They did not take the time to develop the ending as it is portrayed in the novel. In my opinion it would have taken 3 episodes minimum. They rushed it in 1.

Indeed the actress needs to work on her acting. She was too much at times and yes her expression wasn't nuanced enough. And she is also too skinny.
At the end Nian finds her daugther who doesn't recognize her. Logically she cannot exist. I don't know why there is always a weird ending in c-dramas. This one is unbelievable regarding DouDou. But I liked the happy ending.

This drama is like a candy. The more you have it, the greater the taste and the sweetness gets. The chemistry between the leads is off the charts, from the get go and this cute story cuddles you in the cutest way.
Even if the plot is simplistic. The story gets interesting and more and more romantic as the drama develops.

One of the best feel good dramas with a very good OST.

I saw that the rating went from 8.8 to 8.1 in a few days ( 3 days I think) . Now, I heard that MDL froze the rating to counter attacks on the show. Drama around the drama.

Yes. The kidnapper can be related to the same pattern as Park Do Jae, Sa Eon and Sang Wu. Indeed. if he had been nurtured and protected in a good way by Mama Baek and the Baeks, he would have had a fighting chance at a better life.
I was honestly stunned by the way Mama Baek used to lock him down in basements and it is truly a way to trigger murderous instincts. Why did they never treat him in a mental institution? and give him a safe a healing upbringing? The poor kidnapper could never be saved.
A story like this would have given depth to the character but this is a wild dream because they like one-dimensional villains. o_O

Yes I liked the spy like call Between Sa Eon and HeeJoo at the very end to. This spy movie sequence reminded me of a "james bond" like movie and I liked the fun of it. Without this controversy. This show would certainly get a season 2. I also read that even the song "See the light 🎵" got to billboad 10. (*_*)
Wow amazing. When a show get public recognition even the OST become a hit. I like this song and the whole OST. Wonderful.

You are welcome. You are right some reviewers are pettier than real paid movie critics, who does it for a living. When I see people rating shows 1/10 because of a character they don't like or because of the ending. I find this sad because they downgrade a show for no good reasons.
I discovered Ding in this drama and he blew my mind. So talented.
Yes Ding is marvellous in this drama. This is a great investigation and he is killing it.

Stiff kissing scenes of FL ? Thinking about it, I think it was perfect for the character. Because in the story FL is not interested nor experienced in love. Her sole goal was to become an investigator and be able to solve the case of Shen Du's father. So basically she was "incompetent in love" if I may say. So the stiff kisses portray perfectly her innocence and shyness when it is about her first love experience.
I'll let people who have the sensibility and can understand this aspect of her appreciate this. Regarding the haters: they come and go and most of the time they did not watch the whole show or they don't understand the character. What can we do about it ?? Nothing.

I agree the wounds and special effect makeup was great also . Very realistic. This is also something I appreciated.
Regarding the rewatch value, I believe the drama is worth re-watching and I suppose some clues could be find. Because I have the impression that some scenes were cut at the very end. When it was about the collusion between Shen Du and the Dowagger to unmask Lai Luo Zhi. We did not really see that happening. I suspect they cut some of Shen Du's scenes to hide it. I will have to re-watch it to find out.

Well .. this is a great drama with some flaws and a surprising (unlogical) turn in the end . It was very entertaining. And I was so happy to see the antagonist face his own contradiction in the end.
Regardless of the flaws and the annoying FL. It kepts me glued to my screen. I liked it. Gave it 8.5.

Me neither. Although I watched the thai drama "ready, set, love" . The only movie I have seen and liked about death games is " the most dangerous game" 1934 and the remake they did with the brother of Chris hemsworth, Liam. Each episode 6 mn and it is about a guy who plays the prey in the city and huntmen are chassing him during 24 h, in exchange of a huge amount of monney. That show is killing it. So good.

But no clue abour squid game or this one.

ML was traumatized at a very young age. So no wonder his behaviour is sometimes weird and if I take in account his family backgroug it is even more understandable.
To me ML is no a red flag for being a stalker.
