Bae Yongjoon is one of the first Korean actors that I love after watching "Winter Sonata" when I was 13 back in 2016. I had a crush on him but honestly, I was shocked when I searched about him because he became old. It made me wish he was 20 years younger and active in this era instead π
not gonna read the whole essay π we are not his fans and I donβt even like him. the main reason we are disappointed…
LOL no one talks about the webtoon in the comments and the drama adaptation has been changed since Season 1 π
I'm pertaining to most viewers who are complaining and hating Season 2 just because the actor/mc got less screen time and there's new characters. But you won't understand it because you can't even read.
It is definitely the new "childhood connection" trope. Now we're on past life connection.
There's always been a lot of past life kdramas throughout the years. It's not a new trend and it's also part of their culture (more of religion with Buddhism where reincarnation is an important aspect). It just notably increased this year because of webtoons. The webtoon industry is booming and they're now getting more kdrama adaptations.
Past life trope is overused atp. I'm honestly not fond of it.

The beginning was so insufferable. They're such a childish and toxic couple. "Love Reset" is probably the only time where I love the amnesia trope because it's really needed and useful for the characters. Their amnesia phase was so funny and I'm glad that they had a better development, but they still need to work on many things. In my opinion, I wouldn't want them to be together and divorce was the best option.
It would've been more interesting if this was a drama with longer episodes. We can see more of their relationship from the past and how it progressed later.
PS. The friend who's always on the phone while looking at stocks is a scene stealer. I noticed how he's always just still in the background. I like when he started talking and the other characters became aware of him. They know that they're in a movie π
Just 20 minutes in and I'm already so pissed! Whether it's a joke or not, I would immediately run away. That's not a friend at all and it's scary how he's getting more psychotic. I'm also annoyed how he keeps blaming rich people as if they're not the ones who did wrong things. They just can't admit how it's actually their own faults for ruining their lives. I didn't root or care at all for the characters. But overall, it's a good thriller drama. It's so suspenseful and fun to watch them going through the hoops to make their kidnapping work. It's unpredictable and I like how there's many twists to the plot.
It's weird to see the negative comments on Season 2... Some of them are just fans of the actor who are bitter because he got less screentime. The viewers just don't understand that Season 1 and 2 are obviously gonna be different since now they're going out to the world, they're no longer stuck inside the apartment and they're all separated on their own ways. It's normal to keep the plot going and new characters will appear.
Some viewers are hating the soldiers, but they're also central characters who have important roles. Since now they're focusing on the worldbuilding and showing everyone's situation, the soldiers are essential for the unity of the people and dealing with the monsters. They did their best to protect the people and give them shelter + fight against the monsters and research more about them. If the soldiers didn't exist, the people including the old characters would be dead and their city would have been burned to dust. Honestly, they did almost everything in this season to save everyone and they deserve more acknowledgement for it. It's really annoying how some viewers are acting like the soldiers are useless when they're not at all.
While for the old characters, they're exploring and adapting to the outside world with their new lives and journey. We literally see a huge growth from them with all the things they've went through. Season 1 is the INTRODUCTION about the apartment residents, Season 2 is the DEVELOPMENT about the outside world with the people, Season 3 will finally be the CONCLUSION about the battle of the monsters.
Everyone has their own opinions, but I hope more viewers will try to understand Sweet Home's format and how they're gradually building their world instead of hating it. I'm actually amazed how they're forming their "universe" and the way it's expanding. (Kinda similar to Arthdal Chronicles where the plot is vast and there's various characters.)
I have a crush on Park Jungwoo in "Salon De Nabi". But honestly, I got sad when his hair was cut. He looks better with long hair and he exudes cool vibes with it. He looks basic with short hair. But I eventually got used to it while watching the drama. He looks so familiar and now looking at his filmography, I've already seen him in webdramas, dramas and movies. Although, I don't really remember him before. I'm interested in him and hopefully, he'll get main roles in dramas soon.
"Salon de Nabi" is a beautiful drama that is really special and close to my heart since I could relate to the female lead. It reminded me of "Misaeng" due to the awkward introverts who are starting in their first jobs and their experiences through it, but this drama has a better work environment and relationships. This is personal but honestly, I'm a super shy and quiet person. I easily get anxious and I also give off some gloomy vibes since I rarely talk and I never smile, so people misunderstood me for it and I had a hard time in highschool. I feel represented by the female lead. Seeing her situation was painful, but I love to see her growth and how she eventually communicated with her coworkers while improving on her job. It's really heartwarming and inspiring.
