Yes tvN dramas have quite low viewership since CCIR. JTBC dramas are doing well evn if they are not that good…
Oh I see, thanks for the infos. I didn't realized this is a weekend drama, so the ratings is really low. And yeah I noticed even dramas from public channels have lower ratings than expected.
But I'm kinda curious, what do you mean in the last sentence by "politics going on"? Does JTBC have connections?
I haven't watch this drama yet, but I saw that its ratings dropped to 1%. I think "A Good Day to Be a Dog" is going to the doom route like "The Killing Vote" because of their airing slots. Traditional kdramas usually air 2 episodes a week but now TV channels are doing an experiment with 1 episode a week. And kdramas usually have 16 episodes, but I noticed now more 12-episode dramas are being made and they're mostly webtoon adaptations. I think they're doing 1 episode a week because of the shorter episodes but they want to broadcast it for longer. It's not a good idea honestly.
I haven't watch this drama yet, but I'm seeing how it has low ratings. Well, actually 3% is an average ratings for cable channels like TVN unlike to public channels where it's low. But for a grand scale production with veteran cast, the ratings seems low. Does TVN dramas have low ratings this year? Compared to JTBC, I noticed their dramas are surpassing more than 5%.
Shouldn't have?Why?Not 'cause of mental health issues....right?
"90%" is still an EXAGGERATION since there's A LOT of non-romance kdramas without love line between the main leads. OP also said "regardless of plot/genre" and "serious lack of platonic relationships between men and women" which is just a false assumption. Romcoms are obviously more popular that's why people only look more at them and thinks kdramas are all about romance, but y'all WRONG about it and I'm just pointing it out.
If y'all allergic to romance or even any interactions between a woman and man, then watch male centric kdramas. Y'all need to dig deeper since kdramas actually have various plots and genres that doesn't revolve about romance.
You really don't understand him at all. Did u know he was suffering with a cancer and get an addition to his meds…
It's important to give understanding to him, but a lot of people (mostly westerners who are normalizing drug use) are defending and justifying his actions as if it's not a crime. He took many types of drugs, but people are acting like it's not a big deal or just nothing. When it's actually a serious case, he's a drug abuser, it's literally harmful to himself and it might also cause bad situations or hurt others. There's consequences to it.
It's actually good that he got exposed before he gets into more danger and it's better that he takes his time off from the public. His career is affected, but at least maybe now he's trying to prevent ruining his life more from drug overdose. And obviously, he's a rich celebrity, he won't go to jail and he's probably in rehab or chilling now.
This movie is just... It made me cry so so much. I don't know how to express it all, but this movie is so heavy and I can't handle all the pain and anger I've felt while watching this. I'm still crying right now. I want to be strong and learn how to fight back after watching this. To Yu Aoi and Sosuke Ikematsu, good job for portraying your characters well. Even though this is a movie, this also happens in real life, and to everyone who's suffering, I'm sorry for not being able to help you... But I truly hope you can be strong and get justice. Don't be afraid to seek help. You are a human and you deserve to live peacefully. To those ruthless and sinful devils, I hope you will go extinct and rot in hell.
(This is my old comment from asianwiki page and I'm reposting it in here. Back then, I usually don't comment on movies, but I really couldn't handle all my emotions after watching this movie and I had to let it out.)
What will ya say about Kim Yoo Jung she was literally 16 at the time of filming of love in the moonlight 😂🤔
I didn't watch that drama. I'm using Kim Sohyun as an example since she's my favorite actress and I personally don't like that she starred in Radio Romance.
Korean cinema is superior when it comes to their true to life and historical movies. Although, I don't have that knowledge to this certain event, I'm curious and I'm looking forward to the "12.12: The Day".
That's a good thing no? Unlike Netflix that invests more on romcoms and rarely produce good thriller dramas Disney+…
Exactly, Netflix actually has more variety, and they obviously make many thrillers and only few romcoms. It seems like they don't like Netflix that's why they're lying or they're just confusing those TV dramas as Netflix originals when it's just being distributed on the platform.
I remember back in 2018, Kim Sohyun chose "Radio Romance" as her first adult role and mature romance when she was only 18. I honestly didn't like it and it was awkward. Choi Hyunwook is 21 and I'm glad he's been choosing youth dramas/student roles that are suitable to him, instead of jumping immediately for mature romance. Maybe he'll do that in the future, but it's better that he's taking his right phase for now. I actually love his filmography despite not having a main role yet, and I'm curious what kind of drama he'll chose for it.
