that's because screenwriters made PY so annoying... I was thinking like - really? and also skip it ;)
My main problem with drama is that characters are getting less and less believable... Its hard to put myself into their shoes and understand their actions.
Unless that was the main intention - to create a lot of controversy - but not all viewers will like it.

well, what I am worried about are future actions of commander Mao as LSB to avoid execution in the very first episode promised him to be his hidden agent and Mao won't let him go from his hook easily
It will make some trouble in the future for sure - but I am sure LZY knowing LSB character will trust his words and find a truth behind it.
Any way its a great drama and I am keen to watch dynamics between the master and his apprentice :)

LSB confinement was so handy... it won't surprise me that LZY was hitting three birds with one stone - giving a lesson to LSB, keeping the less trustable person out of the knowledge about transportation plan, and if something would happen still having one team member clean from suspicion
and here we go! they both should find common ground to work together soon... as one needs a bit more of flexibility and the other one a bit more of discipline ;)

I do agree, all is happening too fast... ML is a leader of huge martial arts sect, warrior who is fighting for his nation - he can't turn in 1 week to cute puppy
I had seen some comments that since he has feelings for JC he shouldn't use her anymore and should not hide anything from her... well, he still can't trust her wholeheartedly - if it would be me - I would still keep an eye on her, ensure her safety but still focus on my main goal - as a lot of my subordinates and clan members sacrificed their lives for the whole tribe future.
So he can't forget about his mission or compromise it because he has fallen in love...

In the novel to make him heartless as well as do not allow anyone to have leverage on him, his sister died on master sword...

this is great example of what is happening when screenwriters stray away too much from original story - they are adding silly unconvincing scenes and making character actions unbelievable.
Imagine WZ not trying to kill FL 3 times... at first encounter only giving her a fake poison, second time he did poison her but he already had a knowledge that PY has antidote in his hands, third time he only fed her a poison to keep her cooperating with him as he had no reasons to trust her... there was no real killing attempt...
would you still saying that its impossible to fall for him after nearly a year of time and getting to know a guy and his motives?

Exactly, I would be surprised if screenwriters made it in a different way... and probably one of sisters is actually JC mom...

I think he framed Yan sisters into prince Qi assassination as they actually took prince (probably heavily poisoned) away to save his life and then frame Wei state so he could start a war too... that was somehow related to peace talks with Yue Luo tribe

To keep General's Lu in check emperor made his son living in the capitol and then make him sick as a reminder

in the novel emperor wasn't the one who was supposed to get a throne, so he framed the eldest prince into staged rebellion against late emperor.
He had help of 4 confidants - one of them was PY father - and later he disposed two of them (whom he was fearing the most) and kept the other two as one was a scholar and second one was a general who was not so intelligent and only send him to the border (that was actually a facade)

in the novel she has very unique qinggong and PY can't figure out from which sect she is... he was also provoking her many times to show her skills and she was smart enough to do not show her full capabilities

if I would write that story - surely that would be my plot choice as we are playing in the deceiving game ... so why not?

I love Machiavelli style plots - MJTY is still one of my favourite dramas

Yep, I also want to see where this story is going up... it won't surprise me if at the end she will take out of nowhere a special pill / or make a one as she has deep herbalism knowledge and actually became highly skilled very powerful assassin who wants to kill emperor to take a revenge for her parents death ;)

well - novels author was smart enough just to make her a commoner :)

I do agree with all above :) Not teaching her martial arts was the best way to keep her out of danger. If she would be martial art artist she should be eliminated by one of ML as ofc she would be much more suspicious.

They both still do not trust her in 100% - she might be as well highly skilled spy who is deceiving them perfectly and hiding her skills etc.
In martial arts universes are usually pills/elixirs which helps to conceal or temporary loose inner power... Both of ML have an army of well trained experts - and she was in the wrong place at the wrong time
Now it became clear that she is Yan's disciple - what would you think being ML?

We may see also soon explanation from her master - why she kept her unaware of her origins and the way how real world is. Maybe her master had some other plan for her? Maybe its related to the promise she gave to prince Qi? Like: please ensure my daughters safety and care free life?

in Dashing Youth - they really over do it :) And he has no real reason to hide his identity

in the novel JC is just a commoner and this is a new plot made only for drama needs... so based on promos/trailers I had seen on youtube JC is Prince Qi daugther and her master must have a way to prove it.

thats the problem with scriptwriting... in the novel only Uncle Pei knows the real face of Wuxia.
He was always leading his sect by orders and never showed up in person. Thats why PY was so persistent in discovering who is Wuxia.
WZ also had one of his subordinates - who was trained by his master - to perfectly impersonate him including ventriloquist skills. And that person was ordered to take over the sect if something would happened to WZ...

so like in capitol when he was on his assassins missions he was wearing a mask, they could make him to wear a hat during that trip and plot elements would be more credible
