I think all throughout LiXun knows ZhuYun cares for him. There were indeed two internal shifts within LiXun. When they met again he really made a resolve not to get involved with her again, although this whole resolve is being messed up because of the jealousy that he couldn't control.

The first shift was after the hospital scene, he finally accepted that he couldn't completely cut her off and would like a casual 'common colleague' relationship with her. We all know they would gradually get closer and closer and eventually get back together even at this phase, because that's just how they are. Here ZY is still doing most of the advances and LiXun seems to still be holding back.

The second shift was after the slap and hug scene, I think this just sped up what was already bound to happen. Here you can tell LiXun is not holding back anymore. He's just not initiating to verbally talk about it.

Yeah, that's why I think it is only after the slap and hug scene where something shifted within LiXun and he knew he needs to stop pushing away her advances. The little things you notice when rewatching, like when ZY confiscated his laptops, they have this staredown scene and he was looking at her lips, he's already making it obvious. Also when he put her head on his shoulder for the photo, those were clear signs, otherwise he's a complete psycho for giving mixed signals if he plans to reject her again.
He probably hopes she initiates again after the whole HouNing incindent.

My other favorite modern cdrama with focus on romance is Begin Again with GongJung and ZhouYutong. Try to see if it's also within your taste. :)

I'm rewatching some episodes now and I'm pretty sure after the slap and hug scene, LiXun was so ready to get back together. He's giving all the flirty signs, it's just that ZhuYun didn't attempt to talk about their relationship again. 😂 Glad in the end he didn't wait for her to take the 'active role' again.

'Till the End of the Moon' 😅 the one with BaiLu and Luo Yunxi. I read a bit of the novel and it's really an interesting angsty story.

True. I just can't seem to get into new romance drama these days. I just finished Weak Hero Class (not romance) was a quick watch, now I'm back to thinking bout L&P.haha
I'm hoping January with TTEOTM will cure this drama slump.

Nowadays, 'toxic' and 'karen' are way too overused. People should expand their vocabulary to actually describe what they don't like, it's not a one size fits all term.

You definitely have a different definition of 'toxic' than most of us here, must be hard looking for satisfying characters from that perspective. Not gonna convince you otherwise, just drop it if you can't bear it. 🙂

Have you even seen the episodes when they were together? They were in fact in a happy and healthy relationship for more than 3 years. It is so happy and non-problematic and no drama material that we only got 2 episodes out of it.

Episode 36.5 are just BTS that we'd already seen lol
I don't know if that was it or if they would really release another special episode.

done... it was a quick one but some scenes are really painful to watch.
the 3 main leads played their characters really well.
Si Eun's 'dead eyes' are giving me chills, you shouldn't mess with people who have that look in their eyes.
and Choi Hyun Wook is also amazing as SooHoo, he's like a little Park Seo Joon to me.

Looking forward to season 2.

I feel like it's just a compilation of cut scenes and not an epilogue, but I'll still gladly take it.

I'm also not a fan of Johnny Wang, I watched him in one variety show where they take care of kids. I don't know, something about him is just not likeable to me.
I might still give the show a try for JingYi.

Yes, nowadays I just scroll through comments like that. As another user pointed out, some are just disguised hate to the series. I like respectful criticism and character analysis regardless if it differs from my opinion, but I can just see the hidden agenda on some of these mindless comments.

Not really. I watch chinese BL too sometimes. i just want to know what to expect, and this particular plot I do hope it's just bromance.

yes.. and usually with movie versions, people starts watching with certain expectations that is hard to meet.. it will really be hard to squeeze L&P into 2 hrs, but as long they cast the original I don't mind the cuts, it will just be amazing seeing them together as LX and ZY again. I'd just think of it as sort of a recap version since I know the full story anyway haha

I feel the same.. I love TMOPB and anticipated the movie version given the bigname cast (YangYang and YiFei) but it was a flop.
If they manage to cast original actors for L&P, I'd look forward to it.
