Yes, that's not S+ or even S grade budget drama... its A one... and it proves what capable production team, talented screenwriter and director could achieve when moneys are wisely spent :)

Duke household has been covering huge area - each Song family branch had their own halls with rooms and courtyards. So, SH has been sitting in his own study which was quite a distance from his brother hall... separated by walls, gardens, gates... Ofc he could hear something is happening

CP in the novel is a very good material for an emperor :) I wouldn't call him scheming - he takes necessary precautions but not plotting against others

I am counting on it... all previous dramas of this director had nice happy endings... so I hope he won't go against the novel and we will see main leads going through all the trouble, staying a lovely couple and having 2 kids :)

Didn't finish the drama being honest - was quite busy and when back after few days after reading comments how plot is turning up - I stopped and then just quickly check up the ending... I think this year had too many SE dramas.

Her first marriage in the drama left her with a bitter memories... so she really is not in the rush to get pregnant - in the novel, her first marriage was like a duty bond - she was making money and running the household, and delivering babies... there was no romantic involvement in it... So when she got married with SM it took them few weeks before they consummate - and every single time they had sex she was comparing it to her previous experience. For her being truly in love and intimate with her husband was a new thing... and it took few months to understand how much Song Mo loves and cherish her...

for me it was more about the style of writing... not the length... you can describe same picture in many ways

this drama for me is best of 2024... and I really hope next 11 episodes will be of the same quality as already aired 23...

best adaptations would be Love like the Galaxy and Joy of Life
but this one is best based on the novel drama :) as the book itself is not that brilliant :) - the plot is nice but I am not fan of the way how it was written, its definitely too long and reading about characters washing up, eating, sleeping, washing up, eating... and so on, day by day - well... I would prefer more action and less daily live details repeated over and over again.

I thought they might stay loving couple - and live low profile life with some help from Duo family to fiend off his bloody sister... Unfortunately that's not what screenwriter planned for them.

I really love the drama version - novel felt quite draggy at many points... so it shows how skilled is a screenwriter to make it actually better then an original source - at least that's my opinion 😉

3 years of time from novel has to be packed in these 11 episodes... so the events will be modified and fingers crossed screenwriter will keep it as good as it was so far!

Drama's Dou Ming was really pitiful character. In the novel she was a copy of her mother - jealous, vindictive bitch, who only could blame others for her own mistakes.
