That makes sense. I did not suspect Princess Yong'An at all. But now that I think about the princess betrothed to Shen Du, being her daughter. It's logical.

Maybe she was the one responsible for the marriage edict making Shen Du marrying a Yan's family Daughter. She wanted to get rid of 3rd sister, but she did not expect 6th sister to take her place and marry Shen Du. She also did not expect (6th sister) Yan Xing to pair up with Shen Du and investigate the case so well.

I remember that she tried to make Shen Du stop the investigation several times in the early episodes. Then she let it be, so my suspicions went to Prince Xian.

She might want to demote the dowager and become Empress. Now they are looking for a Crown Prince. But she has other plans.
