Season 1 is surely the best, but Season 2 is also so amazing. Compared to Season 1 where the characters are stuck…
I cried in Episode 1 for the baby and mother monster, they didn't deserve it! 😭
And my favorite part is when the soldiers made a coup against the evil government officials who were mass murdering the people for their greed. Soldiers are like puppets who only follows orders from their superiors, but I'm so glad how they have their own mind and put their humanity first. It was so refreshing to see. I love how they made a big hideout with the ordinary people, protecting them while also risking their lives outside. I also love how this Season didn't really have villains, there were bad guys at first but they easily got rid of them and even the monsters themselves showed compassion to the humans. Season 2 did a great job for showing the perspectives of everyone and how they try to achieve their different goals to survive from the monsters, humans and their own selves.
Season 1 is surely the best, but Season 2 is also so amazing. Compared to Season 1 where the characters are stuck and staying inside their apartment, Season 2 explores more and shows the condition of the outside world. Season 2 has a more serious tone since it includes the military and government. It has political and power struggle that shows the perspectives from various characters - from what's happening with the higher ups who controls the situation and between the civilians who have to survive together. While for the monsters, we also see more variety of them from dangerous to harmless and even normal yet unique. But at the end, they're still humans who have their own feelings and stories behind their transformations.
I noticed how people are complaining about the new characters especially the bigger screentime of the soldiers, but they are necessary for the world building of this Season as it focuses more on the outside world. They're the ones who help and protect the ordinary people. They're also the ones who hunt and research about the monsters and how to deal with them. For most part in this drama, the focus are on the teamwork and growth between the military and civilians who are working together against the monsters, while the old characters are navigating their new journeys with new people and adapting to the outside world with the monsters.
The ending made my jaw dropped. Season 3 is even more anticipated and it might be the epic battle between all kinds of monsters who were gradually introduced in Season 2. I can't wait to watch it!
"Stock Struck" is basically a propaganda (educational) drama about stock investment with various references from modern culture and trends, along with diverse characters from different ages and backgrounds who are sharing the same passion together. But what I love the most in this drama is the unique humor and parodies, which is also essential in business standpoint. So fun yet also complex. It's an amazing drama that deserves more attention.
The best part in this drama is episode 5 where the characters discovered "Aaron Musk". At first, they praised and analyzed him for being a genius inventor and businessman. But eventually, they got frustrated and hated him just because of his tweets. It was so priceless and I couldn't stop laughing 😂 ("This stupid bastard. What kind of nonsense is he saying?" / "Stop Twitter! Shxt!")
Honestly, he makes me so uncomfortable when I watched him in dramas... And reading the comments that he's a pervert and sexual abuser just turned me off more.
Why does the poster looks so basic and awkward... I'm expecting this drama since fantasy is my favorite genre and I love fairies, I hope it'll turn out good.
It's not about being "comfortable and overly confident". It's their runtime strategy (not good) and they're taking a risk for it. The reason why a few new kdramas are doing one week per episode is because their episodes are getting shorter/not the traditional 16 episodes, but they still have to broadcast it for a longer date.
But I don't think this drama is a one week per episode since it's an OTT drama that will be released on a platform.
I bet the monsters came from the experiments of those evil Japanese military...
(For who don't know, Japan is the worst war criminal in history. One of their notorious crimes is Unit 731 where they did inhumane expirements on thousands of people. This drama is fictional with Sci-Fi elements, but it's likely based on it and I'm curious how they will tackle it.)
I liked the beginning with the heartwarming slice of life between the uncle and nephew. But it got sooo annoying when it turned to a typical makjang with those evil mothers/grandma that made me less enjoy the drama. I would've rated it 10 if their parts were smaller or they didn't exist at all. I really don't like how the main characters keeps on suffering. But despite all the bad parts, this drama is still good that shows family values, never giving up on your dreams and the connection that music brings... It's meaningful, so I rated it 9.
I've known "Moorim School" since it aired and I regret how I only watched it 7 years later. It's interesting to see a kdrama about skilled students learning at a special school hidden in the forest. It's less on fantasy and more on action where the students prioritize martial arts. Showing their strength, capabilities and growth throughout the process and as their secrets are revealed.
I really love Harry Potter and it's my precious childhood favorite movie... Personally, I want to see a kdrama about magic school. This drama is a little bit like it, but as I said, it's not really full on fantasy and just overall different. I hope someday there will be a kdrama about magic school where students have powers, learns magic and other fantasy stuffs. I would definitely love it.
"Killing Romance" is one of the best Korean movies ever! A unique, colorful, humorous movie with some deep layers to it about a retired actress who meets a test taker who turns out to be her fan and their bizarre adventure on planning to murder her rich abusive husband. I love how quirky this movie is and the dance showdown around the end had me laughing to the max. Even when the ending credits was rolling, I was dancing since this movie really made me happy! I want to see more Korean movies with this type of concept and style.
