes, HL is all sweetness, but when I thought about Jiaxu's life, I am glad he met Sang Zhi and that she is a strong character who loved him and brought happiness into his life. Even though the show did not stretch out to focus on character development, there was still enough information for me to feel there is more to it than just a crush that became mutual love.
Not to say I don't know what you mean about L&P. I do. I absolutely cannot move on from L&P. I actually feel like watching it right now and I just rewatched it last month! I am hoping Zhang Jing Yi works her magic in Bright Eyes In the Dark, which is her upcoming drama.

I love watching this actress. She is so natural with her costars and not awkward in the kiss scenes like some are.

I get what you are saying. HL did focus too much on the antagonists as did L&P. But they both made it so difficult for me to move one. I used L&P as a means to break the habit of watching HL every day. And it worked but then I got addicted to L&P all over again. It is hard to watch anything else when you cannot get the vibes. I just watched the BTS kiss scenes for HL again and that show really makes me smile. CZY is adorable and cute and so loving even behind the scenes.

LOL! This is funny. And I mean it in a nice way because I am so in love with L&P, searched everywhere for something like it. The FL always has some great chemistry with her ML. And this one is amazing himself. I cannot wait to rewatch it again in a few months. In the meantime, I experience the vibe everytime I listen to the OST.

It goes fast with a 3 year time jump. I don't like to watch tragedies either and even on rewatch I think I might skip ep 23 but I still watch it.

If you skip the scenes where the main leads are together, you will lose the momentum. The episode before ep 23 lays the foundation of how they felt about each other, ep 23 was the most painful test, and then all that follows is just so beautiful.

To me L&P is like Hidden Love in the sense that it leaves me with the same vibes. It all depends on what you feel. To me it was watching they way the two leads interact. The FL is excellent at connecting with her costars. I rewatched L&P to help me break away from constantly rewatching Hidden Love and it helped. But then I felt like rewatching L&P again. The ML in L&P might look tough but he is kind on the inside. He has been through great loss. He is a genius. The FL is smart, and she becomes his love and his heart. He did something in ep 22 because he wanted revenge and this cost him the love of his life and it was painful to watch. Yet their love endured and there is a time skip to 3 years later. What happens from there is reconnection yet neither have let go.They will always love each other. The love the FL shows for the ML is very much like Sang Zhi's love for Jiaxu where she steps in to. protect him and support him. The FL in L&P works to be next to the only man she will ever love and supported him even as his refused to acknowledge her openly. But little by little we see him soften and their love is so beautiful. To me L&P is more like HL in this aspect more so than any other drama including the one that is mostly recommended as similar to HL, WIFTY. While WIFTY is sweet and begins in high school similar to HL, it does not have that same vibe as HL and L&P that I perceive them to have. So this is me reacting to both shows.

I have it on my playlist and listen to in my car and on my walks. My hearts just fills with the vibes of L&P whenever I listen to it. Do you start feeling anxious as you approach ep 22/23 on your rewatch? Last month when I rewatched, I told myself to skip ep 23 an save myself the heartache but I could not stop myself. It was so sad but oh so beautiful!

We seem to have the same taste. I will give it a try. In the meantime, I keep looking for another L&P or rewatch in a few months!

Episode 10 was so hard to watch! I am not going to rewatch this show. Some shows I can rewatch even when there is a sad part, but this is not one I want to repeat. The mother was just too evil. It got to be too much. What made this show great was the family relationship between the three children and the the two fathers. They were so kind to each other.

I didn't watch TTEOTM yet as it looks so sad. It has an open ending which I do not like. I might watch it someday.

Exactly!!! i kept seeing Hometown Cha Chas as most like Meet Yourself but I could not go on. I did skip the end though. Meet Yourself had such a beautiful vibe and I loved the way the ML loved the FL. He was so patient and sweet. It might be also that I love the vibe from this actor. He has a way about him. I don't get the feel from the actor in Hometown Cha Cha.

There is one aspect that both HL and L&P have in common and that is the way the couple supported and loved each other. While HL did not focus on the antagonists, it did show that Jiaxu had to overcome his burdens and to realize that he was worth loving. From a young age he had to deal with loss and obligations no child should ever have to deal with. I am glad he was strong enough to know that once he paid off his obligations, he was in no way responsible for the stalker girl. And it was beautiful to see Sang Zhi mature into a strong woman who was there for him. Yes. It was filled with sweetness, but there were also problems they needed to overcome. While Sang Zhi was raised in a loving family with all the support she needed, Jiaxu went through trials and ended up losing both parents by the time he was 25? In the end these two were so good together just like L&P and both couples left me feeling I could not move on.
I wish there could be a sequel to L&P. There was mention of having a baby. I wish we could see that.