I also love the slow burn romance in this drama. They're a couple with completely different personalities, experiences and values. Their arguments and misunderstandings are inevitable, but they gradually try to understand and learned about each other. They accepted each other's flaws and they both worked hard to be better with the help of each other. I'm especially glad how the male lead is being respectful to the female lead's pace. Their romance feels so pure and genuine. What makes them more precious together is how they already have a special connection since the start.
The most amazing part in this drama is their hair salon and all the things happening there while being presented in a creative way. This drama doesn't follow the usual formula and plot. I love how they have a different way of storytelling and it includes a narrator. There's a unique style and charm to this drama. It's so interesting how they showed diverse kinds of costumers and the hairdressers themselves, their own problems and how their daily lives are affected with each other for simply doing their hair. Even the small things can mean the biggest things and marked the most in one's life. This drama also tackles various social issues and highlights the aspects about humans. There are deep and dark layers to it, emotional parts that made me cry and fun humors that made me laugh, but overall, this drama is so comforting and meaningful. I feel healed and enlightened while watching it. This is the kind of drama that makes me appreciate life.
"Good Manager" is a fun business drama with a quirky main character. It also has serious aspects to it regarding office politics and power, but the comedy is the stand out. It's mostly unrealistic, but I hope more people could be like Kim Sungryong. I know respecting your superiors and professionalism are important in a workplace, but it's different when you're being disrespected and treated unfairly. I love how his character has the courage and freedom to stand up for himself and speak up his mind. He's really just a carefree person, it's so funny yet also inspiring to see.
I have to say this, honestly... It's bothering me how bad the actors are. Kim Youngdae is so stiff as always while Pyo Yejin has a very awkward expressions.
They're fine in the historical part, but I find them annoying in the modern part.
I hope someone can change the poster to the main poster of only Kim Sohyun and Do Kyungsoo laying their heads and looking at each other while listening with the earphones. It's really beautiful and more suitable for the first love vibes of this movie.
ONE. OF. THE. BEST. KDRAMAS. EVER! "Pegasus Market" is the ultimate hidden gem where I love every single moment of it. The 12 episodes are so satisfying, but it keeps you wanting for more and it deserves longer episodes!
A pure slice of life and fun comedy that shows the characters' everyday life and challenges while working on their supermarket and improving their business in the unexpected ways. I love how every characters are unique and I also love how there's no evil villains that will annoy you, but just normal antagonists that are also funny and syncs in with the protagonists. It's genuinely a feel-good drama with a lot of memorable moments that warmed my heart, amazing humor that made me laugh and creative ideas that fascinated me. It's absurdly addicting but also has valuable life lessons. It has a festive happy ending, but I actually teared up since this drama really touched my heart and I was so attached to the characters. This drama is so special to me and I'm so grateful how much it made me HAPPY.
PS. This drama also shows my dream job. Not for what they do, but for the beautiful work harmony they have. They're not just employees, but a family.
Here we go again with annoying people trying to compare Japanese movies. Japan doesn't own the death game genre and I'm so glad Korea is finally starting to make their own death game dramas! (Well they had Death Bell movies from 2008/2010 but there's never been dramas until Squid Game and now Night Has Come).
Plus, Werewolf Game and Mafia Game are old games that's been existing for a long time. This drama is also different since it's a whole class going on a field trip but suddenly isolated and had an app installed on their phone. But they're not really trapped since they can also go out the building as long as they don't step out the lines. It has some Supernatural elements so we don't know what's gonna happen next and there's something deeper to it. It only has 4 episodes so far, but their mafia game is more bloody and gruesome than the werewolf game movies.
βHe always bullies others. That scumbag deserves to die. That jerk will do anything to survive. Yes. Let's say…
I'm very frustrated by episode 4, but so far, "Night Has Come" is so thrilling and intriguing. I'm kinda confused whether it's Sci-Fi or Supernatural, maybe it's mixed or there's a twist to it. I'm so curious which are their roles and who is the mastermind behind the game.
I'm pertaining to most viewers who are complaining and hating Season 2 just because the actor/mc got less screen time and there's new characters. But you won't understand it because you can't even read.
Kinda jealous of his fans with how active he is, wish my fave was the same π
