I'm on episode 11. I sensed a bit of jealousy...🤣
can you give me a gist of the drama, there is some hate around this drama even though its highly rated.. what's the issue? is it misunderstading x 1000?
Currently watching this at ep18.. beautiful chemistry with wit and beauty. Really loved both leads but there is one thing that's bugging me why aren't they kissing? Okay this might seem lewd but hear me out, at ep18 ML proposes to FL that he wants to marry her with her dad present buttt... they haven't even kissed, I mean they are in love clearly - there is more than ten scenes of them being fluffy romantic with each other and yet no kiss.
I guess this has something to do with agreement of actor/actress about skinship and kissing.. but really letdown, all they do is look into each other's eyes for so long that even if you skip 10sec they would still be looking.. ehhhhhh
but the drama is superb, really good plot, and strong femal lead.
We feel you. When we watched the drama when it first came out, we were not satisfied with the ending and wanted…
Yes exactly, just imagine if this drama came out before the regulations were laid down and the writers faithfully followed the novel's ending.. OMG it would have been the best ranking drama ever..
Thanks for ghe recommendation on novel, now I can sleep in peace but I have been hearing Bai Lu shouting Tantai Jin in my ears lol :D
This is the only drama which I rewatched almost immediately because of how addictive it was.
a big disappointment to it's prequel, I'm 12 episodes in and I don't like what I am watching. This is drama created…
Firstly, I was expecting ML friend to be the best supporter of their relationship and be his go-to-buddy for all chitchats, but they made him a love-interest and purposely postponed showing all three in the same scene just for drama. Like I am sure his friend would give up on her but they made it sure that his friend never know FL is ML's fiance.
Secondly, a woman shouldn't be forced into marriage just because she has a feeling it'll work out. Already she was forced into the engagement, now he forced her into marriage as make-up to her. Preposterous!
Okay, they have feelings for each other but act as top ten awkward couples in a drama, like the guy insists on sleeping in other room because he isn't straightforward - agreed okay. But after their marriage on the bloody marriage night he goes to sleep in the other room. like are you f-ing me? he sleeps in the same bed a day ago because of circumstances but can't sleep the next day?In that scene it was so miserable to see FL acting like WTF is happening? While I agree he has zero social skills, but the ML makes zero effort to get close to her or love her. It is FL who is doing all the romantic stuff. To think this is a sequel to the awesome One and Only I am flabbergasted for all the insane delulu-ness they added this season.
Mayb just maybe there are romantic scenes in the upcoming episodes but this too much drama for the sake of drama that I can't digest, while I do enjoy some angst, same flavor, some rivalry, some fights, some misunderstandings but this is just incapable ML acting dumb while a fairy FL saving him. It might be my prejudice but I don't like how it is going.
a big disappointment to it's prequel, I'm 12 episodes in and I don't like what I am watching. This is drama created for the sake of drama. The prequel had a finessed ML and FL, and their relationship was more natural and respectable. However, for this drama I'm half way in and all I see is a lady being forced around situations she might not be comfortable with just for a feeling that they might connected from a previous life.
I myself being researcher is being put to shame for how they portray us as nerd and close-in textbook closet bookworms. It's a shame really. We do have a life outside our research, plus we know how to google "how to be approachable to someone I like" or "how to have convos with your love".
While I liked how FL was the only one taking the lead it was sad to see an incapable ML, he might grow in the second half but I can't digest what is happening atm.
Anyways it is drop for me, more info (spoilers) in the comment.
Regarding the ML’s death (ep 23):“How ridiculous. Was this done to avoid kissing the beautiful Bai Lu. How…
but it's so saad all his filal and remaining true to oath got him nothing but death to all his companions and his love. Same goes for that dumb uncle of FL who got them in this mess in the first place.
Truely heartbreaking ending.. ahh I need to watch the sequel now
What does it mean when the flower blooms?Sorry. I am running out of time to watch this drama. I watched till ep…
when flower blooms I guess the pollen seeds that fly in the air causes the butterfield slaves to die (some blood reaction). The ep 22 is a dream, I think ep21 is true ending. SML dies
Very beautiful and tight knitted drama. You might think this might be all about action and mystery from ep 1 but it's all fluffy romance and redemption drama. I love the fact its 15 min per episode, making it the shortest cdrama I've ever seen lmao - that too historical.
From start to finish you'll be rooting for the leads, gladly there is no love triangle, no misunderstanding, no cheating, breakups etc. just a straight-forward romance drama. 10/10
You are not the only one. I put the drama on hold, because I simply couldn't stand her character any more. There…
Yeah I too felt the jankies of cuts they made after she saves her. Everything moved so fast then and somehow ML starts caring for her out of the blue. There are indications but aren't grounded enough to believe. Secondly, I don't know whether you've reached the enlightenmnet trial, there too they did this 180 shift in both lead characters (in a good way but no progression). As you mentioned it might be something to do with censorship, I have no idea how they make sense of it unlike in other countries in china they cut stories WTH?
You know before starting this I watched Back from The Brink, and dude do they talk their stuff out in the open, It's crazy how these dramas only survive on misunderstanding to drive the plot.
As you are already aware what FL's task is of coming to the past, I was soooo sooo waiting for the betrayal scene and waoow you'll be blown by that one scene. I don't know how common this is but the BG score in this drama is on another level, it's as if you are watching some marvel movie or something.
Also I loved the leads pairing so much that I am now watching "Love is Sweet", believing this is my leads after-credits ending. ahah
You are not the only one. I put the drama on hold, because I simply couldn't stand her character any more. There…
If you ever get to finishing it, you might not be happy fyi.
This fetish if I must say to create as many freaking misunderstanding possible between leads can never end for these writers. This whole drama started with less talking more hurt hurt. Like hatred is only driving factor for this drama. Seriously smh
The ending however was very luckewarm and disappointing. I just don't understand who goes and makes these rules…
Another beef I have is with this heartless path to godhood. Who in their right minds would think habing no love for one single person or in fact having hatred for one single person can get you godhood. That transition of SuSu to godhood was the most delulu thing I've ever seen
The drama had the potential to be a 10 from me but failed due to it's ending. It has one of the best OSTs, BG…
The ending however was very luckewarm and disappointing. I just don't understand who goes and makes these rules of existence, if all the so-called gods are present who is on top to relegate the decision making. Seriously I can never understand wuxia genre and their craze about dying or reincarnation. There weren't many skinship or couple moments were you could watch them enjoy cause there is always this looming threat.
We never found out what happened to the b$$$ binchang she just gets to escape. Soo many death sooo soo many, and for what some guy 10k years ago was able to cast all-distress path? How? Why was he so powerful? And why one has to exist for other to die? Why the clamshell bimbo jumbo in the end? Ahh seriously they could do another reincarnation to get a clean slate but ehh..the writers/novel had to f with us.
While I am angry and disappointed by those things, the story progression, differe story arcs, acting, costumes and music was on point. I really loved the CGI work they did for this, it gave me goosebumps. There's more but yeah it was 8 for me
The drama had the potential to be a 10 from me but failed due to it's ending. It has one of the best OSTs, BG score and CGI, also fight scenes. Splendid work with casting as well, was very imvested since the start.

Episode 36 is what he does for his love. A grade a**
except that it is a 8.5 for me, very good story, awesome chemistry and very intriguing plot line.
