I am quite sure it will break our hearts, everything points in that direction imo. Iβll post my thoughts in…
But I am afraid that's not the case... in one of the promo videos I believe there is a scene when ML is going to die and PY is holding screaming JC on the fort wall...
Everyone is talking about FL, but no one is talking about how Doctor Cui is becoming increasingly disappointed…
Dr Cui is actually real prince in the novel and PY family was protecting him well... He didn't want to get involved in the court (so not interested in claiming the throne) but he still wanted to see the country being well governed and people living good lives... He knew PY the best so at the end helped JC to run away and was making sure that PY will keep all his promises...
1 question to Novel readers.if PY is already Prime minister in the novel, Then what is he fighting for in the…
So in the novel there are two chancellors and PY is one of them... however emperor is very suspicious and he is wary of any person/clan which could get too much power. So Pei Yan actually has to be very careful to do not get his clan annihilated by the slightest mistake. Ofc that requires to keep proper portion of power as anyone can trample the weak... It is all about the balance between emperor, his sons and their parties and all noble families. The situation in the court is very complicated with a lot of people involved in. Also country has some external enemies... So what he is fighting for in the novel? Survival and wellbeing of his clan + the power... but as an official he wants his country to be prosperous and safe from external enemies. I have no idea if they are going to show a war with neighbour state + general Bo rebellion - which are one of the main events in the novel - where PY actually will shine during country defence showing his commanding abilities as well as the deep care for country and people
I think so, he came back to promote with the other two leads for this drama with the livestreams and their conference…
He will still have one more costume drama with well seasoned cast - hopefully that role will be also worthy his acting skills and he can finish his career flying high :) We can only wish him good luck with his future works as director :)
My problem is that they decided to give him this controlling behaviour that we see in toxic men in our times.…
Yes, we can tell ML has scars on his heart and he had suffered a lot in the past.
PY doesn't give that creepy vibe in the novel... but readers can see complexity of his character, not just one side... He will be watching WZ and JC falling in love and won't make anything to break them as a couple and he will be really heart broken... The moment when JC contradicts the plague and she is literally on the death bed shows what true love means, as PY will be stopped by his adjutant from seeing her - as he is the army leader and without him all may perish (so for him duty > JC)... but WZ will ignore everything and stay with her night by night transferring his inner power to keep her alive... however when the time will come he will sacrifice his life as that was the only option to ensure his clan future and as well as keep JC alive (emperor would extinct everyone related to him and PY)
Ha! lets not forget about LLTG :) LW is very skilled in terms of horse riding and martial arts... He also had great chemistry with ZL and LLTG is still one of my favourite dramas with the only match maker emperor in that whole C-drama land!
I am quite sure it will break our hearts, everything points in that direction imo. Iβll post my thoughts in…
That's how his character is in the novel - he had sacrificed his soul, heart and life for his clan freedom...
They could easily make a happy ending... like let him fake his death, loosing his martial arts skills due to being heavily wounded and live with JC in seclusion...
I think Jeremy is at that in-between age where he's too old to play the action hero and too young to play some…
Viewers often only see actors fame and popularity and wealth... they do not understand that its very hard work and as a person they literally have no life being hunted by fans and paparazzi, not to mention playing scenes they might be not comfortable with, yet they still have to make a living...
My problem is that they decided to give him this controlling behaviour that we see in toxic men in our times.…
I think I wouldn't like to watch such dark drama as the novel actual is. They could still follow up a bit more the original story just reduce the level of cruelty and bloodshed... Well, PY sounds like typical noble hubby which would expect his wife/concubines to be well mannered and submissive and ofc never defy her elders... so the bird being closed in golden cage - and in that times this would be considered of being lucky! Jiang Ci is slowly forgetting about being nearly killed 3 times by WZ... WZ in the novel doesn't even think about having a normal life, he has too many scars on his heart and too much blood on his hands - she will be for him like a light in the darkest night...

I don't mind him in this drama - he does great job actually as Pei Yan - as we do not expect someone who is Chancellor and seasoned general to be very young, but in his other recent dramas they were literally bleaching his face in post production and still it was hard to believe he is in early 20ties... So he might feel disappointed especially when audience is point his age out.
In the novel, she is a regular mountain girl, but the novel writer changed her background for the drama (and the…
Yes, she is just a regular country pumpkin girl however she has an excellent lighting skill. The person who really has hidden identity in the novel is Dr Cui :) He is a son of so called in drama prince Qi and was hidden and raised up in martial arts sect - but he doesn't want to join a court and fight for power. He is supporting PY and will step up during war with Huan state - and work as military strategist to stop the invasion.
My problem is that they decided to give him this controlling behaviour that we see in toxic men in our times.…
Unfortunately that's a part of his personality - he is great strategist in the novel and he is used to control everyone around him - so despite his love for her - he has a lot of heart pain seeing her in any kind of trouble - he is not going to change his attitude - but he is a complicated character and him and WZ became real friends in life and death... He is also a man of his word and will keep a promise given to WZ about Yue Luo tribe. What screenwriters are not showing to us yet is the complex and level of all political plots... I think they would need make at least 2 seasons of that drama to stay true to the novel in that matter... so that's why drama deviates so much from the book in terms of events and they devised new storyline. Like dearest mom plotting a rebellion behind PY back... In the novel they work hand to hand for survival of Pei and Rong clans. They don't have to forge weapons in the secret - they have very skilled guards and cavalry units. (Like all other big clans in this drama). Emperor got PY's father killed, they also know the truth behind his ascension to the throne too, so they have to be really careful in their actions as that guy is only waiting for the smallest mistake to annihilate both families.
I have not read the whole novel but have started to read the last 2 chapters, Wuxia aka ML died. JC was pregnant…
just to straight up things: WZ mansion was in the capitol, and due to his assassination of emperor was confiscated and closed by government. So without PY help and presence she wouldn't be able to enter there. Yes, he was chasing her as he didn't want her to leave him... and yes, he offered to provide for her and WZ child

Being honest all 3 main leads does great job and its one of the best dramas of 2024
