My impression is that prescription might not be fake - it was never tested - so FL has no idea if it will work - but as granny said - it already saved 3 lives so far... so even after all these 5 precious herbs combined together won't be able to cure the boy - there is still a hope for finding another solution in the mean time... at least how I see it.
Kid is still alive, his mom as well and ML has a long term mission - he is martial artist - he would be still risking his life even if he wouldn't try to get these very rare ingredients.
btw. I am not familiar with the novel this time and so far enjoying the drama - visuals, action scenes and interactions between main leads :) I hope this drama is going to be as good as MLCB :)

well, I would say he was perfect as the stupid right hand man :) his boss would not tolerate someone smart and who could be a potential rival in the future... also he had that sort of clever stupidity - so he could survive as the agent ;)

In the novel Wei Zhao and Yue Luo tribe actually helped emperor's army led by PY to fight against Huan army - so neighbour state which attacked Liang at the very same moment when general Bo (in the drama Lu rebelled).
That was a main reason why PY could ask new emperor (former crown prince) to liberate Yue Luo and make them vassal state, abolish their tributes in boys/girls as well the embroidery one.
Yes, WZ will die together with old emperor in the fire during prayers at royal family ancestral shrine town... Emperor made a trap for WZ and PY as well for second prince and there was gun powder hidden under the stairs... and despite heroic effort of PY and WZ all got detonated. WZ killed emperor, who was trying to run away through secret tunnel. He was already heavily wounded and in the last moment pulled PY hand and thrust his sword through his own body and in the last seconds of his life kick off PY out of the shrine... All of that has been visible for most of the officials who were down below the shrine. So it was looking like PY was actually trying to save emperor...
Even new Emperor knew the truth, he couldn't do anything to national hero aka PY and had to cooperate with him.
To make sure PY will stay loyal he agreed to marriage with his cousin - minister Dong second daughter.

In the novel WZ doesn't have to clear his family name - they were Yue Luo heroes - their house was kept intact and everyone was waiting for XWX return :) So most of the events which we are seeing in drama really doesn't take place in the novel or even if some happened they would different origination/meaning.

for example. Hong Jie in the novel was chasing JC and offered her red flower few times :)

In the novel FL master was already dead - passed around 1 year earlier... and there was no plot element like that at all - so no idea. JC was just regular country girl raised in Jiang village...

in Novel JC's master passed away one year before the current events started, so that's utter nonsense... Also WZ sister has been killed in front of his eyes by their master - she died willingly as this way WZ wouldn't have any family attachments/bonds as well as nobody would be able to threat him in the future with his sister life... It was very cruel but that how his master was - and he spend years on putting all chess pieces in place to win Yue Luo freedom.

I stopped to watch and will wait till last episode release day... but I would gladly murder screenwriters ;) they came over the board with all the main characters features distortion... and other nonsense changes, which are only tools for some plot twists and honestly I don't understand how JC could fall for WZ after all the events... It was hard to forget first 9 episodes with stabbing, choking, waterboarding... even now when WZ clearly has feelings for her and she has for him - he is still using her... instead of being honest and telling her truth and ask for help... PY is like a love lunatic psycho spider who will weave any kind of net to get a girl despite seeing clearly she doesn't want him at all...

It is only a matter of time for face to face confrontation between XW and LSB - it will be very interesting to see how they will react

I am happy for CZY to get noticed and being cast in a good drama. He has very good acting skills - so hopefully no more shabby productions for him

I think he would be my main suspect as when the investigation runs so smoothly and all the material evidence in such a complicated case fits perfectly its always something fishy... like to good to be true? as well as I don't believe in too much of coincidence.
I am surprised they let him off the hook and we do not see any sort of surveillance .
It is just my wild guess but maybe we will see LSB getting some info from these smart newspapers sellers boys :)

exactly, I still can't understand why screenwriters had to go so much over the board with his actions... stabbing, waterboarding, choking... that was too much - even if we say he is an assassin and she was in the wrong place and time. Professional assassin would simply silence her not torture like that.
It would make more sense if she was supposed to fall for PY and choosing lesser evil.
I think without reading a novel I would have serious issues to watch this drama.

they have already started with phoenix symbolism - so who knows maybe he can revive like phoenix from ashes... I don't have high hopes for HE of this drama - but I am ok with good plots wrapping and no lose ends.

Actually both ML poisoned her in the novel

and Yue Luo reduced to small mountain city.
Screenwriters did change a lot to make a drama appealing to wider audience.

and well, do not forget about 3 killing attempts by ML, so they decided to balance it by making PY a psychotic stalker...

that's most likely and the one who actually is a general's Lu man was the one who got highest number of public votes and was taking that as Wuxia and hairpin appeared it might be a chance to unite a tribe