PS. It kinda gave the same vibes as my other favorite movie "The Grand Budapest Hotel".
I've watched many Korean movies, but "Ballerina" is the most visually pleasing movie that's really my type! I love the neon colors and camerawork, it gave some dreamy and hypnotizing vibes to the movie that really attracted me. The cinematography is so stunning.
For the plot, as always, I love baddass women who takes revenge on evil people. Her action scenes are so cool and the way she ended that creep was so epic. Her loyalty to her friend is so admirable and I'm glad she found a new friend who she wants to protect too.
The trope that I hate is love triangle between friends or siblings. I despise this about "Soulmate", but despite that, this movie is beautiful and it made me cry so much. I love the type of movies where they show the characters' growth and the different timelines of their lives. It makes me feel connected to them and it also feels like I've lived with them by seeing their whole life unfolding. It was an emotional ride seeing the friendship of two girls being formed, how they parted, meet again, and over again. Being on each others' side throughout the various events in their lives despite their differences and disputes. I find the ending impactul with a new life coming between their fates and continuing their bond.
Silent type of movies exists, but "3-Iron" is the true form of silent movie. The fact that the main characters literally embodied silence is so brilliant.
I was expecting something dark, but surprisingly, this movie is just calming and lowkey wholesome. My favorite type of couple are those quiet introverts. Aside that I could relate to them, I love how they don't need to talk much but they still managed to express their feelings just by their gazes and gestures. They create a unique harmony together. In this movie, the characters never uttered a word at all! I was actually bothered by it, especially since there are scenes where they're being asked by other people but it's being cut. I know they're doing wrong things that could put them in risk, but I was rooting for them. Until they did something very stupid that made me so frustrated. But then the plot twist was unexpected and I'm so fascinated by it. The only line she said was precious. This movie is decades old, but I would love to see a sequel of it where they show how they continued their lives with it.
I like how "Past Lives" shows what soulmates are without necessarily making them in a romantic relationship.
BUT honestly, I wasn't really rooting for the main characters... The moment the girl left when they were kids, she wasn't even sad or considerate to the boy... There was no feelings at all. That's when I knew, they're not meant for each other. I didn't feel anything special about them aside from being childhood sweethearts, but that's it. It was only a fleeting puppy crush for her and she was chasing a bigger dream for herself. For all their lives, they also only met for a short time and didn't have proper communication until the last time. I like how they talked about the "what ifs" on their fate, but they're already disconnected and far from each other. This movie is bittersweet and I teared up when they parted in the ending, but overall, I wasn't really that sad. This is the type of melo romance movie which I could easily move on.
The moment he opened his mouth, I smiled. His voice and accent is so sexy and cool! I literally keep on smiling and giggling while he talks. Kang Taejoo instantly became my new crush when I watched the movie "The Childe" days ago. Even until now, I'm screaming!
EUPHORIA 😭I'm literally jumping from excitement and crying while watching the full trailer. It's so emotional…
The only thing I'm worried is the platform. This drama will be released in a new website and they haven't even posted the full trailer in YouTube. I hope they also distribute this drama to other platforms and give it a good promotion. There's a lot of ARMYs already hyping this drama, but I hope it will also reach to many non-fans/casual watchers.
I'm literally jumping from excitement and crying while watching the full trailer. It's so emotional to see their individual hardships and finding happiness together with their new found family. The way the actors recreated the scenes from BTS members and Mikrokosmos playing gave me goosebumps. They will also use BTS songs in the drama and maybe BTS will have a new OST for it too? This kdrama adaptation was announced since 2019 and I can't believe how it took them 4 years to release it. My guess was right, they'll release it when all BTS members are enlisting in the military. I keep saying this, I can't wait anymore! I'm so ready for this drama. I actually like that they changed the title. Honestly, I'm not fond of common one word titles and "Begins ≠ Youth" has more impact.
“This is the beginning. An unknown but familiar, endless start.”
Wow "Boston 1947" 👏 I've said this before, Korean cinema is truly absolutely excellent for their countless true to life stories. This movie is a masterpiece that shows the historical beginning of Korean sports, specifically during Boston International Marathon where Koreans fought to bring their country's name to the world for the first time after the World War II and Japanese colonization. This movie is so incredible and remarkable that I felt a huge pride while watching it. I rooted so hard for them from the start for their unwavering passion and patriotism, then I clapped and cried so hard for their marvelous victory. And as always, in their emotional ending where they give commemoration to the real people and their journey. I'm actually so glad that they've lived a long life. Salute to these ordinary yet brilliant people who became heroes and made a lifetime honor to their small yet vast country 🙌