I also hope that this is not connected to a "scandal," which only the Korean media can call it, because that would…
He's a 02 liner, he's only 21 and he still prefers to play young roles suitable for him. Honestly, when I first read the casting news, I wasn't really that positive for the plot and now I'm kinda relieved he declined it. Obviously because of schedule conflict, but I also feel like it's due to the fact that it's a mature romance. He's an in-demand rising star right now, and it looks like he's going more for youth slice of life and dark thriller for his filmography (which I'm personally loving).
I thought "Insider" was gonna be too serious for me, but I enjoyed it. The trope I hate is framing up an innocent person and I just don't like stuffs about gangs, drugs, gambling in general... But this drama still managed to keep me interested. It's interesting to see gambling inside the prison and the character development of the main lead is so amazing. I love how he improved from being weak to strong, utilizing his skills to gain power and connections while working with different kinds of people. The ending with the NIS is really cool, I would love to see a second season for that.
PS. I've never cared about Lee Yooyoung before, but I find her beautiful in this drama. She's so stunning in every scenes. I guess it's also because the drama has a dark tone, so her beauty is the only one shining.
Time has passed again and I just realized it's already October 15... This drama is supposed to be release in November but there's no updates at all? I guess that's just a rumor and the official date is still unconfirmed? :'(
Anyway, Bang Sihyuk just revealed that BTS will release a new album related to HYYH for its 10th anniversary in 2025. I'm so delighted! Also, this has always been my wishful thinking, but I want BigHit to release a full length movie version of HYYH/BTS Universe where they compiled everything from their music videos and short films, even including some unreleased scenes. I feel like that might happen.
I love the first few episodes since it's so intense and action packed. But the middle until last episodes became so annoying after they focused more on the second female lead (Anna) and added romance. I hate that she's a weak damsel in distress and I also hate how the male lead became stupid, reckless, emotional because of her. I was amazed by him due to his incredible strength at the beginning, but I eventually got annoyed at him and stopped caring about him. At first, I really hated the female lead (Choi Yoojin) and I wanted her to be gone, but I ended up rooting for her. I wanted her to throw away the male lead and win on her own. (They don't have romance, but I gotta admit, their chemistry is good and you can really feel their tension. I kinda hope they continued to join hands as partners in crime - one of my favorite tropes is 'enemies teaming up against common enemy'.)
Usually, I easily get frustrated over the villains and skip their parts, but I surprisingly did not in this drama. They're one of the reasons why I got hooked and it's probably the first time I cried for them. Instead, I couldn't stand the forced love line between the male lead and second female lead and I skipped most of their parts. This could have been a great action thriller drama about a fugitive soldier who became a bodyguard for politicians, but the unnecessary romance really ruined it.
Shouldn't have?Why?Not 'cause of mental health issues....right?
You are so wrong because there's A LOT of non-romance kdramas out there. Also, romance is the most popular genre in kdramas, but that doesn't mean a woman and man being close automatically makes it a romantic relationship.
That "90%" comment is so exaggerated when you probably haven't even dig deeper more dramas.
The trope that I really hate the most is when innocent people gets falsely accused or framed to a crime they didn't commit. I easily get super frustrated and it makes me lose my mind. Even though it's just fiction, it still makes me feel so hopeless since the real world is filled with injustice, especially for cases when the innocent poor people suffers from wrong imprisonment while the bad rich people easily gets away from their crimes... Anyway, I surprisingly enjoyed this drama. The first few episodes did made me feel so frustrated when the main lead was forcefully being cornered, but I eventually got hooked when the main lead started escaping, trying to survive and finding the reasons/truth about his case, along with forming bond from his lost time with his family. He's a fugitive who's roaming and hiding all over the place while meeting different people on his intense yet emotional journey. And for the rarest times, I want the police to fail and I love it everytime they fail to catch the main lead. The main lead is a strong and smart guy who's doing all his best, especially making sacrifices to live for his sick daughter and save her before the time is up. I was rooting so hard for him and I'm so glad that his justice prevailed and it's a happy ending. I can't believe everything happened in the span of two weeks. Such a wild ride.
