Yes, they did! and they were loving and understanding couple! and relation between SM and DS was great :) SM had and horrible father and in the novel he says: if we will have a daughter I will treat her the same way like your father treats you... if we will have a son - I will treat him like your uncle (Zhao one, her mother's brother) treats me :)

He shouldn't be but lets see what will happen. I am still reading a novel, its too draggy for my taste - and its one of rare occasions when I like drama more then the book. Any way in the novel she DZ has very careful approach when she tries to change things... and she already did a lot comparing to what happened in the first life time. People says she should be doing more... I don't think so she can - she is only a woman, which has some money but as a woman of her times she has no free will and she can't really spill the beans and tell Song Mo the truth. Also - saving one person can cost a life of another one... more stones she will throw into the river - more ripples on the surface will cross each other. The first episode is very different from the novel, so for me the drama actually feels like alternative course of events :)

Its hard to say how drama will unfold, and if Ji Yong kept his memories from previous life - it seems so... but we can't be sure for 100% - drama is already so different from the novel, but... being honest they had to make a lot of changes as book is soooo long and we have 34 episodes only... I am keen to see what will happen to the dumb and dumber couple - as they are now in love... and its not exactly how things are in the novel ;) sisters were never on good terms there, so screenwriters changed Ming personality a lot - like they have made the same about other Duo family members but for worse...

I do agree - she just can't tell him, what she had experienced in her previous life - who would believe in her words? None, she is trying to stop the river flowing, that's impossible but her actions are making a ripples on the surface and she can throw a large bulky rock which can resist the water flow... what will be already a huge success and in my understanding means that they both can withstand the flow of tragic events which will happen in the future and are related to emperors death and struggle for power between factions. She has already achieved a lot through her hard work, careful planning, and building up a financial empire. She has her own struggle due to fifth uncle and stepmother vicious plans and her father being spineless henpecked guy... ok, he finally decided to stand out for his daughter...

Some novels are great on their own, and then when drama comes out readers have high expectations - some productions can live up to them and some are just a disaster due to excessive changes in characters and plots which usually create loopholes and unreasonable/non logical actions . So for me its not about difference between the novel and the adaptation but about a quality... as long as drama is well made and the story unveils smoothly - I don't mind being it different from the book...

There is a huge age gap difference between XH and MJH as well as the tragic experience of MJH being framed and named as city murderer. XH has his own charm and MJH has a one too - despite demons in his heart. I am finally hooked by the drama!
