Ep 21I'm just lol'ing when PY reminisces the good times w JC in the town and conveniently cuts out the part where…
ML add a lot of fuel to emperor's fear against PY - showing how popular PY is and that people didn't even cheer at all for CP... so he took an action in public I really do not like the way how his character was distorted comparing to the novel.
in the novel he will survive when they will try to kill emperor as WZ will save his life. He will marry Chancellors…
PY wasn't evil guy in the novel... He was working hard to make changes in the court and governing system, revoke some tax policies which were implied by the greedy old emperor, etc. He really wanted his country and people to be safe and prosperous.
A drama with sad ending, especially where the ML dies is totally a doom for me.RJL said it is a sad ending 😭I…
I've shed already many tears when I was reading a novel, so I am prepared for the worst and hope for the best. But I think it will end up in the similar way as in the book - so ML will die together with evil emperor - however due to JC hidden identity in the drama it will be much harder for her to disappear - so no idea what screenwriters did plan for her.
it would be a miracle if after all these spoilers we would get HE... so guys don't keep high hopes
What happens to Pei Yan in the end? Can someone spoil?
in the novel he will survive when they will try to kill emperor as WZ will save his life. He will marry Chancellors Dong second daughter (the girl from Dr Cui past) - her elder sister is already Crown Prince wife - the marriage will be arranged by his mother as it was the only way to save his life and position. Crown Prince will became new emperor.
Pei Yan's mother is a piece of work! Imagine letting your child kneel all night in the rain for a chance to talk…
I think that was typical penalty for being unfilial ;) kneeling for hours or being send to ancestral halls... They have made Rong YuDie really cruel in that drama...
Jiang Ci is Prince Qi's and the dead Yan sister's daughter. Prince Qi and the current emperor were brothers. Prince…
I can guess that emperor became suspicious of WZ and that wedding was not only to get an opportunity to kill Yan sister but also to test WZ PY won't betray WZ as long as he has his mother account book. But as soon as he will get it back I bet he will put WZ in life and death situation. In the novel they became friends and allied together till the end, in the drama they are still fighting. When WZ was sorting Yue Luo internal problems PY actually was pretending to be heavily injured, recuperating for months, staying out emperors eyes... and both of them were communicating through lyrics. WZ was pretending to lost a fight during investigation case carried for emperor and his heavily wounded subordinate told emperor that WZ had fall to the river ... and that was during winter
“Keeping the essence of the characters”? Certainly not in Pei Yan’s case or anyone of his clan. He has been…
Exactly my thoughts... I don't like these changes... as they turned victims of emperors schemes into villains... Its emperor and his schemes which pushed court officials into death game and they all are only a pawns which have to play in accordance to his rules. Nobody is safe there no matter their position and clan background. In the novel WZ and PY have no idea how deep was emperors scheme and that he still has an upper hand and will nearly ruin their plans...
If she is, then PY just gave them permission to have an affair!
Yes, second daughter of PM Dong will became later PY wife in the novel - PY had no other option but to tie himself to new emperor and that marriage was best option to survive. Also this was the only way he could still keep what he promised to WZ about Yue Lou freedom. And yes, she was the girl from Cui past, but he knew that they will never be able to be together from the very beginning...
I was rolling my eyes and happy I could only watch it on my ipad instead of a big screen!!! 😅😂😂😂
that's because screenwriters made PY so annoying... I was thinking like - really? and also skip it ;) My main problem with drama is that characters are getting less and less believable... Its hard to put myself into their shoes and understand their actions. Unless that was the main intention - to create a lot of controversy - but not all viewers will like it.
I think for LZY, his responsibility goes beyond just catching the bad guys—he’s also the leader of the team.…
well, what I am worried about are future actions of commander Mao as LSB to avoid execution in the very first episode promised him to be his hidden agent and Mao won't let him go from his hook easily It will make some trouble in the future for sure - but I am sure LZY knowing LSB character will trust his words and find a truth behind it. Any way its a great drama and I am keen to watch dynamics between the master and his apprentice :)
LSB confinement was so handy... it won't surprise me that LZY was hitting three birds with one stone - giving a lesson to LSB, keeping the less trustable person out of the knowledge about transportation plan, and if something would happen still having one team member clean from suspicion and here we go! they both should find common ground to work together soon... as one needs a bit more of flexibility and the other one a bit more of discipline ;)
this is great example of what is happening when screenwriters stray away too much from original story - they are…
I do agree, all is happening too fast... ML is a leader of huge martial arts sect, warrior who is fighting for his nation - he can't turn in 1 week to cute puppy I had seen some comments that since he has feelings for JC he shouldn't use her anymore and should not hide anything from her... well, he still can't trust her wholeheartedly - if it would be me - I would still keep an eye on her, ensure her safety but still focus on my main goal - as a lot of my subordinates and clan members sacrificed their lives for the whole tribe future. So he can't forget about his mission or compromise it because he has fallen in love...
In the novel to make him heartless as well as do not allow anyone to have leverage on him, his sister died on master sword...
Say what you will about the man but it takes a certain kind of Gege to repeatedly try to murder, torture and blackmail…
this is great example of what is happening when screenwriters stray away too much from original story - they are adding silly unconvincing scenes and making character actions unbelievable. Imagine WZ not trying to kill FL 3 times... at first encounter only giving her a fake poison, second time he did poison her but he already had a knowledge that PY has antidote in his hands, third time he only fed her a poison to keep her cooperating with him as he had no reasons to trust her... there was no real killing attempt... would you still saying that its impossible to fall for him after nearly a year of time and getting to know a guy and his motives?
