Exactly, this is why I think that the lost of his senses was a cover-up to let the actor heal his wrounded ankle. There was no logic to this plot point.

I agree with you for the most part. Yet, I think that LYX injury impacted much more the drama than what you said.
Actually, in dramas, Male Lead and Female Lead normally have a lot of screen-time.
Haven't you noticed that in the first half of the drama Male Lead has a lot of screen-time and the story is well cratfted. It is funny, coquettish, there a lot of action scenes...

Then, by the second half of the drama, Male Lead is almost missing. He appears sitted or he is up but far from the other cast members. ( I wondered if this was filmed apart?)
I suppose that, due to LYX ankle injury, they re-wrote the second half of the drama to fit the actor's condition. I guess that, the last plot point ( see spoiler) is something they came up with to explain why he had to hide from Female Lead and everybody. Therefore, he had less screen-time.

Also, some viewers said that they censored / cut some scenes of the drama ( i.e. the wedding night).

So this is why I had a weird feeling during the airing of the drama. However, I love this drama despite it flaws and I would still re-watch it.
