Eternal Love or Ten Miles of Peach Blossom for ushering in the Xianxia renaissance! Ashes of Love has too many…
I've watched Back from the Brink, really liked how mature both leads were. It's a rarity you know these days to have two mature (normal sounding leads especially female leads) to talk through stuff and be strong at the same time. One of the reason why I love TanTai Jin and Li Susu's companionship is they both act mature and aren't having those childish tantrums, the way they act around each other makes you feel connected to them. I had to drop Ashes of Love because of that, FL was believe me really annoying. I'll check out the other recommendations. Thanks
When I listened to Bai Jue's reasoning to revive Shang Gu.. I noped the f out, what he is doing/did is selfish…
Okay now that I've finished.. yeah it was bad in my first attempt and the whole ending saga is way worse. A father abandoning his son for his mother, and a mother abandoning her son for his father doesn't seem right to me.
The whole not telling for your sake in the end became a torture for her which I suspected long back. Can you accept someone being nice, falling in love with you, and then abruptly abandoning you to sacrifice themself for you to have a happy life? yeah regret and depression is a thing, this can only happen in xianxia.
I had to complete this drama as I started the last immortal and seeing how broken the ML in that one is, there is no doubt the parents are the cause of it. smh
Are there any similar recommendations? I have watched LBFAD, Love&Red, Love&Destiny, AncientLP, Immortal Samsara.. I am rewatching this for 3rd time, any help?

Hmmm... your comment gives me hope, I'll see if I can muster courage to give it an another shot.
It's just that there is so much angst and drama while I love both but seeing Hou Chi question everyone's reason to love her or revere was Shan Gu and she being pregnant it's just too much to bear. Can you imagine being that person and going through stuff like that, I know it's a drama but sometimes we imagine irl situations with what we see/watch and I for one can't understand why do scriptwriters go to lengths to create something so convoluted and delusional.
The rage that I have from the ending of this drama is vast. I loved loved loved this drama until ep 28. I thought…
did we watch the same drama? Jiang Zhan was a pointless character true, his only contribution was triggering fight with FL and getting his hand chopped. I think it's pretty satisfying.
Well I too wanted that beetch to die or something but we should know that FL wasn't a ruthless killer anymore. She became compassionate and merciful after meeting our ML, and for that only she showed mercy. Like you know ML died in that sandstorm, if not for that beetch, FL wouldn't have met ML. So, I guess not killing her is a mercy shown by our FL.
I guess the scripwriters wanted the mysterious part in the end, that's why they did those shenanigans of it's a story, painter dreaming them having a kid etc etc
Plot? What plot? I was too mesmerized by the lead couple to notice anything. This is the kind of show that you…
yeah they could've but I suppose the screenwriters thought of keeping stuff mysterious for viewers to create their own versions. Even the ending, they did the scene with the painter. It would be too convoluted if they explained and added more stuff. Fantasy in the end. And maaannn the leads are beautiful.
Excellent drama, it's a great mix of fantasy and romance with some action. I liked how open and straightforward the leads were. It's like watching two adults come to terms with the new reality and accepting past mistakes with retrospection and candor. The chemistry between the leads is just waooow, I didn't know there was such an actress like Ni Ni until I saw this drama, truly the queen - her laughs, tears, smiles could be the only thing some might keep watching. ML is not any lesser, his demeanor and analytical ability makes you respect and revere him. Both leads are strong and complement each other in every situation. This is a drama where FL isn't helpless damsel in distress who needed saving rather she is a strong leader who fell in love with a man who respects her as she is.
I'm glad I came upon this drama, highly recommend if you want to see fantasy and romance done right.
Sadly I had to drop this almost near the end (ep 39).. reasons are bad editing, flow of story and unnecessary…
When I listened to Bai Jue's reasoning to revive Shang Gu.. I noped the f out, what he is doing/did is selfish and almost as same as Zhuger (daughter of Queen) giving out her dragon spirit to save Qin Mu..
I just cant understand why the writers couldn't use the died and reincarnated trope rather than this obsessive ML reviving FL from her consciousness who died for the world (like her alter ego or whatever you call it lived tens of thousands of years and she needs to die ).
can you give me a gist of the drama, there is some hate around this drama even though its highly rated.. what's…
Yeah it might be prejudice but after seeing who the ML is I think I too would go for SML.. The ML did some really bad roles as SML(good acting tho) that I cant forget.
Thanks but I am struggling another thing.. the ML has been SML in another series.. I automatically despise SML who are in love triangle with FL or are evil for plot.. ughh seriously no hard feelings for the actor but his face is plastered with bad memories in my mind ;(
