I watched only 2 episodes, it is probably to early, but there is a lot of drinking in this drama.

I feel that they wrapped up the story to avoid a season 2.
All you stated would certainly happen in a hypothetical season 2 that I would gladly watch.
I would have loved WZ and JC to be on the run forever.

You have some fair points, but in reality he is in love with her. So evidently, he will forgive her. But yes, she has to have a taste of her own medicine.
I would like her to beg him for forgiveness realizing she was so dumb that she was weaponized and wrongly sent to kill him.
And I am curious to know how she will make up for him.
Now he is a mortal . There might be a way for him to become immortal through cultivation. She should help him.

I also think, this ending was the best for Yueluo people. But it is still sad. However, it is very realistic. All the freedom fighters in history end up dead.
So I knew this would happen, even if I feared it. In a crazy world, I woud have loved him to be on the run with Jian Ci and their child or better, to be forgave by the new emperor.
But this would never give peace to Yueluo people. And the conspiracys would have sparked from everywhere in a season 2.

The honey trap is set. I just hope ML understands she's been used. And please, don't let ML die at the end... Oh I love that show. ^_^

Wanda Maximoff : she is a stupendous fighter and she can make people see and do whatever she wants to. She was a badass antagonist from hydra intelligence network before she joins the avengers squad. They could never subdue her.

This show is great so far. I love the 3 leads and the child actors are so cute. Not suprised that the show did good.

Yes, his hypnotic glare is frightenning. I am only on Ep 3 but I guess he will be a badass of an antagonist. Very hard to defeat. It my seem ridiculous but he reminds me of a marvel character hehehe

Indeed, given the vengeful tempter of the heroine, the first option seems more like her : she had suffered to much with this family and she laeves everything behind.
I don't believe in the second option.

I guess you have to be "educated" to understand all the tropes.
I will take this drama as if it had an open ending. More logical to me.
