Lolβ¦at least that was a decent title. Some of these YouTube video titles that have the word CEO have gotten…
Youku does put cringe caption, specially in their FB page haha It definitely does not make a good first impression : the cringe caption, the cliche blonde 'bad boy', the title itself 'Lighter and Princess' sounds a bit ridiculous haha
I wasn't hoocked after the trailers, the blonde hair boy seemed "a typical anime teen story", but was absolute…
True. I was thinking it's gonna be like one of those cringe highschool romance, that I'll probably soon drop. I'm actually really glad they started ep1 like that. I like angsty vibe and darker tone. Because honestly the first few eps with the flashback didn't hook me. I stayed with it because of ep1, and surely glad I did.
I keep seeing tiktoks but was scrolling them away, but the first one I took interest in was a clip of LiXun eating bbq captioned : "She tried to bribe school badboy with food and failed". π
Rating this drama is going to be hard just cus some parts that I love I loveeee but there are a couple parts like…
My take, cause I like these discussion lol
- yes, the FSM liking LX doesn't add anything. I guess it's just a plot device to showcase college life, you know the superficial crushes and petty quarrels with bestfriend.
-In the beginning ZY didn't really know what she liked. She was forced into programming by her mother, unlike LX who is naturally gifted (genius), ZY is the hardworking type (bookish) therefore she still excels. Also with LX's influence she discovered that she also loves programming and even became more dedicated to it. I don't think it's because of LX that she's into programming, rather, she's with LX because she is discovering much of herself, he's helping her realize who she truly is and what she likes to do. I think both she and Gao are excellent in their field, it's just that they really get overshadowed in comparison to LX's skill.
- Gao is the only one that LX knows who is capable of running a company, I mean who's the other option? FuYiZhou, all he knows is dancing. He's aware that Gao could hold negative feelings for him, but didn't realize the weight of Gao's fear and hatred for him. A lot of people are really calling out their break up. But if you truly think about it, it totally makes sense. LX doesn't want drag ZY down with him. He also did all those things (making her believe he's with LiNa and the fiasco on the dinner with parents), because he knows how ZY is attached to him and will not give him up unless he really does something drastic. So in short, he really had to be brutal with words and action to convince ZY to give up on him.
- as mentioned in my other point, Gao was literally the only option LX has at that point. I think LX really didn't understand the depth of Gao's resentment towards him (his inferiority complex plus the matter with XuLina). It's quite funny how 'evil' Gao became, I guess he really just thought that he reached the point of no return. He knows LX is gonna go after him, his pride also wouldn't allow him to beg for forgiveness and reconcile, plus his arrogance thinking he has a chance to take down LX.
- I agree about your point regarding the name L&P. They could have taken it but not use it in their new company. Because L&P has some bad reputation attached to it now.
- LX doesn't really share his plan. It comes with the personality. But I think it did improve towards the end, he shares his plan with HouNing and Director Dong. He only doesn't share with ZY because he knows she will disagree with some of their methods.
- true! XuLina acts as if she was ever close to LX or ZY when it is only Gao that she interacted most. She was quite delusional when she approached LX and offered him to be her 'boy toy' lol
actually..I didnβt get a poin why he need to hit FZJ infront many people..For someone who has a briliant brain…
Yes. His judgement was kinda clouded there, given also Gao is fueling his rage and hatred for FZJ. He did it in the awarding ceremony I guess to make a point to FZJ. Everything started because of those damned awards.
Can someone who explain to me how exactly was Gao trying to get LX and HN arrested in ep 28? i donβt really…
How I understood it :
HN hacked into L&P without LX's permission to annoy them. When LX found out, he immediately did the 'unhacking' using HN's laptop.
Yes, it is illegal to hack but given that LX had undone it immediately and no real loss was suffered by L&P, the case was weak. I don't know the rules in China, but probably for cases like that, they will just get fined and no jail time necessary.
So Gao faked L&P deletion of data, so now they suffer a real loss and can pin it to LX and send him to jail.
I don't get exactly ZY's explanation as it is too technical, but basically she pointed out it is impossible for LX/HN to delete those data as they were deleted after the port that HN used to hack was closed.
My other favorite modern cdrama with focus on romance is Begin Again with GongJung and ZhouYutong. Try to see…
I get your point, it does felt flat later on. For me what I dubbed as realistic was what happened to her dad, it can be triggering for some who is going thru such situation. It also didn't make it into my topdramas, though I do not have strong dislike for it, it has some good moments too.
One thing that i came back for rewatch was after the bed scene and reconciliation. Lx was like you could have…
In all fairness to LiXun, I don't think he was passive at all. It just comes with his personality that he's really not someone who will do a confession (also highlighted in ep35 when he said 'so this is what a confession is..... so easy"). To me it seems it probably did cross his mind back then but it is a difficult thing for him, much like how social gathering is for a person with social anxiety. Although he was not vocal, he did show his interest in many other ways. He always made ZY aware that he treats her differently. That time when he went to meet her on New Year's Eve and gave her the gown, also when he dealt with FZJ, it's already a non-verbal form of confession.
I also like JingYi's interview when she said ZY was doing all that not because she has some agenda to make LX her boyfriend. But it's more because they were just naturally drawn together. I like how both of them were not so caught up in being boyfriend/girlfriend or official confessions, but genuinely just want to be around each other. That's why the immediate kiss on ep18 felt so right even without dialogues.
A bit off topic but most of us here are looking for our hangover cure lol I just saw Story of Kunning Palace trailer, looks really promising. And ZLH just looks *chef's kiss*π€ππ . I hope they all air soon, otherwise I will not be able to move on from L&P π

True. I only wrote what LiXun was probably thinking. He was basically fooling himself that he could cut her off. But we all know he'd eventually give in.

Yes. This is what I've also been saying before that regardless of his resolve he would give in eventually. I just wrote what I think LiXun planted in his mind. He's basically fooling himself on different stages on what he thinks he want. But you can clearly see he's given up resisting the longer they stay together.:)

yes, I also recommend Love Between Fairy and Devil if you are into fantasy drama.. for this year, I think Lighter and Princess is the best modern romance drama. The Oath of Love is good too, but it may not be everyone's taste.
when I was rewatching some episodes I realized that in ep. 27 the most painful words were from Zhu Yun, and it…
I would really like to rewatch this scene with better subs. Youku subs are kinda confusing. But it did seem like one of the few times where ZY matched anger with anger in those first minutes.

even the way people reply to few 'hate comments' is very mature.
