That conspiracy plot has been made for the drama purpose. In the novel Prince Liang palace coup has been staged in different way. There were different characters involved in it. Dou Fifth uncle even wasn't a villain.

Dou Ming character, her marriage story and role in the drama has been changed in comparison to the novel a lot... As well as her mother demise.

he has made such a great efforts to be able back to his wife asap and enjoy the wedding night - even got a rid of his bestie just to find out that DZ bestie is enough to ruin his plans :D

sounds like he will be back to original version... or he will side with enemies... let's see how his arch will unveil

that's a very nice option... fingers crossed they won't make him being evil :)
and dumb and dumber couple based on trailers is going into good direction as in the novel Wei Tingzen was domineering and scheming, greedy bitch... and her brother had no back bone to oppose her...
Also DZ never helped her to sort out marriage problems (we can see her dealing with WT in the latest trailer) - both sisters were at odds as younger one took too much from her mother starting from being unreasonably jealous and putting a blame on others for her own mistakes...
In the drama she is so far innocent and cute little sister... I hope that will stay this way...

that would be a huge change vs novel... but that's quite possible... we may see Madam Jiang telling him to keep cat as she knew she had been poisoned... to protect himself
or he might be in this lifetime her son and only the sister would be cast away... lets see what will happen, how screenwriter sort out these plots :)

Song Han in a novel is a copy of his father... evil to the bones... and he fed Madam Jiang poison knowing what is in the medicine (a cat died after drinking it and a flower too) the woman who loved him deeply...
but he already knew that he is a child from his father affair with low background mistress... so he helped duke to kill her

I think they might change his nature in this drama... however he is carrying a black cat with him... which indicates he knows The Mother had been poisoned - so I am not sure what his story will end up alike... in the novel he got a marriage bestowed by Grand Empress - to displeased Duke after she heard a rumour about him being illegitimate child... and Miao Ansu was very capricious merchants daughter... not really one of the FL friends... so they got paired as sort of Grand Empress revenge on Miao family...
But based on previous works of this director and as drama so far was even more positive then a novel - I have impression that Song Han might be not an evil character. Lets see

that scriptwriter did amazing job with Immortal Samsara, so I was expecting that this drama will be a nice surprise! and it is... like a black horse in 2024 dramas...

I know, that director made best short dramas in last years - but still my first impression was that its S class drama, and then I've read the article which stated clearly it was A class budget, and it was definitely used very well :)

and its just A grade budget drama! hard to believe that!

I am talking about Grandma Cui, you can see her in episode 2 (30 min) or 17... especially when she is smiling... she could be real grandmother of TJC :D at least in my eyes

if screenwriters will stick in that matter to the book - we should have plenty of their sweet couple episodes
when they will be discovering slowly the truth

and having a heart won't let him to get there :D

btw. the Grandma looks like TJC grandma :D

I have to admit that his current role is soooo different from the previous ones :) But it only shows how good actor LXZ is :)

But at least he sober up in today's episode, so I hope from now on he will be the loving dad from a novel :)
