I think he framed Yan sisters into prince Qi assassination as they actually took prince (probably heavily poisoned) away to save his life and then frame Wei state so he could start a war too... that was somehow related to peace talks with Yue Luo tribe

To keep General's Lu in check emperor made his son living in the capitol and then make him sick as a reminder

in the novel emperor wasn't the one who was supposed to get a throne, so he framed the eldest prince into staged rebellion against late emperor.
He had help of 4 confidants - one of them was PY father - and later he disposed two of them (whom he was fearing the most) and kept the other two as one was a scholar and second one was a general who was not so intelligent and only send him to the border (that was actually a facade)

in the novel she has very unique qinggong and PY can't figure out from which sect she is... he was also provoking her many times to show her skills and she was smart enough to do not show her full capabilities

if I would write that story - surely that would be my plot choice as we are playing in the deceiving game ... so why not?

I love Machiavelli style plots - MJTY is still one of my favourite dramas

Yep, I also want to see where this story is going up... it won't surprise me if at the end she will take out of nowhere a special pill / or make a one as she has deep herbalism knowledge and actually became highly skilled very powerful assassin who wants to kill emperor to take a revenge for her parents death ;)

well - novels author was smart enough just to make her a commoner :)

I do agree with all above :) Not teaching her martial arts was the best way to keep her out of danger. If she would be martial art artist she should be eliminated by one of ML as ofc she would be much more suspicious.

They both still do not trust her in 100% - she might be as well highly skilled spy who is deceiving them perfectly and hiding her skills etc.
In martial arts universes are usually pills/elixirs which helps to conceal or temporary loose inner power... Both of ML have an army of well trained experts - and she was in the wrong place at the wrong time
Now it became clear that she is Yan's disciple - what would you think being ML?

We may see also soon explanation from her master - why she kept her unaware of her origins and the way how real world is. Maybe her master had some other plan for her? Maybe its related to the promise she gave to prince Qi? Like: please ensure my daughters safety and care free life?

in Dashing Youth - they really over do it :) And he has no real reason to hide his identity

in the novel JC is just a commoner and this is a new plot made only for drama needs... so based on promos/trailers I had seen on youtube JC is Prince Qi daugther and her master must have a way to prove it.

thats the problem with scriptwriting... in the novel only Uncle Pei knows the real face of Wuxia.
He was always leading his sect by orders and never showed up in person. Thats why PY was so persistent in discovering who is Wuxia.
WZ also had one of his subordinates - who was trained by his master - to perfectly impersonate him including ventriloquist skills. And that person was ordered to take over the sect if something would happened to WZ...

so like in capitol when he was on his assassins missions he was wearing a mask, they could make him to wear a hat during that trip and plot elements would be more credible

He is wearing it when he goes to Yue Lou or interacts with his sect members as these people have no idea he is actually WZ

Also... they way how she travelled to Yue Lou was totally different ;) He simply got her kidnapped from PY mansion and she was transported drugged and hidden in the box by his team. He met her half way and then as she couldn't keep his fast movement pace him and uncle Ping (who disliked the girl) were carrying her on the shoulders... and uncle Ping was always grumbling that Young Lord is too kind and why do not put her into sack and let Ping to carry her?

He is used to keep things for himself - and he believes that less she knows safer she is.
Both him and PY were trying in the novel to keep their dark secrets and scheming plans details away from her.

Yes, he was emperors favourite male, the book doesn't hold on and we can read some details of their relation as well as the tragic stories of other yeo luo slaves.

In the novel YuDie never said to emperor that PY was his son... she only said he was born pre-matured which made their live very hard within Pei clan - it was emperor who flattered himself thinking that PY is his son...
However she did that on purpose as at that very moment PY life was on the stake and that info actually stopped emperor in taking a move against Pei family

I don't like the way how they are making her being a villain - she deeply loved her son and together with his uncle she was doing everything to back up PY actions and keep him safe and sound as well as ensure his future.
They both were working hand to hand - the only thing she and PZ kept in the secret was a proof that emperor staged a coup to get a power.

She wasn't instigating him to kill FL too, she told him that if he wants to keep her at his side he can make a girl his concubine.
But in the drama she is much more cruel and devious :)

I do understand that ofc it won't be possible to film a novel as it was and screenwriters need to make necessary changes first to pass censorship and secondly to make the story less violent and brutal and highlight a romance part of it...
But some of their ideas are simply stupid ;)
Like today: would the group of soldiers really let that young boy go after catching them in the net? why he was waiting for so long and let them catch him?
then FL goes down to protect that teen and what? she injured their leader hand and tells them its poisoned and they are running away??? seriously? and ML is standing and watching that?
Btw. ML was always wearing human skin mask in public + veiled hat, and only very few people knew his real face

Well that's another screenwriters idea... they were called Moon Tribe as it was related to the God of Moon legend
But there was no bitterless porridge in the novel and FL wasn't searching for a flower to make it.
In the novel Yue Lou tribe is living in the mountains and they are very famous for their beauty. As a small tribe they had been oppressed for a hundred of years by two neighbourhood states which ofc were much bigger and more powerful.
They were supposed to deliver very high tributes in grain and embroidery (which was very exquisite and only made by their embroidery masters) and in slaves - young children who became later male and female prostitutes (katamites and songstresses). They tried to rebel in the past but they had no chance to win. So they came out with a very long term plan which will allow them to regain freedom and became the vassal state.
So WZ was originally a child slave send to the palace where emperor spotted him at some point... and then you can guess the rest of the story. He had to endure a lot to survive and became emperors favourite. As such despite having a lot of power in his hands he was despised by a lot of nobles.
