good reasonable ending? FL being free and living good life she was always yearning for? with a good guy supporting her?
Both ML achieving their life goals... but it will come with price to pay
its is not HE in terms of love couples... as lovers won't be together after all... However the last sentence in the book let reader to decide if its a only a friendship or something else

The drama doesn't have to follow up the novels ending so it might be a different one

Both ML are not evil characters but their actions are driven by events from the past, their upbringing and elders expectations. So PY has live up to his mother plans and Pei family safety.
His main goal is to became Prime Minister and he doesn't mind to dirty his hands to achieve what he wants. He is using FL all the time despite feelings he is having for her...
WZ has also his life mission - he has no other desire in the life than freeing his clansmen from 2 neighbouring states oppression. He will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal.
and JC had a bad luck to climb on the same tree he has been hiding...
The drama is a bit lighter in the way of portraying things then novel itself... But its really enjoyable to watch.

The novel itself is very good one :) just be sure you have enough of time to read it :)

It's not HE but it's a satisfactory one...

They both have to live up to their elders expectations... and they both have a lot of blood on their hands. They are both very scheme but they would not survive even 5 minutes without mastering that skill in that chaotic world they are living in.
I hope drama will be as interesting as novel is.

Its not what some readers woll call HE but from my point of view it is best possible outcome for FL

both ML are extremely ruthless and only take care about their life goals... FL should run away as far as she can and as soon as she can... unfortunately if drama will stay true to novel she will be trapped in their games of thrones for a long time and bullied by both... I am reading a novel actually and I hope she won't fall in love with either of them...

He is alive and Situ will fall for him as she will became his doctor.
They will get married and Situ will get back what was supposed to be hers from the beginning - so the throne of the small country - yes she is a princess.
