So screenwriters made it more dramatic and for some viewers more controversial as the victim has to fall in love with an assassin who literally tortured her

in the novel PY never had an intention to let her go... even at the end when he will know she is pregnant with WZ child he will still try to trap her in his mansion.
He will work with WZ for many months and he is a man of his word but just to be sure that he will full fill what he has promised WZ will have proves of his guilt and will give all the documents that Cui and entrust JC life to him... So at the end pregnant JC and Cui run away from the capitol and never got back there.
But after seeing how much different is drama from a novel I can expect any kind of ending :) including a HE as well

that's why she gave him a hint that WZ is actually a Wuxia. She did her best to do not show up a fear... so she controlled her face when she understood who really is a Shameless Cat and how much power he possess... but even at first it didn't give her away but after some events when PY was recalling things and analysing all what has happened he got sure about WZ real identity.

in the novel events are totally different...
I mean in overall characters are as they appear in the drama but the course of events and plots are completely different...
So yes, PY tried to force himself on JC and he nearly succeed
She has been saved by the sudden attack of WZ and his men so PY didn't finish what he has started...
He left unconscious FL on the bed and hurry up to deal with assassins
In the mean time WZ manage to kidnap JC as he thought she was real PY woman and wanted to use her as leverage against PY.
WZ also has his double who is taking upon Wuxia role when WZ has to be at the court.
It is a bit a pity that drama doesn't really follow up the novel as story itself is also very interesting and its more political heavy as we can see the point of view of different characters.

I think that medicine took some effect on her as well and that's why she had such an insight thoughts after!

in the novel she showed no reaction when seeing his face for the first time and that was actually suspicious as PY recalled it after sometime and he thought how is that possible that JC as a woman has no reaction seeing such a handsome man when even people who are used to see him on daily basis are still stunned by his beauty.
so in the drama they have made it otherwise :)

I was really surprised to see him agreeing for that in the first place!

I think she did that as she had pitying him after seeing all that scars on his shoulder

if she would use the stick then he would accuse her of not being gentle enough 😁 so when you are dealing with shameless cat you have to be careful 😂

I think Emperor will be the main villain, Mrs Pei is just working for a long time on the revenge for what he has done in the past...

Well, if they can't stand up that story it is better to drop the drama instead of getting frustrated.
There are much light themed dramas to watch without a lot of bloodshed and morally grey characters and decisions - some viewers enjoy much simple stories which I can't stand personally as everything there is so predictable - so I would say C-drama land caters to everyone taste :)

Exactly :) imagine your mother tells you to go and reflect on yourself as you did something against your family rules... and you are already and adult person having your own children 😁🤣😂

So being a ML I would probably kill that girl on the spot... as no witness no danger for me and my case... yet he still didn't kill her which cause him a lot of trouble in the future...
He is not bad person, he just have to complete his life mission which is getting freedom for his clan... and a lot of clan members already sacrificed their lives for that goal. Can he forget about that mission? Of course not...
But he is getting familiar with a girl and can see how good and upright person she is... and he will fall for her not because she is a beauty but because she has pure heart.

In the novel that happened after he kidnapped her and she was living in his clan village as well as save them from a trap during war... that moment she could successfully escape from his hands but she decided to save lives of innocent people and played against her own country army... He had asked her why? They really didn't were in love yet in that moment... So in the drama mutual attraction shows up much earlier :)

The show is so different already from the novel but its not disappointing at all - I enjoy both versions of the story :) Hopefully screenwriters will keep a good work and do not write some stupid and unreasonable plot twists.
One of the worst novel based dramas so far was Amai goes to the Army aka Fighting for love where screenwriters really destroyed such a good story!

Not everyone is watching daily and not everyone is using payed services so a lot of people is behind... and you simply make a nice summary of the episode :)

This is one of the reasons why I enjoy to watch costume dramas - completely different world, society norms, complicated characters and political situations. Not to mention martial art scenes, amazing outfits and drama sets :)
I find it more interesting to watch not so black and white dramas where we have character development and complicated political/revenge story lines.

This is a drama and if you don't like it just don't watch it...
Your comments about viewers who enjoy it and want to see the story development or they are happy about ML and FL getting closer - are not in place

Its a fictional world and fictional story where assassin meets a girl during his mission... He didn't kill her and from his point of view it was a mistake as she will be a serious threat to his mission and will cost his team members their lives...
As the story events unfolds they will start to know each other and build up feelings despite everything what is happening in that chaotic world

Well, in such a world without certain skills - scheming, martial arts prowess, poison knowledge etc - main characters wouldn't even make to adulthood ;)
