The story is good, but some shortcomings in excution; overall I liked it.

Sharp analysis *clapping*. It can be one of the major reasons for the failure of this movie.
As an analogy I think about the COVID 19 crisis. I personally didn't watch the movies portraying confined people during the outbreak because I needed to escape this long lasting situation. So it makes sense if the won depreciation had this impact on South Korean population. It is totally understandable, it's human.

This is an unlucky situation for the movie crew. Because it was filmed in 2020 the parity won - dollar wasn't as low as it is today. Too bad. :(

That makes perfect sense. They were watched. So there is a huge possibility they acted for the soldiers. But I have level of respect for FL.
She stood the torture bravely. If it was part of a plan. this is admirable.
And then I undestand why ML begged for her release, and also why he does not speak to her. but he listened to her. They might have a code or something to communicate. This is the plan to take down the father.

I thought Sato san was a blind follower of the japanese victory during the china republic era, and he could not take the rejection of his plan. Or there is an hidden reason we don't know yet.
I also think theytried to make us believe that he likes him to confuse us. Because you are totally right it is a chinese drama. So there must be another reason.

I knew the governor would die. It was anonuced. But I did not believe it would be so early in the plot.

I just catched up. This drama is full surprise , almost every body from the first arc died. ANd the mother. What a useless death.

I did not catch up on the 2 latest episodes but I think that, when the mother will know that he killed her son. She might retaliate against him.

"Scarlet heart ryeo" and "The King's affection" are both very very mediocreI don't agree. The academy would not bestow a Emmy Award, every network craves to win, to someting mediocre.

Everybody has their own taste. But dramas and movie are not judged considering someone's taste or liking of a character. What count is quality of the work. What is the value of this work in history of cinema. Is it a breakthrough in some way. And lastly, what is the message behind this work.

Of all the drama aired, professional peers gave them an award everyone wanted to have. I would never dare to call them mediocre.

Moreover, I liked these dramas.

At the time, "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" was facing "The K2" with Ji Chang Wook. So people possibly rushed to him. I didn't check the rating but I guess it is what happened.

At the time also, "The King's Affection" was facing "The red sleeve" and "Hapiness", I suppose this also was big competition to the drama.

Regarding "Bogota", It ressembles to an independant movie. Not everybody can appreciate that and it is ok.
"immigration stories almost never do well on box office", I frankly don't know about that, maybe , but what I feel is that it is not mainstream. (Too angsty and/or violent)
I think the movie will find its audience now that it is out of Sout Korea.
